Natalia's POV

Long after I had ended the call, my fingers still clutched the phone. My heart was racing and the room felt like it was squeezing the life out of me.

What was wrong with Robert? Why couldn't he just leave me alone? How dare he threaten me like this after everything he did?

My hands trembled just slightly, but I curled them into fists as rage boiled through me.

My thoughts went to Wesley and I considered calling him to inform him of this— or even my dad and Mr Marcus.

But just as I raised the phone, my own reflection shot back at me...

"What am I doing?" I whispered, pushing the phone away.

I wasn’t going to fall apart. Not again. Not over him.

This had to end with me.

That thought echoed louder than any threat Robert could whisper to me.

Because if I went running to Wesley now, what would that prove? That I was still the broken woman who needed someone else to save her?

No.

I’d had enough of hiding behind people. My father. The company.

Even Wesley, as good

  • THE BILLIONAIRE HEIRESS' SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE   CHAPTER 94

Chapter 94: || NATALIA’S POV ||The rain hammered the glass so hard it felt like the house itself might shatter. Yet even below all that splatter, I could hear Wesley’s voice.I tried to ignore it. I tried to clutch the donor form and convince myself I was doing the right thing by staying silent. But then another flash of lightning lit the lawn and I saw him.He was soaked to the marrow with his shoulders trembling, yet he still remained there. Looking up my window, hoping that I would somehow change my mind and open them to at least see him.But I didn’t move from where I stood. And neither did he leave the rain or even flinch. Not even when thunder crashed and the wind nearly knocked him over.He just stood there. Waiting. He was the one in the rain, but I was the one trembling with emotions he had thrown me into. Why didn’t he just tell me the truth? And now, he was standing like a statue in the rain just to prove his love for me…My heart was drumming hard. I could feel the cold h

Chapter 93: ||WESLEY’S POV||“She returned to the Carson estate?” I asked, in shock and confusion.Marco's eyes narrowed with panic at my reaction and he hesitated before replying. “Yes— no. They said— no, Mr Carson asked Theresa to pack up that they were going home… but I don't know where that—“I could barely hear the rest of his words as my mind started burning with questions and pain.It started like a subtle prick in my heart before it turned full blown into a flame that burned every part of me.My vision flickered between my memory and the reality in front of me. I refused to believe what Marco was telling me but Natalia’s continuous absence in the house stirred my emotions. My legs started backing toward the door without me even sending the command. All I could think of was a way to confirm this news I was hearing.“Sir, are you alright? Where are you going?” Marco asked but I could barely even bring my legs to stop so I could respond to him.Instead, I continued walking till I

Chapter 92: ||WESLEY’S POV||I couldn’t focus. My heart was drumming like I was thrown in the middle of a war zone. The files in front of me looked like a foreign language and the numbers were swimming across the page, mocking me.Every few seconds, my eyes flicked to my phone, hoping to see a text. A missed call. Something. Anything at all from her.But it remained dead silent. There was nothing.Just like the house had been this morning when I left. When I brought her breakfast, I half hoped she would be awake, but she wasn't. My heart had squeezed with guilt as I had seen the tears stains on her pillow. She must have cried all night and it was all because of me. It was my fault."Oh Wesley... You have messed up..." I mumbled rubbing my palms over my face.I leaned back in my chair, getting lost in my thoughts again.I was so gone that I barely heard the knock at the door until it creaked open and Lila stepped in.She had two mugs of coffee with her as she approached me with narrowe

Chapter 91: ||NATALIA’S POV||I didn't know how long I stood there or what Theresa kept saying in her attempt to console me.Everything felt numb.My mind was suddenly sealed and my body barely responded to anything. I couldn't feel the air around us anymore. I couldn't hear, neither could I see...I was locked up in my head and the only thing that made sense was the document still in my hand. But it no longer felt like a piece of paper like it should— it felt like they had teeth. And they were sinking them into my skin. And the pain, I didn't feel it in my palms not my fingers— it was deep in my chest.I couldn't stand there anymore, I had to get answers, so very slowly I started walking back to our room.I could sense Theresa trying to say something behind me, but my ears were long sealed.I only clutched the paper hard as I walked, letting the teeth tear into my chest. My mind was on the verge of denial, but each time I even tried it, I saw a flash of his name— Wesley Brooks. Speci

  • THE BILLIONAIRE HEIRESS' SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE   CHAPTER 90

Chapter 90: ||NATALIA’S POV||My heart was racing as we hurried outside the room. I was already expecting to meet the worst scene.I could almost smell the blood in my thoughts already. Did someone fall? Ot was it a bulgar?—No, we had armed security outside. Surely no petty thief or criminal could just walk in.But then, what if they were not petty criminals?Fear clutched my pounding heart as I continued to follow behind Wesley. But just as we stepped out of the room, there it was.The scene before us made my chest tighten with unease. And suddenly the crash we heard suddenly became familiar. It wasn't someone falling or some petty criminals breaking into the house, it was the sound of china cups breaking. Again. And it was none other than Theresa. Again. She was crouched on the floor, hands trembling as she tried to gather the pieces of what used to be a full tea tray — cups, saucers, a pot and everything— but now all was shattered in a glittering mess around her.Again.“What the

Chapter 89: ||WESLEY’S POV||For the first time in what felt like forever, my office was silent. And not the disturbing kind of silence, but the peaceful kind. There were no calls buzzing around from shareholders, worried about their investments. There was no threat from Robert. No annoying local inspector with a hatred for wealthy people— even if I didn't technically classify myself as a wealthy man. To me, I was simply a hustler.A man who didn't want to go back to the streets. And for once, I enjoyed the peace that came with it.It was just me, my desk and a glorious stack of papers that were finally reducing.I no longer felt bored or too tired to work on them. My mind was light and my fingers ached to finish all of them so I could go home to my beautiful wife. When I finally cleared them a smile danced on my lips as I leaned back in my seat at the beautiful thoughts. I even let my head rest against the leather headrest with a long sigh.It still felt surreal— that they had finall
