"Amongst the packs, except the Crescents pack, The Craving Festival of Peace was celebrated. It stood as a day in remembrance, where all packs in the Western Mountain of Jacksonville came together in the name of peace.

The Crescent Moon Pack became angrier at this festival. They never attended because, to them, the war wasn't near over. The Crescents had a plan."

"Midnighter, wake up! I can hear your heartbeat," a commanding male voice suddenly called.

The voice was sharp and clean, commanding verbal authority.

Alicia jolted in her consciousness but didn't open her eyes. Her head arched slightly in the direction where the voice came from. She somehow knew it was directed towards her; it was more audible than the others. It sounded familiar, but it wasn't.

Alicia had a tattoo on her back that gave her away. She was the only daughter of Alpha Jones of the Midnighter pack, the richest alpha in the entire Western Mountain of Jacksonville, and a sworn enemy of the Crescent Pack.

"Midnighter!" The voice called out louder, adding.

"Don't do that! and don't call her that!" a female voice spoke in Alicia's defense.

It was Belair Christopher’s voice, the head doctor of the pack who had performed surgery on Alicia's head. Alicia had bumped her head into a large rock as she fell out of the limo 5 ft down the old Okary bridge during the incident, blacking out completely.

She was brought in by the guards that night to Belair's clinic.

She lost a lot of blood and had internal bleeding that needed sudden attention. A surgery was done to stop the bleeding and speed up the healing process.

"But isn't that what she is, a Midnighter?" The male voice responded again to Belair.

"Can't you feel her heartbeat? She is alive, doctor, so why is she trying to sleep all day? I might just make her sleep permanently," another male voice spoke in a mocking offense.

"You two should shut up and make sure you don't tell anyone about this," Belair again defended Alicia to the men.

"Cases like this are a miracle she didn't die, but she is likely to forget who she is. At least before he finds out, I need her to be able to tell us who she is," Belair added, almost convincingly.

"She has no right to cross our border!" the second male voice speaking stunningly.

"She is an enemy, and she must face who she is, even if she remembers or not."

Both men spoke respectively, responding in offense to Belair.

"Firstly, I just want to make sure she remembers what happened to her that night," Belair added, now a bit closer to Alicia's hearing.

Alicia's eyes fluttered slightly, still closed but on her own will trying to change that, her face gritted to express her emotions of pain as her eyes slowly opened but her body stayed still.

With a blurry vision, the room presented itself in an unfamiliar environment.

Moving only a fraction, accompanied by a gasp that followed her awakening. She wanted to jump out of her own skin immediately. Her interest built up to the voices in her head and what had happened to her, leaving a crisis from her subconsciousness to her present wake.

But she soon found her head had a white bandage wrapped around the bed frame she was laid on. She struggled, but it was futile, now taken notice by Belair just a toe from her.

"Don't move; you might hurt yourself by trying," Belair spoke again, looking her in between her eyes ridge, her blood drip almost rippling reaching for her as Belair.

Alicia made a sudden pause, looking closely at her surroundings and everything she saw.

Her eyes widened, turning her double gaze into a clearer vision. The hurt and banging in her head increased sharply.

"We haven't had your kind in a long while, you know?" with a deep throaty laugh. The man grinned, looking, with lake blue eyes spoke in a mocking tone.

"Who are you?" Alicia asked, confused more than surprised at the man sitting at her right side of the room.

The man had strangely annoyed her. Alicia couldn’t intentionally get him out of her sight as she looked at the other man in the room.

Jeremy wore an eye-protecting gauge while sitting with his microscope, his dark hair and green eyes a surprising focus on Alicia. He had a white lab coat on, a lab scientist and Belair’s colleague.

She looked back at Belair, who had a drug administrative tray in her hands, and then back at the man. She didn't know what she would do to this man.

“Where am I? and who are you?” Alicia asked, directing her focus one after the other to each person in the room.

Drake sat with hurting eyes, wearing a white sleeves a bit unbuttoned, folded arms, and dark blue pants. Drake's arrogance he heard was enough that she could smell him from a distance.

