Breakfast today was quite awkward.Jared slept over, probably because of what I said to him. Although my greedy side wanted to hide Lucian away from him forever, I couldn’t do that.Especially not after I saw how eager Lucian seemed to meet him.However, what I saw this breakfast was far more different from what I expected.Asides the estranged relationship between Jared and I, Lucian, for some reason, acted indifferent and reserved throughout the breakfast. ‘’You must warn your pack members, Alpha Henderson.’’ I say from the couch as soon as Jared opened the door. I calmly turn my head towards him, meeting his gaze head on without falter.‘’I take it that the head teacher has informed you of what happened between Lucian and those pups?’’‘’......’’ Jared holds my gaze for a moment before walking inside and closing the door.‘’He’s asleep?’’ He asks first.I nod without a word and stand up, leaving my phone aside on the couch. Before Lucian went to bed, his tears lasted for quite a while. He had even dozed off in my arms, but I had no choice but to force him awake to wash him up and have him eat dinner.‘’Yes, he is.’’ I walk up to him, putting a reasonable distance between us, and faced him. ‘’Has the head teacher informed you of what happened today, Alpha Henderson?’’‘’...He has.’’‘’What are your thoughts on this?’’ I ask, intentionally testing him. Even if I instinctively knew the outcome of this question, I still held a bit of hope.
