CHAPTER 5

I woke up to a familiar fragrance, as I slowly opened my eyes I discovered roses were placed in a heart shape near my bed.

I brought the bouquet closer and saw a note inside. It read,

Have a wonderful day and stay pretty.

My mornings had always been like this since the past two weeks, after the accident and hearing what had transpired between us. He had always surprised me each time he came with something nice and romantic.

As I admired the roses he brought, I heard a knock on the door and I decided to check it out knowing it was Sebastian.

"Dinner with me?" It was the first question he asked immediately when I opened the door.

I said nothing but instantly rushed to my room shower to brush because of my bad morning breath.

It's like he understood why I had run so fast because he followed me to my room but stayed outside the door to ensure I had my privacy.

I was surprised to see him after I was done, he looked handsome as he watched me.

" Good morning. Thank you for the roses." I managed to say, breaking the silence.

" It's fine. How about my request for dinner?" He said. I gave a nod and hugged him tightly as a way to say I accepted his offer.

" Are you hungry? Should I make breakfast for you?" He asked but didn't wait for me to give an answer.

"Have a shower while I prepare breakfast, tell me what you need. Pancakes, toasts or what?" He asked again.

I smiled at how sweet he was not believing whatever he was doing was true and of a sincere heart.

I obeyed and went to have a shower, I was still dressing when I perceived the aroma of what Sebastian was cooking. He was a good cook and since I left the hospital he had been responsible for preparing breakfast for me. I went to the kitchen and joined him to prepare even if he insisted I went back to rest.

"You don't have work today?" I asked.

"This is the weekend, I don't go to work during weekends." His reply made me remember Kian.

No Wonder Kian wasn't around during weekends; it was because he was cheating on me with my best friend, I thought.

" After breakfast then we can watch movies together." He said with a charming smile and I couldn't help but admire him the most.

After he was done, we ate in silence for a while as we stole glances at each other. Since I saw him in the hospital two weeks ago where he helped me, I had instantly taken a liking to him.

I remembered how we nearly kissed in the hospital because of how we kept staring at each other. Sebastian had been a sweet soul ever since.

We mostly went on dinner dates because I didn't want Kian to come running and demand to have me back which will humiliate Sebastian. Even though sometimes I missed Kian, I never wanted to go back to him. All the torture I went through were enough reasons to block my head from thinking about him. I made up my mind to focus on my future with Sebastian.

He had a good heart and he was a guy  who always wanted to make me happy. The few weeks I had stayed with him had helped my mental health and improved my state of mind.

" Have you thought about who might be responsible for sending the letter the previous day?" He asked, bringing me to reality.

" I can only think of Kian. He's the only one who can do something like that."

" Don't worry about it…I will tighten the security and find out who did it." He reassured me as he played with my fingers. I felt assured as he touched me but I knew I was scared deep down.

Yesterday wasn't the first time I had received such threats, I even had to change my phone because I kept getting similar texts from Kian.

I thought of  running away but I knew it would hurt Sebastian, especially when he had done so much for me.

I knew it was Kian who was threatening to kill me. I woke up the previous day and the first thing I saw on my doorstep was a letter covered with blood, even if the writing was not visible I still managed to read what was written in it.

It read, You can't hide away from me.

But what kept me surprised was the fact that, Kian who sent those letters, must have known my address but had never been up to take me. I was confused though, Was he really the one sending the death threats? Or was there another enemy who I didn't know about?

Thinking about it just made me feel dizzy, maybe Sebastian was right— whoever was doing so just wanted to scare me.

Immediately we were done with breakfast, I stood up to clear the dishes but Sebastian stopped me. He took my hands in his and looked at me passionately, I was confused and wondered what was going on.

"Will you agree to be my girlfriend, Ayra?" He asked, making my heart Jump in excitement. I had waited for this moment and he caught me today by surprise.

"Yes." I answered softly. He brought my face closer and pecked me on my forehead and my cheeks.

We stayed together the whole day, watching movies, playing like little kids and stealing kisses from each other. He looked satisfied as he cuddled me to sleep when it was noon.

"Arya?" He called, making me Open my eyes. I wasn't fully asleep.

"Huh.."

"Do you still love Kian?"

I said nothing as my mind wondered why he asked me such a question. He knew about my relationship with Kian and I never kept anything hidden from him.

"Arya…do you still love your husband?" He asked again, this time bringing my face closer and staring directly at my eyeballs.
