Chapter 101

Lucien’s POV

Screening the candidates for the Luna’s position turned out to be harder than I thought but I can’t just allow the elders to pick one of the candidates that they think would be perfect for the position for me.

I can’t just crown any lady as the luna, cause she won’t just be the luna of this pack, she would also be my wife and a mother figure to Elara but it seems like Elara doesn’t like any of the candidates I’ve invited to the palace cause she stopped eating with me at the dining chamber since I started this quest of finding a luna and she won’t stop questioning me about when Isla would come back and why she left us.

In as much as I tried to deceive myself about the fact that I was moving in from Isla, her questions always breaks me and leave me spiraling in my thoughts cause why would she just leave me after I fell in love with her and she didn’t even leave with me or try to talk to me when I saw her in the woods.

I decided that the best way to know more abo

  • THE ALPHA’S SILENT BRIDE   CHAPTER 128

CHAPTER 128Lucien’s POVThe sky was unusually clear tonight, stars filled the sky, it was as if even the stars were celebrating with us tonight. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, happiness, the smell of good food and drink as the pack members gathered in the center of the pack for the welcoming night celebration for Callen’s new wife. Everyone loved each other in the pack, so we always gathered to celebrate new wife or any grand or little thing in this manner. The fire pits were lit, the children were happy and playing around while the women sat down, some where watching the children while the others were eating, talking and laughing with Callen’s luna. The men were laughing, eating and talking with Callen who kept on stealing glances at his luna as if she would run away if he didn’t keep an eye on her.I stood near the raised dais, observing the festivities with a practiced smile. I lifted a goblet of spiced wine to my lips, barely tasting it. Callen stood beside me, laug

  • THE ALPHA’S SILENT BRIDE   CHAPTER 127

CHAPTER 127Isla’s POVEverywhere was unusually quiet, it was too quiet. It was not as if Sayora was a noise maker or something, but by this time of the day, she would be cooking our food or the herbs.“Sayora!” I called as I stood up from the bed feeling weird, “where could she have gone? She would never go to the market or go to the forest to pick woods or herbs without me, so where could she be?” I asked myself as I walked out of the hut in to the forest to find her.I panicked as I could not fin her outside, then I followed a faint trail in to the forest shouting her name as I walked and glanced around my surroundings in fear.I was scared cause the memory of what happened the last time she left me alone in the hut filled my head.I could not even scream for help cause the man was holding my throat, blocking my air flow and my vocals.“You should have known that there’s no where on this earth that you can hid from Kyle. He would always find you if he really wants to or do you thin

  • THE ALPHA’S SILENT BRIDE   CHAPTER 126

CHAPTER 126TARLYN’S POVSleep refused to come.It had been days since I’d last seen Kane, yet his voice lingered in the corners of my mind like a curse I couldn’t wash away. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw him again. I saw the rigid line of his jaw, the cold certainty in his eyes, and the way he spoke as though his words was law.“If you don’t do it, I will.”Those six words had rooted in me like thorns. No matter how many times I tried to pull them out, they grew back sharper and hungrier. I thought that if I ignored him, and if I wrapped myself in silence and carried on as if the world hadn’t cracked open beneath my feet, the madness would fade. The days since the celebration had stretched long and heavy like shadows, and it filled with whispers. The pack lands were changing, though no one said it aloud. Guards were being moved and patrols doubled. I noticed the shift most in the air itself. Something sinister is cooking. Something was stirring beneath the surface. And I feared

  • THE ALPHA’S SILENT BRIDE   CHAPTER 125

CHAPTER 125Lucien’s POV“Higher, my friend,” Callen called out to a young wolf struggling to hang a lantern. “The moonlight won’t touch it if you keep it that low.”“Yes, Callen!” The young wolf called back with a grin. The morning began peacefully yet very busy. For once in what seemed like eons, the pack grounds was crowded and occupied not with orders, drills, or meeting, but with laughter. The camaraderie tjat oozed out was very admirable. It felt real and unrestrained as well as the jokes and laughter flying around. The kind I hadn’t heard in years. Everyone was busy preparing for the welcoming of the new Luna.Dew clung to the blades of grass like silver beads. The he scent of earth was fresh. Young wolves ran across the courtyard, balancing ladders, hanging silk banners, and arguing playfully about the best way to tie knots. Lanterns made of polished glass dangled from branches, glinting under the morning sun. I stood in the middle of it all silently watching. My breath rose

  • THE ALPHA’S SILENT BRIDE   CHAPTER 124

CHAPTER 124 Isla’s POVSayora had said this would happen. She had said that the closer I came to cutting the bond, the more violently it would resist. But knowing and feeling are two very different things. The morning after the trance felt heavier than any storm. I woke to the sound of rain dancing steadily and gently on the roof. My body ached like I had been through a war. Every muscle felt stretched too tight and every bone hummed with some deep, invisible vibration. When I tried to sit up a sharp, biting pain exploded across my back. I winced and reached behind me, my fingers brushing against my skin that felt raw and hot. When I looked at my palm, there was blood. Thin, smeared red, and faint traces of blood. I was bruised. It wasn’t a dream. The air in the room was cool and damp, scented with sage and moon petals drying by the window. The candles had burned down to stubs during the night. Their wax pooled like frozen tears on the wooden table. I laid there for a long while, s

  • THE ALPHA’S SILENT BRIDE   CHAPTER 123

Chapter 123 – Isla’s POV The fire crackled softly in the hearth. Its warmth spread across the room. I sat across from Sayora, my palms resting over the small bowl of herbs she placed between us. The scent of sage blended with something faintly metallic, sharp enough to sting the air. Sayora’s voice rose and fell in a rhythm that felt neither like a song nor a chant, but something older that hummed through my bones. The world began to shift. At first, it was subtle. The walls seemed to hum, and the air shimmered like thin glass. Sayora’s voice grew distant, as if she spoke through water. My eyelids fluttered, heavy and slow. When I blinked, the light changed, brighter, almost blinding. Then everything was different. I stood in the middle of a vast, grey field. The air smelled of rain and iron. The grass beneath my feet was damp, whispering against my skin as a slow wind moved through it. The horizon stretched endlessly, colorless, cold, silent. Something dark moved in the d
