LOGINThe first rays of dawn spread across the Silent Mountains.
The Temple of the First Moon had become little more than a field of broken stone.
Smoke drifted from the ruins.
Blackwood warriors searched through the rubble, helping the wounded and gathering supplies that had survived the collapse.
Near the entrance of the ruined temple, Kael sat against a large boulder while Magnus carefully wrapped fresh bandages around his shoulder.
"You should be resting," Magnus said.
Kael smiled faintly.
"I'll rest when my people are safe."
Ronan, standing nearby, laughed.
"If it didn't kill him before, I doubt it ever will."
Kael smirked.
"You're both becoming difficult."
A short distance away, Aria stood alone at the edge of a cliff.
The Crown Blade rested in her hands.
Although the battle had ended, the sword still glowed with a soft silver light.
She looked at the sunrise stretching across the mountains.
"So much has changed..."
Only a few weeks ago, she had believed she was an ordinary young woman.
Now she carried the fate of kingdoms.
Footsteps approached behind her.
She didn't need to turn around.
She recognized them.
Kael.
He stopped beside her.
"The sunrise is beautiful."
She nodded.
"It reminds me that darkness never lasts forever."
For a while, they simply stood together, watching the golden light spread across the valleys below.
Then Kael quietly asked,
"What are you thinking about?"
Aria lowered her eyes.
"The Eclipse King."
Kael's expression grew serious.
"So am I."
Lucien walked toward them, carrying an old leather-bound journal covered in dust.
"I found this beneath the temple."
He handed it to Aria.
"It belonged to your father."
Aria carefully accepted the journal.
Her fingers trembled.
"My father's..."
The Moonblood crest was engraved on the cover.
When she opened it, the first page bore a single sentence.
"If you are reading this, my daughter, then fate has finally led you here."
Tears filled Aria's eyes.
She turned the page.
Another entry had been written in King Aldric's elegant handwriting.
"The Eclipse King is not merely an enemy. He was once the greatest friend our family ever had."
Aria froze.
"What?"
Kael looked over her shoulder.
"That can't be."
Lucien's face lost its color.
"I was afraid of this."
Aria quickly read the next lines aloud.
"His true name was Cassian. He grew up beside me like a brother. Together we swore to protect the Moonblood Kingdom forever."
Ronan frowned.
"If they were brothers..."
"What happened?"
Lucien closed his eyes.
"I know only part of the story."
"Cassian disappeared years before the kingdom fell."
"When he returned..."
"He was no longer the man we knew."
A cold wind swept through the ruins.
Magnus stared toward the northern horizon.
"The darkness changed him."
"No," Lucien replied softly.
"The darkness found the pain already inside him."
Before anyone could speak again, a Blackwood scout raced up the mountain path on horseback.
"My Alpha!"
The horse was covered in sweat.
The scout leaped down and bowed.
"We've received messages from the Seven Packs."
Kael immediately stood.
"What happened?"
"The Eclipse King's army has begun marching south."
"How large?"
The scout swallowed nervously.
"We counted over fifty thousand warriors."
Silence fell.
Even Ronan struggled to believe the number.
"Fifty thousand..."
The scout nodded.
"And they're not attacking villages."
Kael frowned.
"Then where are they going?"
The scout looked toward Aria.
"They're coming..."
"...to Blackwood."
A heavy silence settled over the mountain.
The Eclipse King wasn't hiding anymore.
He wasn't sending generals or spies.
He was coming himself.
And the greatest war in werewolf history was about to begin.
The mountain fell silent.
Only the cold wind whispered through the broken ruins of the Temple of the First Moon.
"Fifty thousand warriors..." Ronan repeated, hardly believing the number.
"That's enough to wipe out every pack in the south."
Kael's expression remained calm, but his mind was already racing.
"How long until they reach Blackwood?"
The scout bowed his head.
"If they continue at their current pace..."
"...seven days."
Magnus tightened his grip on his staff.
"Seven days isn't enough."
"We'll need months to prepare for a war of that size."
Lucien looked toward the north.
"The Eclipse King isn't trying to conquer Blackwood."
"He's trying to force Aria out."
Aria frowned.
"Why me?"
Lucien sighed.
"Because you are the last obstacle standing between him and complete control of the werewolf world."
