Damon's POV:

I was angry! No, I was furious about everything! How could she pretend not to be one of my kind?. And how stupid was I not to sense what she truly was? Werewolf or not, I was supposed to figure out what she was. Was I blinded by emotions as I was in the past?

"Why me, Moon Goddess, Why?" I asked in a cracked voice as I slowed down my pace in the passage.

A lump was forming in my throat, and my eyes were getting blurry from the tears I was refusing to shed.

I was still a weak Alpha, even after going through so much pain in the past. I still wanted Sherry to stay by my side. Why was the Moon Goddess giving me such horrible mates to love? I was always good to my pack mates, and I even loved my first mate wholeheartedly. Yet, I suffered a huge loss when my pack went down. Was this punishment for my past sins?

My pack was the center of all information because we took in a lot of different rogues who knew so much. Besides that, Maggie came from a long bloodline of seers, a
