The Fourth Gate opened completely.

A wave of white light swept through Blackwood, forcing everyone to step back.

Kael stood at the center of the chaos, staring at the enormous doorway.

“Aria!”

His voice disappeared into the light.

Then he heard it.

A heartbeat.

Thump.

He froze.

Another followed.

Thump.

Then the third.

Thump.

Three heartbeats.

Not two.

Three.

First Guardian stared at the gate with disbelief.

“This cannot be.”

Aurel slowly shook his head.

“It has begun.”

Kael turned toward him.

“What has begun?”

Aurel looked at him.

“The birth of a new age.”

Kael's expression hardened.

“I don't care about a new age. I care about Aria.”

He stepped toward the gate.

First Guardian immediately grabbed his shoulder.

“Wait.”

Kael turned sharply.

“Let go.”

“You cannot enter yet.”

“Why?”

“Because the Fourth Gate is no longer a doorway.”

First Guardian pointed toward it.

“It has become a living passage.”

Kael looked at the swirling white light.

“What does that mean?”

“It means the gate is choosing who may pass.”

Kael stared at it.

“And if it doesn't choose me?”

First Guardian hesitated.

“Then you may never return.”

Kael's eyes remained fixed on the gate.

“I'll take that chance.”

He moved forward.

Suddenly, a silver wall appeared before him.

Kael stopped.

He placed his hand against it.

The wall pushed him back.

“Kael!”

First Guardian caught him before he fell.

Kael immediately stood.

“Again.”

“You'll hurt yourself.”

“I said again.”

He placed both hands against the barrier.

Silver light traveled through his arms.

The mark of the Guardian appeared on his palm.

But the gate remained closed to him.

Kael clenched his jaw.

“Why won't it let me through?”

First Guardian looked at the mark.

“Because you are trying to enter as the Guardian.”

Kael looked at him.

“What else can I enter as?”

First Guardian's voice became quiet.

“Kael.”

The Alpha's eyes narrowed.

“That's my name.”

“No.”

First Guardian shook his head.

“That is exactly what the gate needs.”

Kael didn't understand.

“You're saying I should enter as myself?”

“Yes.”

Kael slowly lowered his hands.

The silver barrier remained.

He closed his eyes.

For years, everyone had told him what he was.

Alpha.

Heir.

Descendant.

Guardian.

Weapon.

Vessel.

But Aria had never looked at him that way.

She had simply called him Kael.

He remembered the first time she had looked at him without fear.

He remembered her standing beside him when everyone else told her to walk away.

He remembered her choosing him when she had every reason not to.

Kael opened his eyes.

“I am not the First Alpha.”

The silver barrier trembled.

“I am not the First Guardian.”

The light grew weaker.

“I am not the First King's weapon.”

The barrier cracked.

“I am Kael.”

The silver wall shattered.

Kael stepped through.

First Guardian stared after him.

“The gate accepted him.”

Aurel's expression became serious.

“Because he finally chose himself.”

Before First Guardian could answer, the Firstborns charged.

“Protect the gate!” he shouted.

Aurel raised his hand.

A powerful wave of light swept across the ground.

The Firstborns stopped.

Kael disappeared into the Fourth Gate.

Aria stood in darkness.

She could hear the three heartbeats.

They were louder now.

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

She looked around.

“Hello?”

Her voice echoed.

Then a small light appeared in front of her.

It slowly took the shape of a child.

Aria's breath caught.

She could not see the child's face.

Only a silhouette surrounded by white light.

“Are you the third heir?”

The figure nodded.

“Who are you?”

The child remained silent.

Aria stepped closer.

“Why did you call me Mother?”

The figure reached out.

Aria hesitated.

Then she took its hand.

The moment their hands touched, a vision filled her mind.

She saw the First World.

It was beautiful.

There were forests filled with silver trees.

Rivers that shimmered beneath golden skies.

Mountains covered in white flowers.

People from different bloodlines lived together.

There were no walls.

No kings.

No armies.

No Firstborns.

No fear.

Then the First King appeared.

The beautiful world changed.

Walls rose.

The rivers darkened.

The people were separated.

Those with powerful blood were placed above everyone else.

Those without ancient blood were pushed away.

The First World became a kingdom.

Then a prison.

Aria pulled her hand away.

“No.”

The vision disappeared.

The child remained.

“Was that the past?”

The child nodded.

“Then why show me?”

The child pointed behind her.

Aria turned.

A door had appeared.

It was neither gold nor silver nor black nor white.

It was completely clear.

Through it, she could see two figures.

Kael.

And the First King.

They were both approaching.

Aria's heart raced.

“Kael is coming.”

The child nodded.

“But so is he.”

The child nodded again.

Aria looked at the transparent door.

“How do I stop the First King?”

The child finally spoke.

“Choose.”

“Choose what?”

“Everything.”

Aria frowned.

“I don't understand.”

The child's voice was soft.

“The First King wants one world under one ruler.”

Aria looked at the door.

“What do you want?”

The child looked at her.

“Three worlds.”

Aria's eyes widened.

“Three?”

The child nodded.

“The First World. Your world. And the world beyond the gates.”

Aria felt a chill.

“What is beyond the gates?”

The child pointed toward the darkness.

Aria looked.

For the first time, she noticed another doorway far behind them.

It was enormous.

And something was moving behind it.

“What is that?”

The child whispered.

“The place the First King fears.”

Aria's heart pounded.

“What is there?”

“Freedom.”

Suddenly, the entire chamber shook.

The transparent door cracked.

The First King had arrived.

His voice echoed through the darkness.

“Aria.”

She turned.

He stepped through the broken light.

His eyes went directly to the child.

“There you are.”