Kael turned to Ronan.
"Gather everyone."
"We're leaving immediately."
Within minutes, the survivors packed what little remained from the temple.
The wounded were placed on horses.
The dead were wrapped in white cloth so they could be buried with honor once they returned home.
Before leaving, Aria walked back to the ruined temple.
She knelt where the Crown Blade had first awakened.
"Thank you," she whispered.
"For believing in me."
A gentle breeze stirred around her.
For a brief moment, she thought she heard Queen Elyria's voice.
"Lead with courage."
Then the wind faded.
Three days later...
The gates of Blackwood Fortress came into view.
The guards on the walls erupted into cheers.
"The Alpha has returned!"
"They're alive!"
The massive gates swung open.
Families rushed forward, searching for loved ones.
Some laughed with relief.
Others cried as they learned who would never return.
The victory over the Devourer had come at a painful cost.
Kael watched quietly as one little boy hugged his wounded father.
He smiled.
"This..."
"This is why we fight."
Aria slipped her hand into his.
"So they'll always have a home."
Kael looked at her, his heart warming despite the coming storm.
"As long as I breathe."
Inside the Great Hall, leaders from the surrounding packs had already arrived.
The atmosphere was tense.
Maps covered the long wooden table.
Red markers showed the reported movements of the Eclipse army.
An elderly Alpha struck the table with his fist.
"We should abandon Blackwood!"
"We can't fight fifty thousand warriors!"
Another Alpha shook his head.
"If Blackwood falls, the rest of us fall next."
The room erupted into an argument.
"They're too strong!"
"We need reinforcements!"
"We should negotiate!"
"There can be no negotiation with the Eclipse King!"
The shouting grew louder.
Then—
The doors opened.
Aria entered beside Kael, carrying the Crown Blade.
The room became silent.
Every Alpha stared at the legendary weapon.
Several immediately lowered their heads.
Others looked at Aria with cautious hope.
Kael stepped forward.
"The Queen has something to say."
Aria looked around the hall.
She saw fear.
Exhaustion.
Doubt.
She understood every one of those feelings.
Taking a deep breath, she spoke.
"I won't lie to you."
"Our enemy is powerful."
"We may lose friends."
"We may lose our family."
The room remained silent.
"But if we surrender because we're afraid..."
"Then we've already lost."
She placed the Crown Blade on the table.
Its silver light spread across the maps.
"I won't force anyone to fight."
"Anyone who wishes to leave may leave with my blessing."
"No one will be called a coward."
Several Alphas exchanged surprised glances.
Aria continued.
"But those who stay..."
"...will never stand alone."
For a long moment, no one spoke.
Then an elderly Alpha slowly rose to his feet.
He drew his sword.
Kneeling before Aria, he lowered the blade.
"My pack stands with the Queen."
Another Alpha stood.
"So does mine."
One by one, every Alpha in the hall knelt.
Soon dozens of swords rested on the stone floor.
Kael watched with pride.
For the first time in generations...
The divided packs were becoming one.
That night...
Long after the meeting ended...
Aria stood alone on the castle balcony.
The moon hung high above Blackwood.
She couldn't shake the feeling that something was watching her.
A familiar voice broke the silence.
"You carry too much on your shoulders."
She turned.
Kael walked toward her, two cups of warm herbal tea in his hands.
He handed one to her.
"You haven't slept."
"Neither have you," she replied with a small smile.
He chuckled.
"I suppose we're equally guilty."
They stood side by side, looking over the sleeping fortress.
After a long silence, Kael spoke softly.
"When this war is over..."
"I want to show you something."
Aria looked at him curiously.
"What is it?"
He smiled.
"A place I used to visit as a child."
"It's quiet."
"No battles."
"No responsibilities."
"Just peace."
Aria smiled.
"Then promise me."
"What?"
"That when we win..."
"You'll take me there."
Kael looked into her silver eyes.
"I promise."
Before either of them realized how close they had become...
Their foreheads gently touched.
Neither spoke.
Neither needed to.
But high above Blackwood Castle...
Hidden among the clouds...
A pair of crimson eyes watched them.
A deep, emotionless voice echoed through the darkness.
"So..."
"The Alpha has fallen in love."
A faint smile crossed the unseen figure's face.