Even with his lake-blue eyes, his skin held wrinkles that still fought hard to give that a façade of youthful firmness. He looked like someone who hadn’t passed his mid-life crisis, yet he still clung to his arrogance. He saw himself as a man of importance, a knight and shining armor, as he expressed his ultimate title, standing up and staring at Alicia’s eyes.

“You’re at the mercy of Beta Drake Degen of the Crescent Moon Pack, for I am the only one who decides if you live or die.”

His choice of words and tone were not just offensive to Alicia but also to Beliar, his wife and the doctor of the Crescents pack.

Alicia thought to herself, if the Beta office of the Midnighters, her pack, would say even a fraction of those exact words, she would have his head and the head of his family on a stake immediately.

Her fingers pulled back slowly and formed defined fists of themselves, now making a frown, now making her look like an animation.

Drake made an annoying chuckle, stepping out of the room, seeing that his words hit Alicia right where it hurts.

"Welcome to the feast of Ellipses," Beta Degen stepped forward, holding a scroll in his right hand. The hall buzzed in salute of the word."CRESCENTSSSSSSSSSSS!""But before we begin the feast, we must know who our pack runner is amongst the captives after the judgement." After he spoke, immediately there was a loud trumpet, and the hall was dead silent; even a drop of a needle could be heard within this silence. The main door to the large entrance opened, and three persons entered, and all the people rose from their seats. Though from a distance, no one could see their faces long afar within the long hall, but as they came closer. To the right, a 35-year-old male figure of Magnus Dan, the pack's top official and messenger, 5'5 tall, dressed in a completely black robe reaching below his knees and a white belt around his waist. To the left, a beautiful 24-year-old, light-skinned lady Delilah Collins, Deta Collins' daughter, 5'7 tall, wearing black skin-tight pants and a golden crop top

The morning was still early, as Alicia could tell from the echoing force of the wind from the mountains making its way into the rooms. This gave access to a surprising visitor to the Alpha's mansion. She struggled to sit up, the aura of scents surrounding her slowly straining her dragged body by the chains, which were no longer new to her. She was surprised to see the same man from yesterday, standing alone.Alicia's head was a bit calm from the sleeping medication Belair had given her. The thought of her parents haunted her every wake since she found herself in this godforsaken place. She groaned quietly under her breath, almost condemning herself, maybe this was it for her. This man looked like he was going to rip her apart. She dragged her eyes one after the other through the faces of these men.Her heart quaked, her body weakened. "The Midnighters had their way of putting an end to war and conflicts—it was the money they had. Knowing the Crescents pack did not accept money in exchange for prisoners, there was a very slim chance that Alicia was getting out of here anytime soon. Her release might lead to a war between the Midnighters and the Crescents pack. This war could have been long anticipated by the Crescents. On the other side, the Midnighters weren’t aware that Alicia was alive after the incident.Would the Crescents make her capture known to the Midnighters, or would they lock her up forever?“Do not let her out of your sight!” Drake commanded two armed guards, pointing his index finger in Alicia's direction.“She is a Prisoner of War now, our Prisoner of War,” Drake added. The armed guards stood at the doorpost all day. Alicia couldn’t do much for herself; everything was done for her by Beliar. Her legs, waist, and wrists were chained to the bed frame. Alicia had nowhere to go now, neither did she have

  • THE ALPHA'S SECOND CHANCE MATE    CHAPTER 1: BORDER LINE

"Through the days of trials, one finds their very might. Sometimes, the end is just a new beginning, and sometimes, our greatest strength is found in the depths of adversity—a hard lesson learned in times of difficulties.""Over! Over!”“We need immediate backup!" The Runners at the borders radioed the main town guards. There had been a sudden explosion at the border line. It would take a whole two hours for the guards in the main town to reach those at the first border line. Some of the guards immediately shifted into their wolf forms, while others climbed into dispatch trucks loaded with machine guns and ammo. All made their way quickly into the woods to assist their comrades facing the looming danger."Whatever it was, it wasn't going to succeed like the last time. We are on our way," the radio response reassured. They believed the enemies might be trying to distract the guards at the borderline with this sudden explosion, while having an entirely different plan.***Since the Cravi