Aria stepped between them.

“You will not touch it.”

The First King smiled.

“You still believe you can protect it.”

“I know I can.”

“No.”

He shook his head.

“You don't even know what it is.”

Aria looked at the child.

“Then tell me.”

The First King laughed quietly.

“The third heir is not a child.”

Aria frowned.

“Then what is it?”

“The first choice.”

Silence filled the chamber.

The First King continued.

“Before the First Queen chose love, before the Guardian chose duty, before the First Alpha chose power, there was another choice.”

“What choice?”

“Freedom.”

Aria looked at the child.

The First King stepped closer.

“The third heir was created from that choice.”

Aria shook her head.

“Then why does it need me?”

“Because freedom cannot survive without someone willing to protect it.”

The First King raised his hand.

The child moved behind Aria.

“You want it,” Aria said.

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“Because I made the mistake of allowing freedom to exist once.”

His expression darkened.

“And I will never make that mistake again.”

Aria's mark began glowing.

The white light spread across her arm.

“You don't get to decide that.”

The First King moved forward.

“You are still thinking like a woman.”

“And you are still thinking like a king.”

Aria lifted her hand.

“You believe everything must belong to someone.”

The First King's eyes narrowed.

“But the Fourth Blood has taught me something.”

“What?”

“Some things belong to no one.”

White light exploded around Aria.

The First King was forced backward.

The child stepped forward.

Its white light joined Aria's.

For a moment, the entire chamber became bright.

Then another voice echoed.

“Aria!”

Her eyes widened.

“Kael.”

She turned.

Kael appeared through the transparent door.

He was breathing heavily, but he was standing.

Aria ran toward him.

This time, nothing stopped her.

They reached each other.

Kael took her hand.

“I found you.”

Aria smiled with relief.

“You shouldn't have come.”

“I wasn't going to stay behind.”

She looked at him.

“The gate almost rejected you.”

“It did.”

“What changed?”

Kael smiled.

“I stopped trying to be someone else.”

Aria's eyes softened.

“You chose yourself.”

“I chose you too.”

Aria squeezed his hand.

The three heartbeats became louder.

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

Kael looked toward the child.

“What is that?”

Aria answered quietly.

“The third heir.”

Kael stared.

The child stepped toward him.

Kael instinctively moved closer to Aria.

The child reached out.

Kael slowly offered his hand.

The moment they touched, silver and white light spread through the chamber.

Kael's eyes widened.

He saw a vision.

Aria standing before the First Gate.

He saw himself beside her.

And between them stood the child.

But there was something else.

Behind the child stood thousands of people.

People from different bloodlines.

Different worlds.

All standing together.

Kael pulled his hand away.

“What did you see?”

Aria asked.

“A future.”

“Was it good?”

Kael looked at the First King.

“That depends on what we choose.”

The First King suddenly attacked.

Kael stepped in front of Aria.

The impact sent a wave through the chamber.

Kael remained standing.

The First King looked surprised.

“You cannot defeat me.”

Kael raised his weapon.

“Maybe not alone.”

Aria stepped beside him.

“Then we won't fight alone.”

The child stood between them.

Gold light appeared around Aria.

Silver surrounded Kael.

White surrounded the child.

The three lights connected.

The First King's expression changed.

“No.”

The three lights became one.

The First King stepped backward.

“This is impossible.”

Aria looked at him.

“You said the prophecy was about rulers.”

“It was.”

“No.”

Aria shook her head.

“It was about choices.”

Kael stood beside her.

“And we choose together.”

The First King looked at the child.

“If you allow that thing to remain, it will destroy everything I created.”

The child finally spoke.

“I will not destroy your world.”

The First King stared.

“I will free it.”

The chamber shook.

The enormous door behind them began opening.

A powerful wind rushed through the room.

Aria looked toward it.

“What is beyond there?”

The First King whispered the answer.

“The First World.”

Kael frowned.

“But you said the First World was already beyond the gate.”

“It is.”

The First King looked terrified for the first time.

“But not that part.”

The door opened wider.

A vast golden light appeared.

And from beyond it came thousands of voices.

Not angry.

Not threatening.

Calling.

Waiting.

The First Mother appeared beside Aria.

“You have reached the final chamber.”

Aria stared at the open doorway.

“What happens now?”

The First Mother looked at the three of them.

“Now the choice belongs to all three heirs.”

Kael looked at Aria.

“Three heirs.”

Aria nodded.

“But who is the third?”

The First Mother smiled.

“You already know.”

Aria looked at the child.

Then the child slowly stepped forward.

Its face became visible.

Aria gasped.

It looked familiar.

Not because she had seen the child before.

But because the child's eyes carried something she knew.

Her own eyes.

And Kael's.

The First King stepped backward.

“No…”

The child looked at Aria.

“Mother.”

Then it looked at Kael.

“Father.”

Kael went completely still.

Aria's heart raced.

The First Mother spoke softly.

“The third heir has chosen you both.”

The First King shook his head.

“If the three bloodlines unite, the First World will no longer obey me.”

Aria looked at him.

“That is the point.”

The First King raised his hand.

The darkness behind him began to spread.

“If I cannot rule this world…”

His eyes turned toward the enormous gate.

“…then no one will.”

The darkness rushed toward them.

Kael grabbed Aria's hand.

The child stood between them.

Three heartbeats became one.

THUMP.

The Fourth Blood erupted.

And somewhere beyond the First World, something ancient awakened.

A voice echoed across every gate.

“The three have chosen.”

The First King looked up.

For the first time, fear filled his eyes.

Because he knew what those words meant.

The final battle had not begun.

It had already been decided.

But the choice that would determine who survived the new age was still waiting.