"Good."
"That will make breaking him... much easier."
The Eclipse King had found his first weapon.
And it wasn't an army.
It was Kael's heart.
The first light of dawn had barely touched the walls of Blackwood Fortress when the alarm bells rang.
Dong!
Dong!
Dong!
Every warrior in the fortress sprang into action.
Kael was already awake.
He grabbed his sword and rushed from his chamber.
"What happened?"
A guard saluted hurriedly.
"My Alpha!"
"A rider has arrived from the Iron Fang Pack."
"He's badly wounded."
The castle gates opened.
A lone horse staggered into the courtyard before collapsing from exhaustion.
Its rider fell to the ground.
His armor was torn apart, and blood covered his chest.
Ronan rushed forward and caught him.
"Easy."
"We've got you."
The messenger struggled to breathe.
"They..."
"They destroyed Iron Fang."
The courtyard fell silent.
Kael's eyes narrowed.
"What do you mean?"
The messenger coughed weakly.
"The Eclipse King attacked at dawn."
"It wasn't a battle..."
"It was a massacre."
Aria's heart sank.
"What about Alpha Garrick?"
The messenger closed his eyes.
"He stayed behind so the children could escape."
"He never came out."
A heavy silence settled over the courtyard.
Everyone knew what that meant.
Inside the council hall...
The surviving leaders gathered once again.
The messenger pointed to the map spread across the table.
"They didn't occupy the territory."
"They burned everything."
Magnus frowned.
"Why destroy a pack without taking its land?"
Lucien answered quietly.
"Because Cassian isn't trying to build a kingdom."
"He's trying to destroy hope."
The room grew cold.
Selene clenched her fists.
"If we wait behind these walls..."
"The same thing will happen to every pack."
Kael nodded.
"He's forcing us to make the first move."
That afternoon...
Aria walked through Blackwood Village.
Children were helping carry supplies.
Women prepared bandages and food.
Old warriors sharpened weapons despite their age.
No one was running.
No one was surrendering.
They were preparing.
A little girl tugged gently on Aria's sleeve.
"Your Majesty?"
Aria smiled warmly.
"You don't have to call me that."
The little girl held out a small wildflower.
"My mommy says queens are supposed to have flowers."
Aria accepted it with a smile.
"Thank you."
The child hesitated.
"Are you really going to fight the bad king?"
"I am."
The little girl's eyes filled with fear.
"Will you come back?"
Aria looked at the innocent face before her.
She could not promise something she wasn't certain of.
So she knelt and answered honestly.
"I will do everything I can."
The little girl hugged her tightly.
"I'll pray for you."
Aria hugged her back.
"And I'll fight for you."
As evening approached...
A horn sounded from the northern watchtower.
One long blast.
Then another.
Scouts.
Kael, Ronan, and Aria hurried onto the walls.
A group of Blackwood scouts galloped toward the fortress.
Their leader barely slowed his horse.
"My Alpha!"
"We found them."
Kael's expression hardened.
"Where?"
The scout pointed toward the distant northern hills.
"The Eclipse army has made camp."
"Less than twenty miles away."
Gasps spread across the wall.
"They're here already?"
The scout nodded.
"And..."
He hesitated.
"There was something else."
Kael waited.
"We saw only one tent."
Ronan frowned.
"One?"
The scout swallowed.
"One enormous black tent."
"No soldiers."
"No campfires."
"No patrols."
"Just..."
"Him."
Lucien's face turned pale.
"Impossible."
Aria looked at him.
"What is it?"
Lucien spoke in a whisper.
"When Cassian goes to war..."
"He always walks alone first."
"He gives his enemies one chance."
"One chance for peace."
Before anyone could respond—
A calm voice echoed across the valley.
It was impossible.
The speaker stood nearly twenty miles away.
Yet every person on Blackwood's walls heard him as clearly as if he were standing beside them.
"Aria Moonblood."
Every head turned north.
A lone figure dressed in a long black cloak stood atop a distant hill.
He was too far away to make out clearly.
Yet his crimson eyes glowed like twin stars.
"Come and speak with me."
"Alone."
The voice faded.
The figure vanished into the evening mist.
Silence gripped the fortress.
Kael's hand tightened around the hilt of his sword.
