The drive home was unusually quiet.

Amara sat in the passenger seat of Alexander’s car, staring out the window as the city lights blurred past them.

Her mind kept replaying the moment she found the flash drive.

And the way Victor had looked at her.

Like he knew something.

Like he was waiting.

“You’re thinking too loudly,” Alexander said suddenly.

Amara blinked and looked at him.

“That’s not a thing.”

Alexander glanced at her briefly.

“It is when I can practically hear the wheels turning in your head.”

She sighed softly.

“Can you blame me?”

“No.”

“Victor literally warned me.”

Alexander’s grip on the steering wheel tightened slightly.

“What exactly did he say?”

Amara hesitated.

“He said curiosity can be dangerous.”

Alexander scoffed quietly.

“He likes dramatic threats.”

“Well, it worked.”

Alexander pulled the car into the driveway of the mansion.

The engine stopped, but neither of them moved immediately.

For a moment, the silence returned.

Then Alexander reached into his pocket and pulled out the flash drive Amara had found.

“This,” he said quietly, “is what he’s afraid of.”

Amara leaned closer to look at it again.

“You really think so?”

“Yes.”

“Then why leave it in the warehouse?”

Alexander frowned slightly.

“Good question.”

They stepped out of the car and walked inside.

The house felt darker than usual, the large windows reflecting the night outside.

Alexander led the way to his office.

Once inside, he closed the door.

The tension in the room instantly returned.

Amara crossed her arms.

“Well… are we going to look at it?”

Alexander nodded.

“Yes.”

He sat down at his desk and inserted the flash drive into the laptop.

For a moment, the screen remained blank.

Then a folder appeared.

PRIVATE ARCHIVE

Amara leaned closer.

“That sounds familiar.”

Alexander clicked it.

Several files appeared.

But one stood out immediately.

VIDEO RECORDING

The date was from six years ago.

Alexander’s heart began beating faster.p

“This must be from the same time period as the other files.”

“Play it,” Amara said quietly.

Alexander clicked the file.

The screen flickered.

Then an image appeared.

A dimly lit office.

Two men sitting across from each other.

Amara leaned forward.

“That’s your father again.”

Alexander nodded slowly.

But this time, the man sitting across from him wasn’t Victor.

It was someone else.

Someone younger.

Someone with sharp features and cold eyes.

“Who is that?” Amara whispered.

Alexander frowned.

“I’ve seen him before.”

The video began playing.

Alexander’s father spoke first.

“You shouldn’t be here.”

The younger man smiled slightly.

“You’re the one who called the meeting.”

Alexander’s father leaned forward.

“I called Victor. Not you.”

The man chuckled.

“Well… Victor and I work together now.”

Amara felt a chill run down her spine.

“This doesn’t sound good.”

On the screen, Alexander’s father looked furious.

“You told me this was a legitimate investment.”

Victor suddenly appeared in the frame, stepping into view.

“Relax,” he said smoothly.

Alexander’s father stood up.

“You used my company to move illegal money.”

Victor shrugged.

“You benefited from it.”

“No,” Alexander’s father snapped.

“I’m shutting it down.”

The younger man leaned back in his chair.

“You really think it’s that simple?”

Alexander’s father glared at him.

“Yes.”

Victor laughed softly.

“You should think carefully before making that decision.”

The younger man added quietly,

“Because once you know about this operation… you don’t get to walk away.”

The video froze suddenly.

The screen went black.

Silence filled the office.

Amara slowly turned to Alexander.

“That means…”

Alexander’s voice was tense.

“My father didn’t just refuse their deal.”

“He threatened them.”

Amara nodded slowly.

“So Victor isn’t the only one involved.”

Alexander looked back at the screen.

“No.”

“There’s another player.”

Amara pointed to the younger man.

“That guy.”

Alexander’s expression darkened.

“If he’s still involved… this situation is much bigger than we thought.”

Amara felt uneasy.

“So this isn’t just about revenge.”

Alexander nodded.

“It’s about protecting their entire operation.”

She looked at him.

“And now you’re threatening it.”

Alexander closed the laptop slowly.

“Yes.”

Amara exhaled slowly.

“Well… that’s terrifying.”

Alexander stood up and walked around the desk.

For a moment, he simply looked at her.

“You shouldn’t be involved in this.”

Amara raised an eyebrow.

“That sounds familiar.”

“I’m serious.”

“So am I.”

Alexander stepped closer.

Close enough that Amara could feel the warmth of his presence again.

“This is dangerous, Amara.”

She held his gaze.

“I already know that.”

“And you’re still here.”

“Yes.”

Alexander studied her face carefully.

“Why?”

Amara hesitated.

Then she answered honestly.

“Because you’re not the villain in this story.”

Something changed in Alexander’s expression.

