RALPH

Get up," I ordered, my voice fierce.

"Why would I do that?" she replied dryly.

I see. you're still big-headed. I wonder if you would still have the same spirit when I introduced you to the pack. It's bound to be entertaining. I thought to myself.

Crouching down, I grabbed her hand, but I quickly dropped it due to the sudden jolting spark. She looked up at me in shock, clearly surprised. "Do you have electricity in your hands?" she asked.

Without answering, I grabbed her hand again, ignoring the intense sparks that radiated through me. I despised this annoying mate bond, the sparks growing stronger with each passing second. I was furious at how much it affected me. Damn it to my wolf for making this impossible.

When I arrived at my room, I immediately headed to the bathroom. I swiftly removed my clothes and turned on the hot water, vigorously scrubbing away her scent until I could no longer smell it. Taking a deep breath, I finally felt a sense of relief.

As I emerged from the shower, my skin was red from the intense scrubbing and hot water, but that was the least of my worries. I quickly dressed in clean clothes and made my way downstairs to the meeting hall, where I found everyone gathered, whispering amongst themselves. As soon as they noticed me, they fell silent. I pushed my way through them and took my seat.

"Dahlia, bring that human here," I mindlinked to her.

A few moments later, as the pack members waited patiently for what I would say, high-heeled footsteps echoed through the hallway toward us. I stood up from my chair, shocked to see Zac holding the human instead of Dahlia, with his sister Benita beside him. The sight of keilah. Did I just say her name? Fuck me. Her sight sent everyone into a frenzy.

Dahlia, what happened? How did Zac find her? I asked her through the mind link. I have no idea, alpha. When I arrived, Zac was already there. She replied.

Zac walked with her towards me, and one of the guys half shifted lurching towards the human, but Zac swiftly kicked him away. He turned to face the angry pack members and said, "Do you all want to die?" He then exposed the mark on the human's neck and asked, "Do you know who this belongs to? It's your alpha's mark. This human right here is your alpha's mate." The pack members gasped, clearly bewildered.

Fuck. This isn't what I had planned to do. I cursed at myself.

With a smug that I had always wanted to rip off, Zac turned back to me…

Alpha Ralph, prove me wrong that this mark on her isn't yours. He said, the grin on his face widening.

When I remained silent, still shocked by his sudden movement, he let go of Keilah and threw her into the hands of the pack members. Without asking for permission on what to do with her, they began pulling her back and forth, scratching her whenever they laid their claws on her body.

"Enough!"

She mewled, tears streaming down her face as she looked at me with both hate and agony. She was in so much pain, and I could feel it. I could feel how much she longed for death.

Are you enjoying this? My wolf growled inside me. You made a fool out of me. And now you're just standing, doing nothing while your people are killing our mate. Is this what you wanted? For her to die in other people's hands?

He was so furious that it was difficult for me to block him out again. The mate bond itself was already affecting me, pulling me towards her and compelling me to save her from them. The pull was too strong, and I couldn't control it anymore.

As I was about to make a move, a sudden blast of magic bursted through the doorway into whoever was on the human, sending them in different directions leaving the human's unconscious and bloodied figure exposed. My heart ached at how badly she looked. I felt like I was suffocating.

We all turned to look at the entryway, where Godmother stood. She had returned to her usual self, but her expression was filled with fury. She glanced at the lifeless human on the floor and clutched her mouth before rushing over to her. She quickly checked her pulse and let out a sigh of relief. Thank God.

I'm sorry, sweetie. It's my fault that you're in this condition. The crime you committed was helping this old woman, which led you into the hands of these heartless beasts. She whimpered, her voice shaking, as she tried to wipe the blood off Keilah's face. Suddenly, she stood up and looked at each of us in the room. In a raspy voice she said,

If any of you touch her again, I swear I will kill all of you. No, I will put a hashful curse on whoever lays a hand on this woman, including you, Zac. She gave both me and Zac a death glare before calling Dahlia to carry the human into her room.