"You're not going."
Lucien looked toward the empty hill.
"I know Cassian."
"If he gave his word..."
"He will wait until sunrise."
Aria continued staring into the darkness where the figure had disappeared.
She had never met the Eclipse King.
Yet hearing his voice filled her with an unexplainable feeling.
It wasn't just fear.
It was as though...
He already knew her.
And tomorrow, for the first time, the Queen of Moonblood and the Eclipse King would stand face to face.
No one slept that night.
The halls of Blackwood Castle remained lit until dawn.
Warriors sharpened their weapons in silence.
Healers prepared herbs and bandages.
Scouts came and went with reports from the northern hills.
Yet the same question lingered in everyone's mind.
Would Aria go?
Inside the council chamber, the atmosphere was tense.
Kael stood at the head of the table.
"You are not meeting him alone."
His voice left no room for argument.
Aria met his gaze.
"If I refuse, he'll attack Blackwood."
"If I go with an army, he'll see it as a declaration of war."
Ronan folded his arms.
"It's probably a trap."
"It almost certainly is," Lucien agreed.
"Then why would we walk into it?"
Lucien looked toward the window where the first light of dawn was beginning to appear.
"Because Cassian always keeps one promise."
"He never attacks during a negotiation."
Kael frowned.
"Do you trust him?"
Lucien's expression darkened.
"I trust the man he used to be."
"The man he has become..."
"I no longer know."
As the sun climbed over the mountains, Aria stood outside the castle gates.
She wore a simple white cloak over her fighting clothes.
The Crown Blade rested at her side.
Kael walked toward her.
Neither of them spoke for a long moment.
Finally, he broke the silence.
"I don't like this."
She smiled faintly.
"I know."
He reached into his pocket and removed a small silver pendant shaped like a wolf.
"My mother gave this to me when I was a child."
"It was supposed to bring me home safely."
He placed it gently in Aria's hand.
"Now..."
"I want it to bring you back."
Aria's eyes softened.
"I'll return it to you myself."
Kael nodded, though worry still filled his eyes.
"I'll be waiting."
The meeting place was an open meadow surrounded by ancient oak trees.
Morning dew still clung to the grass.
Just as the scouts had reported...
Only one man stood there.
The Eclipse King.
He wore black armor trimmed with silver.
A long crimson cloak flowed behind him in the breeze.
His dark hair reached his shoulders.
His face showed no cruelty.
Only sadness.
His crimson eyes met Aria's silver ones.
For several moments...
Neither spoke.
Finally, he smiled.
"You look just like your mother."
Aria stopped walking.
"You knew her?"
"I did."
"And your father."
His voice was calm.
"We were once family."
Aria tightened her grip on the Crown Blade.
"My father called you his brother."
Cassian lowered his eyes.
"He did."
"What happened?"
A faint, bitter smile crossed his face.
"I made a choice."
"And I have been paying for it ever since."
Aria studied him carefully.
This wasn't the monster she had imagined.
He carried himself like a king.
Not a tyrant.
"Why are you attacking the packs?"
Cassian looked toward the distant mountains.
"Tell me, Aria."
"What have they taught you about me?"
"That you want to conquer the werewolf world."
He chuckled softly.
"A convenient story."
He turned back to her.
"I don't want the world."
"I want to save it."
Aria frowned.
"By slaughtering innocent people?"
Pain flashed across his face.
"I never ordered the deaths of children."
"I never ordered villages burned."
Her heart skipped.
"Then who did?"
Cassian's expression became cold.
"Someone is using my war..."
"...to create something far worse."
Before Aria could question him further—
A sharp whistle cut through the air.
Cassian's eyes widened.
"No!"
An arrow streaked toward Aria from the forest.
Cassian moved instantly.
He shoved Aria aside.
The arrow struck his shoulder instead.
He staggered back.
The arrowhead was coated in shimmering black poison.
Figures in black masks burst from the trees.
None wore the Eclipse crest.
None carried the banners of any known pack.
Their leader laughed.
"Perfect."
"Kill them both."
Aria stared in shock.
"They're trying to assassinate you?"
Cassian snapped the arrow shaft and drew his sword.
"It seems..."
"They don't want the truth revealed."
For the first time...
