Scarlett POV

Scarlett Hayes hadn't expected her second week at Veridian Crown University to be any easier than her first. If anything, it was worse. Every hallway felt like a battlefield, every glance a challenge, and every whisper behind her back a warning. But Scarlett had faced worse than judgmental stares — she would not be intimidated.

Yet there was no denying it. Dominic Kingsley's attention was no longer casual. It had become a weight, heavy and undeniable, pressing down on her with every step she took.

She had hoped that staying out of his path would be enough, but it wasn't. In the cafeteria, her every move was being watched like a spectacle. Dominic was seated across the room with Julian and Victor, Alexander beside him. Their eyes flicked toward her every few seconds — calculating, observing, testing.

Julian whispered something to Dominic, who smirked faintly. Victor merely nodded, expressionless, as if approving some silent plan. Alexander, as always, offered Scarlett a small, reassuring glance — one that reminded her she wasn't entirely alone in this storm.

It was during lunch that it happened. Scarlett was moving toward an empty table when she collided with someone.

"Watch where you're going!" a cold voice snapped.

Scarlett looked up and found herself staring into Dominic's piercing dark eyes. The cafeteria seemed to shrink around them — whispers stopped, eyes turned, and even Julian froze mid-laugh.

"I am watching," Scarlett said firmly, refusing to bow or shrink away.

Dominic's lips curved slightly, almost imperceptibly. He reached out and steadied her arm — but there was a warning in the grip that made her pulse quicken. "Careful," he said. "You're stepping into dangerous territory."

Before Scarlett could respond, Alexander stepped up beside her. "It's okay," he said softly, placing a hand gently on her shoulder. "Don't let him intimidate you."

Dominic's gaze flicked to Alexander, and for a moment, the tension between them was almost tangible. Scarlett realized then that the four boys weren't just observing her — they were each subtly testing the boundaries of her relationships, and each other.

That night, Scarlett's phone buzzed again.

*Unknown Number: Day two. He wants control. Be ready. Protect yourself… and your heart.*

Scarlett frowned. Her heart raced. How did this person know so much? And why did it feel as though Dominic himself was part of the warning?

She tried to push the thought aside. There was no time to overthink. She had lectures, assignments, and now… this game with Dominic.

The next day, Scarlett found herself summoned to the student council room — a grand office with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the campus. A sense of dread prickled her nerves as she stepped inside.

Dominic was already there, seated in the center chair, hands clasped, exuding an air of authority. Julian lounged nearby, Victor stood by the window, and Alexander was off to the side, silent but attentive.

"Scarlett," Dominic said, his tone sharp. "We need to talk about… rules."

Scarlett raised an eyebrow. "Rules?"

"You've made yourself visible," he said. "You've refused to bow. You've drawn attention. That… can't go unchecked."

Scarlett swallowed, but she didn't flinch. "I'm not invisible. I'm not going to bow to someone because of wealth or fear."

Dominic's eyes narrowed, and for the first time, his patience seemed to crack. "Bold," he muttered. "Dangerously bold."

Julian chuckled. "She's going to be fun," he said, smirking.

Victor remained silent, observing. Alexander's gaze softened — concerned for Scarlett, aware that this confrontation was about more than appearances.

Dominic leaned back in his chair, a slow, deliberate smirk forming. "Fun… or trouble?" he said. "Time will tell."

That evening, Scarlett returned to her dorm, exhausted. Her phone buzzed again.

*Unknown Number: Rules are being set. Choose carefully which battles you fight. Some losses can't be recovered.*

Scarlett's stomach twisted. Whoever was sending these messages had knowledge she couldn't explain. And Dominic… his presence lingered in her thoughts — inescapable, unsettling, and strangely compelling.

The next day, during a campus gala — a mandatory social event for students and visiting sponsors — the tension between Scarlett and Dominic escalated. She was wearing a simple, elegant dress that her scholarship money had barely afforded, feeling exposed among the wealthiest students she had ever seen.

Dominic appeared beside her suddenly, as if he had materialized from the shadows. "You shouldn't have worn that," he said quietly, his tone low and dangerous. "You'll attract the wrong kind of attention."

Scarlett didn't flinch. "I don't need protection."

Dominic's eyes darkened. "We'll see," he said, and then he left her standing there, the threat lingering like smoke in the air.

Alexander appeared moments later, worry etched on his face. "You have to be careful," he whispered. "He's… unpredictable."

Scarlett felt torn. She wanted to trust Alexander, yet something about Dominic made her pulse quicken despite the fear. There was power in his presence, danger she couldn't ignore — and a curiosity she couldn't deny.

As the gala progressed, whispers and glances followed Scarlett. She realized that she wasn't just being observed — she was being measured. Every smile, every glance, every word could be twisted, tested, or used. She noticed Victor's calculating eyes, Julian's playful smirk, and Alexander's concerned gaze.

But it was Dominic who mattered most.

Later that night, Scarlett's phone buzzed again.

*Unknown Number: Tonight, the game escalates. Be ready. Some choices can't be undone.*

Scarlett's heart raced. Her pulse pounded. Whoever was sending the messages knew more than they should. And she had the sinking realization that her life at Veridian Crown University was no longer just about surviving exams — it was about surviving the boys, the power plays, and the dangerous obsession she had unwittingly stepped into.

