CHAPTER FOUR

CHAPTER FOUR

Harriet’s POV:

I have never heard of the Red Moon Pack before, it was the first time of me hearing about it and meeting it’s soon–to–be strange but very attractive Alpha, Tyler. And his little son who kept calling me his mother for some reason. So if I have never met him before or been to the pack, how come Tyler knew me, called me a strange name and had painted me in their home? Everything was so confusing.

I made a mental note to ask my father by the time I get back home.

“Honey, how I wish you can remember me and who I am.” Tyler said to me and the way he said it, the way his voice smoothly aired from his lips gave me goosebumps. And he called me honey? I’m very sure I have never met him before, so what was there to remember? Nothing.

“Please mummy, come home with us. Daddy talks about you all the time and he misses you so much.” Nelson began to plead again and to be honest, I was sick and tired of hearing him saying that. I’m not his mother for Christ’s sake!

“Please come back home and live with us mummy, please.” He continued to plead and I sighed, who put this child into believing the notion that I was his mother? How? I was sick and tired of the strange man— future Alpha Tyler and his son who won’t just keep shut.

I sighed, “Kyla, let’s leave please.” I said to her, signalling her that it was time for our overdue departure.

“I’m not your mother, little boy.” I said to Nelson, a bit sternly so that I would emphasize my point but not so much that it would come off as harsh and make him cry. “And Tyler. I think there’s a honest misunderstanding here. I’m not Ivory or whoever, and I’d appreciate it if you don’t go around kissing random girls at parties. Good night.” I said to Tyler and turned around to leave, leaving him stunned and speechless.

“My Princess, I wonder why that man was acting so strange and his son was calling you his mother.” Kyla said to me as we walked away.

“Me too. I will ask my father by the time we return back home.” And I was sure about it. I would like to know why Tyler keeps calling me Ivory and all about his pack, The Red Star pack.

We hadn’t stepped far away from Tyler and his son when a beautifully dressed girl stormed past us, nearly knocking me over. “Get out of the fucking way.” She yelled at me as she pushed me away.

I swung around immediately to give her a yelling of her own but I saw that she had already thrown herself at Tyler, embracing him with a hug. Looking closely, I saw that it was Hattie. The birthday celebrant’s daughter, the daughter of the rich tycoon. She had given him such a big hug that to accommodate her, Tyler had to drop Nelson on the floor. Both Tyler and Nelson’s faces looked like they didn’t want to see Hattie.

“Tyler honey, I’ve been looking for you for so long. Why did you leave us? Come on, let’s go and dance.” She said to him and grabbed his arm, dragging him to the dancefloor. I saw that Tyler was about to call for Nelson, but immediately Hattie began to drag him away, Nelson ran to where I stood and it was then Tyler had a satisfactory smile and followed Hattie to the dancefloor?

What? I was the babysitter now? Really? They’re leaving me with this boy who talks way too much for my liking?

“My princess, we're supposed to be leaving now!” Kyla reminded me and I sighed, looking down at the little boy now holding onto my gown and then started back at Kyla.

“I guess we’ll have to stay behind for a little while.” I said to her and just before Kyla could protest, a group of girls passed by us, intercepting our discussion with theirs.

“Look at Hattie, throwing herself at Tyler again. Imagine such a pretty and rich girl like her doing something embarrassing like that.” One of the girls said to the rest.

“True. I heard she’s crazily in love with him and was willing to be his concubine. I feel pity for her.” Another said and that was all we heard before the group of girls passed by, grossly involved in their gossip.

I looked at Hattie on the dance floor. She was a pretty girl and gorgeously dressed— she had on a red frilly ball gown and had her brown hair sleeker back into a beautiful bun with ornate jewelry scattered across. But Tyler didn’t look so happy dancing with her, even though she was so beautiful.

“I hate her.” I stared down at Nelson, who’s mouth those strong words came out from.

I arched my brows, “Why?”

“I don’t want her to be my new mother. I want you.” He said and I saw it deep in his eyes with the way his little eyes stared at her with contempt. New mother huh? That means his real mother must’ve died or something happened to her. Coincidentally, she looked like me and that’s why he keeps calling me his mother.

“What happened to your old mother?” I asked Nelson.

“They said she went to live in another pack.” He answered and I knew instantly that the woman was dead, they had just said that to the little boy just to make him feel better.

“I don’t want Hattie. Please make her go away from my daddy.” Nelson pleaded and I gave Kyla a look, she shrugged in response so I guess she’s cool with us staying a little late because I feel like helping the adorable boy.

“Okay, I will make her go away from your daddy.” I answered, assuring him and his eyes lit up in happiness.

“Really? How?” He asked excitedly.

I smirked, “You’ll see.”