The Queen of Moonblood and the Eclipse King stood side by side.
Facing a common enemy neither of them had expected.
The masked assassins charged without hesitation.
There were twenty of them.
Everyone was dressed in black from head to toe.
No crest.
No pack markings.
No words.
Only death.
The leader pointed his curved blade at Aria.
"Leave no witnesses."
Three assassins rushed toward her at once.
Aria drew the Crown Blade.
Silver light flashed across the meadow.
The first assassin swung a poisoned dagger.
Aria sidestepped and struck with the flat of her blade.
The force sent him crashing into the grass.
The second attacked from behind.
Before Aria could turn—
Clang!
Cassian blocked the strike.
"You need to watch your blind side," he said calmly.
Aria stared at him.
"You just saved my life."
He gave a faint smile.
"I wasn't planning to let you die today."
The assassins surrounded them.
Their leader laughed.
"How touching."
"The Queen and the Eclipse King fighting together."
He raised his hand.
"Release them."
The remaining assassins stepped back.
One by one, they removed small glass spheres from their belts.
Cassian's expression changed instantly.
"Get down!"
The spheres shattered against the ground.
Black smoke erupted in every direction.
The grass withered.
Trees blackened.
Even the air became difficult to breathe.
"Shadow Mist," Cassian muttered.
"It feeds on fear."
Aria felt strange whispers creeping into her mind.
"You're too weak..."
"Everyone you love will die..."
"You're alone..."
She gripped the Crown Blade tighter.
"No."
The blade answered her resolve.
Its runes ignited.
A wave of silver light burst outward, tearing through the black mist.
The whispers vanished.
Fresh air rushed back into the meadow.
The assassins looked at one another in alarm.
"The sacred blade..."
"It's stronger than the reports."
Far across the field...
Kael stood hidden among the trees.
He had ignored Aria's request to remain behind.
He couldn't risk her life.
Ronan crouched beside him.
"So much for a peaceful meeting."
Kael's golden eyes never left the battlefield.
"They're not Eclipse soldiers."
"I know."
"Then who are they?"
Lucien stepped from the shadows.
"If someone profits from this war..."
"They would never want Aria and Cassian speaking."
Kael's eyes narrowed.
"Then we've all been manipulated."
Back in the meadow...
The masked leader clapped slowly.
"Very impressive."
"But it changes nothing."
He removed his hood.
A long scar stretched across his face.
One eye was clouded white.
Cassian froze.
"You..."
The man smiled cruelly.
"It's been a long time."
Aria looked between them.
"You know him?"
Cassian's voice hardened.
"His name is Darius."
"He was captain of my royal guard."
Lucien stepped into the clearing.
"So..."
"It was you."
Darius laughed loudly.
"Congratulations."
"It only took eight hundred years."
Aria's heart pounded.
"You're a traitor."
The smile on Darius's face widened.
"Finally."
"Someone intelligent."
The entire meadow fell silent.
Cassian gripped his sword so tightly his knuckles turned white.
"You betrayed King Aldric."
"I betrayed no one."
Darius replied coldly.
"I simply chose the side that was destined to win."
"You murdered thousands!"
"I created a new age."
He spread his arms.
"The Moonblood Kingdom was weak."
"It believed in mercy."
"It believed enemies could become friends."
He sneered.
"And look where that left it."
Aria stepped forward, fury burning in her silver eyes.
"My parents trusted you."
"They did."
"And that trust made them easy to destroy."
Cassian lunged with a roar.
Their swords collided in a shower of sparks.
The battle that had waited eight centuries had finally begun.
But as Aria watched the two ancient enemies clash...
One question echoed in her mind.
If Darius was the true traitor...
Then who was the mysterious force that had corrupted him all those centuries ago?
The answer, she feared, would be even darker than the betrayal itself.
Steel rang through the meadow.
Cassian and Darius moved so quickly that their swords became flashes of silver and black.
Clang!
Clang!
Clang!
The force of each strike tore up the ground beneath their feet.
For a moment, neither man gained the advantage.
Darius grinned.
"You've grown weaker, old friend."
Cassian's crimson eyes hardened.
"No."
"I've simply grown tired of killing."
With a powerful swing, Cassian forced Darius backward several steps.
The remaining masked assassins rushed toward Aria.
