Chapter 6: Revenge Plan?

JASMINE POV

With that, Nurse Carol was gone. Sebastian is surely getting on my nerves! For about a minute, I forgot I had the 'Carter’ problem to deal with and just with a message from my supposedly annoying director, I lost composure.

“What does he want?” I murmured and began pacing, hovering about in the small workspace.

“Is there a problem?” Liam asked, curious.

"Yes, there is." I spun to face him and he looked surprised at seeing a new side of me; terrified.

“Do you need anything? Water...”

"Brady just knows how to piss me off, and I would make him pay!” I revealed it anyway, yelling at the top of my lungs.

Thankfully, the door was shut because I needed to vent, and now that I have... Well, it still felt the same.

"Whoa,” Liam muttered and gestured for me to calm down.

Eyes closed, I inflated my lungs with the cold-conditioned air.

“What has Brady got to do with this, I thought Nurse Carol mentioned ‘a Sebastian’...”

"You're right.” I bluffed.

If only he was wrong.

“Wait, who is he?” He demanded. "I'm sure I've not heard that name before. Is he your client... Is it confidential...”

"I wish." I sighed.

That meant one thing; Brady was yet to get to him with his goofy grin and annoying sidekick. That's right, he was having a therapy session with old Mr. Lucas, one of his returning clients.

"Apparently, nasty Brandy mistook Mr. Carter's personal assistant for Mr. Carter.”

"Which means it's the wrong introduction?” He rolled his eyes.

“Smart!” I exclaimed even though it was not necessary. "So, he returned and of course with the real Mr. Carter Sebastian, and showed him to me... My supposed replacement.”

“Wow... Quite a lot in split seconds.” He admitted.

"Honestly, the cocky brat walked around, shoulders high and with a terrible smile,” Liam chuckled, unable to help it.

"Really?” I scoffed.

"Why are you so worked up? You should go see him, clearly, you need your job.”

"I don't know why he wants me, it's too early, don't you think so?”

He nodded, “It's kinda... But you should go, I mean you never can tell.”

"Fine, but if I don't return in an hour, dial the emergency line and request an ambulance, that's after you get to Asher,” I instructed on a sigh.

With his hands over his face, he covered his mouth slightly and giggled, "Stop being paranoid, it would help you deal with the situation at hand.”

“Preach on.” I nodded in unison.

He resumed laughing, "I stopped by the Cafeteria, and Nelly said you're yet to grab a bite.”

I made an 'okay?’ face and shrugged. Nelly was our favourite Cafeteria staff, and she always reported us to each other. A cute blonde gossip.

"You should get something to eat first, with the rate you're going, you could pass out.” He suggested. "And remember, Mr. Sebastian is waiting. Don't piss him off.”

“Like I care.” I started for the door.

"You should!” He yelled after me.

His office was on the south wing, and the last door by the left was precisely. I didn't need an orientation as it was the exact office I occupied days ago.

As I walked down, I kinda weighed all the possibilities. Just yesterday, I disgraced him in the mall after bathing him and his diamond ring with a whole gallon of milk.

"Jasmine," I grumbled. "You should work on your response to reflex.”

But how was I supposed to know he would turn out to be my boss? Lots of weird shit took flight in my head; he may want to fire me on the spot, or cut from my pay, or... Hell! Seeing his face alone was enough torture.

I knocked on the door, it was a loud throbbing bang. Normally, I should be calm and try to lick his feet just to keep my job, but the bitchy side of me would rather die.

I got this bad side from my wolf. She was pissed but chose not to banter words with me right now. I always had the ugly habit of blaming things on my wolf, and guess what they say about old habits...

It does die hard.

“Come in, Jasmine.” He said, very confident that I was the one.

I burst in, my brow furrowed like a firefighter, “Sebastian, what do you want?”

"Good day to you too." The sarcasm was very much evident.

“Don't play dumb, answer me.” I didn't relent.

“You.” He responded precisely; not like I was expecting a different reply, but I went mute, regardless.

“You can't have me.” My voice was low but firm.

“Why?” He whispered, stood up, and walked to where I was standing.

I adjusted a few steps backward.

"Jasmine, I'm sorry for all those years, please let me make it up to you.”

“Sebastian, are you stalking me?” I'm almost yelling.

"Yes and no." He sputtered.

"And which is the answer?”

“Yes, because I looked for you over the years, I lost track of you, your scent... everything.”

"Good,” I murmured.

"And no, because working here as your boss happened to be a coincidence. A beautiful one.”

I scoffed. More stars to my downfall.

“And you expect me to believe that? After showing up like a ghost in the mall?”

“Is this your way of apologising?”

"In your dreams.” I bluffed.

He grabbed my waist and pulled me to himself, smacking my boobs on his broad chest.

I gasped and yanked his hand off to set myself free, took a few steps backward, and sighed. Just a contact made my knees wobble. The good times flooded my head more than the bad and ugly ones.

"Damn, I miss you, Jasmine.” He attempted to repeat his action and stopped when I raised my hand.

"Unfortunately, I don't.” I sighed. "Are you done?”

He smiled. "You've changed a lot, fierce, sexier...”

“I don't have time for this, Sebastian. I’ve got a client to prep for anesthesia. I doubt you'd know that. Brady is too corrupt to get competent heads.”

He laughed shortly. Just then, my stomach chose this as a perfect time to embarrass me with its loud rumbling. I grimaced and clutched it, desperately wanting to hide my bright red cheeks.

"Have lunch with me, I have a proposal.”