For a moment, his usual composure slipped.

“You believe that?”

Amara nodded.

“Yes.”

Alexander’s voice softened slightly.

“You shouldn’t trust me so easily.”

She smiled faintly.

“I don’t trust you easily.”

“Then why stay?”

Amara looked straight into his eyes.

“Because I want to.”

The space between them suddenly felt smaller.

The tension became thicker.

Alexander lifted his hand slightly—

But before he could say anything—

His phone suddenly rang.

The sound shattered the moment.

Alexander sighed and answered it.

“Yes?”

The voice on the other end spoke quickly.

Alexander’s expression changed instantly.

“What?”

Amara’s heart began to race.

“What happened?” she asked when he ended the call.

Alexander looked at her.

His voice was quiet.

“Victor just escalated things.”

“How?”

Alexander’s eyes darkened.

“He’s coming after you.”

Amara froze.

“Me?”

Alexander nodded slowly.

“Yes.”

And suddenly…

The danger felt much closer than before.

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S ACCIDENTAL BRIDE   CHAPTER 26: A Dangerous Discovery

Victor’s laughter still echoed in Amara’s ears long after he left the warehouse. She stood beside Alexander, watching investigators move around the building, opening boxes and scanning documents. The entire scene felt surreal.Just yesterday, she had been living a quiet life. Now she was standing inside a warehouse that was being investigated for financial crimes. And somehow…She had become part of a war between two powerful men.Amara glanced at Alexander. His expression was calm.Too calm.“Are you okay?” she asked quietly.Alexander didn’t answer immediately. His eyes were focused on the investigators moving through the building.“I expected something like this,” he finally said.“You expected your warehouse to be raided?”“Yes.”Amara frowned.“You sound like this doesn’t bother you.”Alexander looked at her then.“Oh, it bothers me.”“Then why do you look so relaxed?”Alexander leaned slightly closer to her.“Because Victor made a mistake.”Amara tilted her head.“You keep sayin

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S ACCIDENTAL BRIDE   CHAPTER 25: The First Strike

The next morning felt different.Amara noticed it the moment she stepped out of her room. The house was quiet as usual, but something about the atmosphere felt tense—like the calm before a storm. She walked down the staircase slowly, her mind still replaying everything she and Alexander had discovered the night before.Money laundering.Hidden accounts.Victor’s threats. And the fact that Alexander’s father had actually been trying to stop it.It changed everything.Amara reached the kitchen and poured herself a cup of coffee, but her thoughts were far away. She was staring into the mug when she suddenly heard a voice behind her.“You look like you didn’t sleep.”She turned.Alexander stood at the entrance of the kitchen. He looked composed as always, dressed in a dark suit, his hair slightly messy like he had run his fingers through it too many times. But his eyes told a different story. He hadn’t slept either.“Good morning,” Amara said.“Is it?”She shrugged slightly.“I guess that

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S ACCIDENTAL BRIDE   CHAPTER 24: The Truth Inside the Flash Drive

For several seconds after Victor left, the office remained completely silent. The only sound in the room was the low hum of Alexander’s laptop and the distant echo of Victor’s footsteps fading down the hallway.Amara stood near the door, her heart still beating faster than normal. That man had walked in like he owned the entire building.Like he owned Alexander. And the strange part was that Alexander hadn’t argued. He hadn’t shouted. He hadn’t even tried to stop him.Instead, he had simply stood there, staring at the flash drive Victor had left behind. The small silver device now sat in the center of Alexander’s desk.Amara slowly walked closer.“You’re just going to stare at it forever?” she asked.Alexander didn’t answer. His expression remained hard and unreadable. She folded her arms and leaned against the edge of the desk.“That man walks into your office, threatens your entire company, claims your father stole from him, and your response is… silence?”Alexander finally looked u

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S ACCIDENTAL BRIDE   CHAPTER 23: The Man in the Doorway

The shadow in the doorway didn’t move.Amara’s heart pounded loudly in her chest as she stood behind Alexander. The dim emergency lights in the hallway flickered, casting long shadows across the office walls. For a moment, no one spoke. Then Alexander’s voice cut through the silence.“You’ve already broken into my office,” he said calmly. “Standing there silently isn’t going to help you.”The figure shifted slightly.Slow, confident footsteps echoed as the person stepped into the office. The emergency light finally revealed part of his face.Amara squinted. He was a man.Probably in his late forties.Well dressed.Calm.Almost too calm for someone who had just broken into a billionaire’s office.Alexander’s expression didn’t change.“You’re brave,” he said coldly. The man smiled slightly.“Or desperate.”Amara felt Alexander’s arm move slightly in front of her again, shielding her.“Who are you?” Alexander asked. The man didn’t answer immediately.Instead, he looked around the office
