Chapter Fourteen
JADES POV
I had a very wonderful day with Matt, made me forget my problems and all.
But the moment I spot my parents car in the driveway, it all comes rushing back.
Amber's probably already back looking for blood and it's the last thing I need.
I muster up a smile as I wave him off, watching him drive off.
If only Caden and Amber can be half as nice as Matt is to me, my life would be a whole lot easier.
I stand outside on the porch for a full minute, getting mentally ready for this, before I pull the door open and let myself in.
True to my guess, sister dearest was sprawled on the couch, some book whose title I don't care about, held loosely in her hand.
"Look who decides to finally show up, while knowing I'm coming home today."
There was an obvious sneer in her voice, even while she keeps her eyes on her book.
"Hi Amber."
I greeted, ignoring her comment and going back upstairs.