Godmother's words hung in the air, a heavy silence fell upon the room. The intensity of her gaze sent shivers down my spine as well as zac’s, I can tell. Every word she uttered, she meant it. It was clear that she would stop at nothing to protect her.

Zac, who had been caught off guard by the sudden outburst of his mother, took a step back, his eyes widening with a mix of fear and confusion. He had never seen this side of her mother before, and it both frightened and intrigued him. He realized that he had crossed a line, and now he had to face the consequences of his actions. Meanwhile, Dahlia carefully lifted the unconscious human into her arms and followed godmother out

As they disappeared, the room was left in a state of tension. Those who had been hauled collected themselves and exchanged uneasy glances. Godmother's words still echoed in their minds. And they know well when she gets angry she doesn't speak empty words. Frustrated, I stepped out of the room, but just as I got to the staircases, Zac blocked my way.

You and I aren't done talking yet. He started. I saw everything from the start. From where you protected her from benita's wolf. I was there where you kept an eye on her the whole four hours. I don't get it. You let her get away alive, but then, you didn't bat an eye when the pack were taking the life out of her. Why? What did you want to prove there—

I swung a blow onto his annoying face before he could finish. He went staggering down the last staircase, and I followed suit. Watch your mouth carefully. I'm still your alpha. You know the consequence of annoying your alpha. Right? I said to him and slapped him on the shoulder before walking away. That mother fucking of a son. I grumbled.

I knocked on Godmother's door before entering. The room had a strong smell of herbs, causing me to sneeze multiple times as I walked towards her. She was cleaning the blood off the human's half-naked body. Setting the wet cloth aside, she stepped aside so I could see the condition of the human.

My heart sank as I looked at the human, her body battered and broken. The sight of her blood-soaked skin made my stomach churn.

Fresh blood continued to ooze from her skin. My chest felt heavy, experiencing an unexplainable pain that seemed to threaten to split it open. Godmother reached for a jar filled with a thick, green ointment, her hands steady despite the trembling in her voice. Her gaze met mine. "I've been doing what I can to stop the bleeding, but her injuries are severe. You'd not want her to bleed out to death. She's your mate after all.” She said, her voice laced with a hint of anger. She placed the ointment jar on the vanity and went out, closing the door behind her.

As soon as she closed the door, I ambled over to Keilah's injured body. How could this mere human girl possibly be my mate? I despise her, and I don't want anything to do with her. Before I could continue further hateful words, I noticed a tear rolling down her cheek. Did you hear what I said? I pressed. Of course, you did. So why are you crying? it's your fault for returning when I explicitly told you not to. I said.

I don't even know why I came all the way here. I have other important things to do than waste time here talking to myself while cursing the universe for pairing me with this human. I turned and walked away from her.

As I approached the door, my leg suddenly throbbed intensely. I stopped and looked down at my leg confused. There were deep teeth marks. Before I could wonder where I got them from, The human's voice calling my name echoed in my head, startling me.

"Ralph, it hurts. Heal me from this pain."

  • TETHERED    EPISODE 76

KEILAH I tugged at Ralph’s hand, trying to pull him toward the ice cream shop. The brightly colored sign above the door read "Scoops & Smiles," and the kids were laughing inside, faces smeared with chocolate and sprinkles. The sweet aroma of freshly made waffle cones and creamy scoops of different flavours filled the air, and I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of indulging in a little treat. But Ralph, as always, resisted. "Come on, Ralph," I urged, trying to keep the frustration out of my voice. "It’s just ice cream. It’ll be fun!" He glanced at the brightly colored sign above the shop, then back at me, his expression impassive. "Mate, this kind of ice cream eating is for kids and teenagers," he replied, his tone calm but firm. "Not for someone like me." I stopped pulling and let go of his hand, the sudden release leaving my fingers tingling. My heart sank as I took in his stoic face, the same face that had ruined every date we’d tried to have in the past few months. It

