Elvira
" You've got this, Elvira," I say to myself as I drive carefully down the road leading downtown. I'm on my way to the clerk's office to pick up my marriage certificate. A bead of sweat trickles down my forehead as I try to keep my nerves in check."You'll be fine meeting a total stranger who's supposed to be your husband," I assure myself, my grip on the steering wheel tightening. "But..." I think again, my mind racing. "What if he's ugly? What if he's weird? What if he's dangerous?" My heart begins to pound in my chest as I imagine all the worst-case scenarios. It wasn't my decision to get married; I was forced by my mother who arranged a marriage between me and a total stranger I've never met before. Two years ago, I had my heart broken by the man I thought I loved; on the day of our marriage, I was left standing on the aisle like a deranged lunatic, waiting for my prince charming to pick me up.This experience made me not believe in love, making me get married just to fulfill my mother's desires. After a few minutes of driving, I arrive at my destination and quickly get out of the car. Standing just a little farther away from me is a tall, slender man with broad shoulders. His back is faced towards me, but judging from his stature which screams intimidation, he sure is a handsome man. He's putting on a black tuxedo with his dark hair slicked backwards.Lost in thought, I stare at the man's yummy physique. I'm so caught up in my thoughts that I don't notice him turning around to face me directly. Our eyes meet, and I feel a rush of warmth and embarrassment flood through my body.Suddenly, he starts walking towards me with a straight face."Are you Elvira Gray?" The man asks as he approaches me.In front of me stands a man who looks like he has been carved from marble, his face a perfect example of Greek beauty. His well-defined features are enhanced by small, gray eyes that glint with a hint of danger and intimidation. His lips are small and pink, adding to his sexy appeal. His nose is straight and pointy, completing the picture of a handsome and seductive man.I feel as though I might turn into a puddle of chocolate, melting under his gaze. His voice is deep and sexy, and I Can't help but feel as though my insides have been transformed into a gooey mess."Miss?" The man's voice rings out again with a hint of annoyance in it.I snap back to reality. "Oh...ye...yes," I stutter with embarrassment. "I am Elvira Gray. Are you Demetrius Quentin?""Yes," he replies curtly, before turning and walking away.I think to myself, "How rude!" A frown spreads across my face as I quickly start to follow him. "Hold up!" I call out behind him, trying to catch up with his pace.He slows down, waiting for me to catch up. "What is the matter?" he asks as I reach where he stands, his voice void of any emotions. He sounds like he's talking with one of his clients in his workplace."I just wanted to ask a few questions before we get our official marriage certificate," I say as we continue walking."Which is?" he asks again."Well... I... I would like to know if... if," I pant heavily before I can complete my statement. He notices my discomfort and slows down again so that I won't have to run to meet him."Thanks," I mutter before continuing. "Well, I am sorry to say, but I was literally forced by my own mother to marry you. It was never my intention to get married.""I see," Demetrius simply says, his gaze straight ahead. "Why did you agree to marry me then?" he asks."I have already told you, I was forced by my mother," I reply with an eye-roll."If you didn't want to marry me, you should have told your mother earlier," he says again, his voice cold and deep."Do you think I didn't try?" I ask with a snort. He halts his stride to face me, his expression stern and his eyes narrowed. This sudden act of his makes me tremble slightly with fear. Demetrius looks intimidating, his huge stature towering above my petite figure."What is it?" I manage to say, trying to make my fear unnoticed."I don't like women who talk a lot," he says, his icy voice dripping with annoyance."And I don't like men who are always angry," I shoot back, trying to look bold and sassy, but deep down, I'm shaking with fear."Do you even think I want to get married?" Demetrius asks as he squints his eyes. His question is rhetorical."Then why did you get married to me, huh?" I raise a brow."I got married to you because of my mother. She made