And somewhere across the campus, Dominic Kingsley was watching her, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. He didn't know why he was fascinated, why he couldn't look away, why the girl who refused to bow had captured his attention so completely.

He only knew one thing

Scarlett Hayes had crossed a line.

And Dominic Kingsley never forgave crossed lines.

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S BROKEN HEIR   Ever After

POV: Scarlett Years passed. The kind of years Scarlett had not let herself imagine when imagining were too dangerous ordinary years, peaceful years, years with no particular shape except the shape of a life being lived. Years made of scraped knees and bedtime negotiations and birthday cakes that didn't look like the ones in the pictures and holiday mornings and the specific, loud, recurring chaos of dinners with people who loved each other too much to be quiet about it. The kind of years she had once believed were for other people. She had been wrong about a lot of things. This was the one she was most glad to have been wrong about. Elias grew into himself the way children do, in jumps and plateaus and the occasional overnight change that left her standing in his doorway trying to locate the baby she still half expected to find there. He had Dominic's steadiness and her stubbornness and some third quality that was entirely his own, impossible to attribute to either of them: a part

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S BROKEN HEIR   The life we built

POV: Scarlett Time moved differently after Elias. Some days were enormous, full of the specific, demanding, endless work of a small person who required things at all hours and communicated his requirements without ambiguity. Those days stretched. They had texture and weight and by the end of them she was comprehensively tired in a way that still, somehow, didn't diminish anything. And then some days simply vanished. She would look up and a week had passed and Elias was doing something he hadn't been doing a week ago, and she would try to locate the moment the change had happened and find she couldn't. He was just different now. More of himself than he had been. Every week, more. He had gone from the small, sleeping weight on her chest to a person with opinions and momentum, and the transition had happened in what felt, looking back, like an afternoon. He was crawling everywhere now with the determined, methodical focus of someone executing a plan. He had discovered that objects co

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S BROKEN HEIR   little moments, big love

POV: Scarlett Mornings in the Hart house were no longer quiet. Scarlett had known this was coming ,had been told, had read about it, had nodded along sensibly at all the appropriate times. She had understood it intellectually. She had not, even so, been entirely prepared for the specific reality of being woken at six in the morning by a person who weighed eight pounds and communicated exclusively through urgency. Elias had opinions. He had them loudly and without apology, and he shared them through the baby monitor with the energy of someone who had been waiting all night to make this announcement and was not going to be casual about it. She groaned into the pillow. Beside her, Dominic was already sitting up. Not groggy, alert, the way she had noticed he became the moment anything related to Elias registered, as though some part of him had rewired itself in the last weeks to treat the baby monitor as a direct line. "I've got him." "You were asleep thirty seconds ago." He was al

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S BROKEN HEIR   Home is wherever you are

POV: Scarlett Bringing Elias home changed the house. Not the structure of it,the same rooms, the same light through the same windows. But the quality of it, the way a space feels when it has been rearranged around someone new. Tiny blankets on surfaces that hadn't held anything soft before. Small clothes hanging in the nursery, still slightly astonishing to look at. Bottles lined up on the counter. A mobile turning slowly in the draft from the window. Every room held pieces of him now, small evidence of a person who had made himself the centre of gravity without trying. Their son. Their heart relocated to the outside of their bodies, mostly expressing itself, right now, through the demands of someone who required feeding at two in the morning and had strong opinions about the temperature of things. Scarlett had not known exhaustion could feel like this. Not the old exhaustion, the kind that came from running, from surviving, from being on constant alert. This was different in text

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S BROKEN HEIR   The name we give love

POV: Scarlett The night had gone soft around them. City light filtered through the thin curtains in a low, ambient glow. The hospital had settled into its late, hour rhythms, the corridor outside quieter, the building breathing differently at this hour. Inside the room, their son had finished feeding and was now a warm, dense, completely unconscious weight against Scarlett's chest, all four pounds of opinion thoroughly satisfied and temporarily at peace. His breathing was the most important sound in the world. She had decided this in the last twelve hours and saw no reason to revise it. Dominic had pulled his chair to the bedside and sat with his elbows on his knees and his eyes on the baby, shirt wrinkled, hair slightly unruly, still in the previous day's clothes. He looked like a man who had been through something significant and was not yet ready to look away from what remained of it. "You've been watching him for twenty minutes," Scarlett said softly. "He's sleeping." She mea

POV: Scarlett Morning came into the hospital room softly. Soft light through thin curtains. The particular quality of quiet that belongs to early hours, the building around them still mostly still, the corridor outside intermittently hushed. For the first time since the night before, there were no doctors, no nurses, no particular urgency moving through the door. Just the three of them. Scarlett sat upright in the bed with her son in her arms. He was asleep. Tiny chest rising and falling with a regularity that she found herself monitoring not from worry but from the particular absorption of a person who has found the most fascinating thing they have ever watched. His fingers curled loosely against her. His mouth made small, unconscious movements at nothing. The dark hair, soft and still damp, looking at the temples. She had not stopped looking at him. She was not going to stop any time soon. Across the room, Dominic stood watching them with the expression he'd worn sinc