  • TETHERED    EPISODE 75

RALPH I shifted back to my human form, blood dripping from the gashes Zac had left. My heart pounded not from exertion but from the panic twisting in my chest. I need to find Keilah. The sound of approaching footsteps made me halt for a moment, and when I turned, it was Alexander and other council members marching towards me. As they reached me, Alexander stepped forward, his gaze piercing and authoritative. "Go get your mate and your pack, Ralph," he commanded, his voice low but firm. "And get out of this place.” I nodded, my throat too tight to speak. As Alexander turned to leave, he placed a firm hand on my shoulder, a silent gesture of understanding and urgency. Then, without another moment’s hesitation, I bolted out of the ring and dashed through the cave, my heart pounding as I searched for Keilah. Keilah, I called out through the mindlink, desperately trying to connect with her. But there was no response. My heart clenched, fear tightening around my chest like a vice. Kei

RALPH I stared at Keilah, my heart pounding in my chest, torn between rage and panic as the echoes of the crowd’s gasps faded into the background. What was she thinking? The jug clanged as it hit the ground, and in that moment, I snapped out of my stupor. Without another thought, I moved forward, grabbing her arm and spinning her around to face me. “What the hell are you thinking?” I demanded, my voice low and intense, my eyes searching hers for an explanation. “Do you have any idea what you just did?” Her eyes met mine, and for a split second, I saw something in them—determination mixed with fear. But before I could process it, she broke into a laugh. It was forced, brittle, the sound of someone trying desperately to mask their true emotions. “Oh my God,” she gasped, clutching her stomach as if the whole thing were some sort of joke. “What did I just drink? I was so thirsty… I thought it was water, but whatever that was—ugh! It tastes awful! I hope I’m not going to die from it.”

  • TETHERED    EPISODE 73

KEILAH I stared at Damien, my mind whirling with a thousand thoughts. His sudden appearance left me speechless, and the raw intensity in his eyes sent another shiver down my spine. The anger in his voice cut through the night air, sharp and cold. My heart pounded in my chest as I struggled to find the words to explain myself. “I—I saw something,” I finally managed to stammer, my voice trembling. “Those men… they were up to something, and I had to know what it was.” “And did you find out what it was?” he demanded, his voice sharp, cutting through the darkness. The fury in his tone was unmistakable, and it sent a fresh wave of unease through me. I swallowed hard, trying to steady myself. “I was about to, but… things didn’t go my way,” I admitted, the frustration in my voice matching my racing thoughts. I could still see the shadows moving in the forest, the broad man’s hand holding the gold jug, the council member’s secretive actions. It was all so close, and yet I had nothing to s

  • TETHERED    EPISODE 72

KEILAH As we stepped into the cave, my breath caught in my throat. My mouth hung open in awe as I took in the sight before me. The cave was enormous, far larger than I could have imagined from the outside. It felt like an underground stadium, its sheer size making me feel small and insignificant. The walls stretched high above us, and the ceiling arched into a vast dome that seemed to go on forever. In the centre of the cave, where I expected to see some sort of battle ring, there was only an open space, secured by heavy steel chains forming a loose boundary. The ground was covered in sand, giving it the appearance of an arena, yet it felt unfinished, as if something crucial was missing. The emptiness of the ring added to the unsettling atmosphere, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of foreboding. As we walked further inside, I noticed the variety of packs gathered around. Some were chatting quietly among themselves, while others stood in groups, their eyes trained on us. The t

  • TETHERED    EPISODE 71

KEILAH Ralph turned at the sound of my voice, his expression shifting from focused to concerned in an instant. The two men beside him exchanged glances but said nothing, clearly attuned to the urgency in my tone.“Keilah,” Ralph said, stepping closer as I hurried toward him. His eyes were searching, full of worry. “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. “No, not exactly. It’s just… the pack members in the kitchen, they—” I faltered, struggling to find the right words. “They were being kind of creepy.”Ralph’s brow furrowed in confusion. “Creepy? How?”Before I could respond, one of the men cleared his throat. “I’ll go check on my Luna,” he said, heading off toward the house, while the other took a different route.I continued, my voice trembling slightly. “They were acting all concerned and sympathetic, which felt strange. It’s like they suddenly cared, and it threw me off.”Where have you gone, too? I was worried. I asked, not wanting to