This time, Kael did not stay hidden.
With a thunderous roar, he burst from the forest.
His black wolf crashed into the first assassin, sending him flying across the meadow.
Ronan, Selene, and a squad of Blackwood warriors followed close behind.
"For the Queen!" Ronan shouted.
The battle spread across the field.
Aria looked at Kael in surprise.
"I told you to stay at the fortress."
Kael smiled as he blocked an assassin's blade.
"And let you have all the fun?"
She couldn't help laughing despite the danger.
"You never listen."
"Not when it comes to you."
Meanwhile...
Darius leaped backward, creating distance between himself and Cassian.
He looked around the battlefield.
"So..."
"The Alpha and the Eclipse King fight on the same side."
"What an interesting sight."
Cassian lowered his sword.
"You started this war."
Darius laughed.
"No."
"I merely guided it."
He pointed toward Aria.
"She thinks you're the villain."
He pointed toward Kael.
"The packs think you're a monster."
"Everything has gone exactly as I planned."
Lucien stepped forward.
"Why?"
"What could you possibly gain?"
Darius's smile slowly disappeared.
"For eight hundred years..."
"I have served someone greater than kings."
Someone greater?
Aria frowned.
"Who?"
Darius looked toward the dark clouds gathering above the mountains.
"He is the one who whispered to me the night your kingdom fell."
"He showed me how weak mercy truly is."
"He promised a world where only the strong would rule."
Magnus's face turned pale.
"No..."
"It can't be."
Lucien turned sharply.
"You know who he's talking about?"
Magnus nodded slowly.
"There is an ancient name..."
"A name so feared that even speaking it was forbidden."
He whispered it.
"The Shadow Sovereign."
The wind stopped.
Even the birds fell silent.
Darius smiled.
"At last."
"Someone remembers."
Without warning, the sky darkened.
The sun vanished behind thick black clouds.
A freezing wind swept across the meadow.
Every warrior looked upward.
High above them...
A crack appeared in the sky itself.
Dark energy poured from it like smoke.
Aria felt the Crown Blade vibrate in her hand.
The Moon Pendant around her neck burned against her skin.
Queen Elyria's voice echoed faintly in her heart.
"The ancient darkness is awakening..."
Darius laughed louder than ever.
"My master has slept for centuries."
"But thanks to all your battles..."
"Your hatred."
"Your fear."
"And your desire for revenge..."
"You have fed his prison."
Cassian's face became grim.
"What have you done?"
Darius spread his arms.
"I've prepared the world."
"For his return."
Before anyone could react—
A beam of black lightning shot from the crack in the sky.
It struck Darius directly.
Instead of killing him...
It transformed him.
Dark armor covered his body.
Black flames surrounded him.
His scarred face twisted in agony before settling into a cold smile.
His clouded eye turned completely black.
A voice echoed from his mouth.
It was not Darius's.
It was deeper.
Older.
Filled with endless malice.
"The seal weakens..."
"Soon..."
"I shall walk this world again."
The ground beneath everyone's feet trembled.
Kael tightened his grip on his sword.
Aria raised the Crown Blade.
Cassian slowly stepped beside them.
For the first time...
The Alpha King...
The Queen of Moonblood...
And the Eclipse King stood shoulder to shoulder.
Not as enemies.
But as the only three people capable of stopping a darkness that had manipulated the world for eight hundred years.
Far away, hidden beneath the ruins of the ancient Moonblood capital...
Two crimson eyes slowly opened in the darkness.
And an ancient voice whispered,
"Find the Queen..."
"Bring her to me..."
"Alive."
The voice faded.
Silence settled over the battlefield.
Then Darius laughed.
It was no longer the laugh of a man.
It sounded like dozens of voices speaking at once.
"You are too late."
"The Shadow Sovereign has awakened."
Aria tightened her grip on the Crown Blade.
"The Shadow Sovereign will never rule this world."
Darius smiled.
"Brave words."
"But can you protect everyone?"
He snapped his fingers.
The earth beneath the meadow exploded.
Black vines burst from the ground, wrapping around the legs of Blackwood warriors and Eclipse soldiers alike.
The vines did not care whose blood they drank.
They pierced flesh and began draining life from anyone they touched.
"Help them!" Aria shouted.
