TESSA’S POV

Seeing Kace trying to communicate with his eyes to Agent Maynard and Brandon who just walked into the house with smiles on their faces was funny.

I'm pretty sure that he was trying to tell them not to utter a word because Brandon was about to speak.

Luckily Agent Maynard understood the message Kace was trying to pass across when he saw Kace's foster mom seated with my mom. He held Brandon’s hand and signaled for him not to talk.

I also knew that deep in my mom's heart, if she was given the chance she'll shred my mother-in-law into tiny little pieces. My mom was nice and kind but she was also fierce when necessary.