She slashed the nearest vine with the Crown Blade.
The moment the blade touched it, the vine shriveled into ash.
Kael and Cassian immediately followed her lead.
Soon the battlefield became a desperate struggle—not against each other, but against the spreading darkness.
Selene fired glowing arrows into the mass of twisting vines.
Each arrow burst into silver flames, burning dozens at a time.
Ronan fought beside Kael, cutting warriors free.
"Since when do we rescue Eclipse soldiers?" Ronan asked as he severed another vine.
Kael didn't hesitate.
"Today they're victims."
"Not enemies."
One young Eclipse warrior stared at Kael in disbelief after being rescued.
"Why... why would you save me?"
Kael wiped blood from his cheek.
"Because this war ends today."
"Not with revenge."
"But with choice."
The young warrior lowered his sword.
Then, one by one, several Eclipse soldiers followed his example.
They turned to fight the vines instead of Blackwood.
Darius's smile faded.
"No..."
"This isn't how it's supposed to happen."
Cassian saw the opening.
With a roar, he charged.
His sword flashed toward Darius's chest.
But just before the blade struck—
A wall of black fire erupted between them.
Cassian was thrown backward, crashing into a fallen oak tree.
"Cassian!" Aria cried.
He struggled to stand, coughing blood.
"I'm... fine."
Though everyone could see he wasn't.
The poison from the earlier arrow was still spreading through his body.
Magnus raised his staff toward the dark sky.
"The Shadow Sovereign grows stronger with every heartbeat."
Lucien looked toward the widening crack overhead.
"Can it be sealed?"
Magnus answered honestly.
"Yes."
"But not here."
"Then where?"
Magnus hesitated.
"There is one place."
"The Eternal Moon Shrine."
Aria looked at him.
"I've never heard of it."
"Almost no one has."
"It is older than the Moonblood Kingdom itself."
"It was built where the Moon Goddess first blessed the werewolves."
Lucien's expression brightened with hope.
"If the shrine still exists..."
"The Shadow Sovereign's prison can be restored."
"But reaching it won't be easy," Magnus warned.
"It lies beyond the Ashen Wastes."
"A land no pack has crossed in centuries."
Darius slowly rose to his feet.
Black energy swirled around him.
"You won't make it that far."
He lifted his hands.
The crack in the sky widened again.
From its darkness descended three enormous creatures.
They resembled wolves...
But their bodies were made entirely of living shadow.
Each stood twice the height of a normal Alpha.
Their crimson eyes glowed with hunger.
The ground froze wherever they stepped.
Magnus whispered in horror,
"The Shadow Hounds..."
Darius pointed toward Aria.
"Bring me the Queen."
The three beasts roared together and charged.
Kael stepped in front of Aria.
Cassian stood at her left.
Lucien took her right.
Ronan, Selene, and the Blackwood warriors formed a circle around them.
For the first time since the war began...
Former enemies stood as one.
Aria slowly lifted the Crown Blade.
Its silver light reflected in every determined face around her.
She drew a deep breath.
"Together."
Kael smiled.
"Together."
The Shadow Hounds leaped through the air.
And the battle for the future of every werewolf pack truly began.
“Aria.”The voice echoed through the First World.Aria stood completely still. She had heard that voice before. Not with her ears.In dreams. In visions.Inside the ancient chamber beneath Blackwood. The First Queen. The woman whose blood flowed through Aria's veins. The woman whose choices had shaped the prophecy. The woman who had disappeared from history. And now she was calling Aria's name.“Come to me.”Aria looked toward the enormous opening above the First World.A figure slowly emerged from the golden darkness. She wore a long white gown that moved as though it were floating on water. Her hair seemed to carry strands of silver light, and her eyes held the same golden glow Aria had seen in the ancient visions. The entire First World became silent.Even the First King lowered his head.Kael stepped closer to Aria.“Is that really her?”Aria swallowed.“I think so.”The First Mother stared at the woman descending from the darkness.“It is.”First Guardian looked shocked.“The Fir
The darkness rushed toward them.Aria barely had time to react.Kael grabbed her hand, while the third heir stood between them. White light burst from the child's body, meeting the darkness before it could reach them. The entire chamber shook. The First King stood at the other side of the room, his expression hard.“You think that little light can stop me?”The child did not answer.Instead, the white light expanded. It spread across the floor, climbed the walls, and reached the ceiling of the First World. For the first time, Aria could see beyond the chamber. The First World stretched endlessly before her.Ancient cities.Silver forests.Golden rivers.Mountains covered in mist. And thousands of beings standing beneath the sky, watching the light. Some looked toward Aria. Some looked toward Kael. But all of them looked at the child. The First Mother stepped forward.“The choice has been heard.”The First King raised his hand.“Enough!”A wave of dark energy struck the white light.Th
The Fourth Gate opened completely.A wave of white light swept through Blackwood, forcing everyone to step back.Kael stood at the center of the chaos, staring at the enormous doorway.“Aria!”His voice disappeared into the light. Then he heard it.A heartbeat.Thump.He froze.Another followed.Thump.Then the third.Thump.Three heartbeats. Not two.Three.First Guardian stared at the gate with disbelief.“This cannot be.”Aurel slowly shook his head.“It has begun.”Kael turned toward him.“What has begun?”Aurel looked at him.“The birth of a new age.”Kael's expression hardened.“I don't care about a new age. I care about Aria.”He stepped toward the gate.First Guardian immediately grabbed his shoulder.“Wait.”Kael turned sharply.“Let go.”“You cannot enter yet.”“Why?”“Because the Fourth Gate is no longer a doorway.”First Guardian pointed toward it.“It has become a living passage.”Kael looked at the swirling white light.“What does that mean?”“It means the gate is choosi
The ancient eyes opened.Aria froze. The golden forest around her had gone completely silent. Even the strange wind that had been moving through the trees had disappeared. She could still hear the three heartbeats.Thump.Thump.Thump.They were not coming from three different directions. They were coming from within the same place.Within her.Aria slowly placed a hand over her chest.“What is happening to me?”The First Mother stood several steps away, her expression unusually serious.“The prophecy was never about two heirs.”Aria looked at her.“Then why have I always heard about two?”“Because that was the prophecy the First King wanted everyone to believe.”A cold feeling passed through Aria.“The First King changed the prophecy?”“He did not change it,” the First Mother replied. “He hid part of it.”Aria looked toward the white door behind her.“What is the third heir?”The First Mother did not answer immediately.Instead, she walked toward the four symbols floating above the g
Aria disappeared. One moment, she was standing beside Kael. The next, the Fourth Gate closed around her, swallowing the golden light and leaving nothing behind.“ARIA!”Kael rushed forward. His hand struck the stone where the gate had been.Nothing.No opening. No crack. No trace of her.“Aria!”His voice echoed through the valley. The First Guardian slowly stood.“Kael…”“Open it.”The Guardian stared at the mountain.“I can't.”Kael turned sharply.“You opened the First Gate.”“I did.”“Then open this one!”“I can't.”Kael grabbed his cloak.“Then find someone who can!”The Guardian looked into his eyes.“There may be no one.”Kael released him.His breathing became heavy.“No.”He turned back toward the sealed gate.“She is still alive.”The Guardian nodded.“Yes.”“How do you know?”“Because if she had died…”The Guardian looked at the mark that remained glowing faintly on the stone.“…the Fourth Blood would have disappeared.”Kael stared at the symbol.“What is the Fourth Blood?”
The mountain shook violently.Snow poured from the cliffs, covering the ground in a thick white cloud. Massive stones broke loose and crashed into the valley.“GET BACK!” Ronan shouted. The warriors scattered.Kael didn't move.Aurel stood before him, surrounded by golden light. His wings stretched behind him, casting a massive shadow across the battlefield.Kael's silver eyes burned brighter.Aria watched them face each other. The First Guardian grabbed her arm.“Aria, we have to move.”She pulled away.“No.”“It's too dangerous.”“I can't leave Kael.”The Guardian stared at her.“You don't understand what you're watching.”Aria looked at Aurel.“The First Father.”“Yes.”“And Kael carries the blood of the First Alpha.”The Guardian nodded.“Those two bloodlines have not faced each other since the beginning of the First World.”Aria looked toward Kael.“Then this battle isn't really about them.”The Guardian's expression darkened.“No.”“It's about the twins.”A deep rumble came from