me promise that I would marry you before she dies; she is suffering from Lung cancer," he replies."Oh," I say with a guilty expression. "I... I... didn't know, I'm sorry.""I don't need your apology," he spits, his voice dripping with menace.Once again, I feel my insides burn with fury as I think to myself, "This man is very annoying!""I can see you are quite savage, Mister," I say as I smile briefly, fighting so hard to keep my anger in check.Demetrius scoffs as he stares at me with his icy gaze. "Don't think I would keep you by my side forever."ElviraAfter Demetrius says that, the frown on my face deepens even more."Excuse me?" I say, my voice dripping with disbelief."You heard me right, miss," he replies icyly. This time, I'm not having any of it. I speak up with annoyance, anger coloring my tone. "Firstly, I am your wife and not a 'miss'. Secondly, you are being very rude, and what the hell do you mean by that nonsense you just blurted out?"I had tried to act calmly because it was my first time meeting my so-called husband, but now I realize he's a rude jerk, so I decide not to stay calm."If you didn't understand me, I don't mind explaining it to you," he says, a smirk dancing on his thin lips."Explain yourself," I snicker."I will," he replies. "But first, let's get the marriage certificate." He turns abruptly and starts walking away, not bothering to look back. With a groan, I rush up to catch up with him. We both silently stride down to the counter clerk's office without saying a word to each other. After about tw
ELVIRA"Why did you bring me here?" I manage to ask, wriggling my butt uncomfortably on the seat."Good question," Demetrius says, nodding."Okay?" I raise a brow, waiting for him to speak up, but it seems like he's in some kind of trance.I furrow my brows in confusion as I glance over at Hendrix, who is smiling sheepishly at the other side of the table.Although Hendrix seems just as cold as Demetrius, he still has a friendly aura that makes me feel a little bit relaxed."Damien, don't keep the little woman waiting," Hendrix says as a jovial smile appears on his face.Looking up at him, Demetrius casts a chilling glare before averting his gaze towards me. "Remember I told you it was never my intention to marry you, right?" he asks.I roll my eyes and furrow my brow, a frown forming on my face. Demetrius' blunt honesty can be quite annoying at times. "Yes, how could I forget the sweet words of my lovely husband?" I say, my tone dripping with sarcasm. As the words leave my mouth, a sl
ElviraAs I stare at the check, disbelief floods my face. "So, you're telling me that you'll pay me... whatever amount I put on this check? For what?" I question, my voice filled with confusion."For bearing my child, of course," Demetrius responds casually, as if it's the most natural thing in the world. "You'll be taken care of, in every way possible. It's a promise. You'll receive half of the reward now, and once the child is born, you'll get the remaining amount."My head spins, and I struggle to comprehend the insanity of the situation. Why on earth is Demetrius proposing this?"Why?" I ask again, hoping for a clear answer.Demetrius takes a deep breath, pinching the skin between his brows. "Can't you understand what I just explained?" he exclaims in frustration."Hold on, Elvira," Hendrix says, catching my attention. "Do you want to know something else that's just as crazy?""Yes," I admit, feeling a heaviness settle in my heart. This whole ordeal feels like a surreal dream, one
Elvira"Oh my God," I cry. "Where are we going to get that money from?""Oh my precious Andrew!" My mother cries even louder.Just then, the doctor steps out of the room and both Elvira and my mother rush over to him."Doctor, how is Andrew?""Doctor, where is my son?" We ask impatiently."Calm down," the doctor says with a calm and composed expression. "For now, the young man is out of danger but if the surgery is not carried out, then I'm sorry, there is nothing we can do about it.""Doctor, how could you be so blunt and mean?" I ask, my eyes blazing with anger and frustration. "Can't you just...just start the surgery while we gather the money?""I'm sorry ma'am, but that isn't how we operate here," the doctor says."But tha..." I try arguing, but my mother immediately stops me."It's okay, Elvira," my mother says as she shifts her gaze to the doctor and speaks softly. "Can...can we see him, please?" As she speaks, tears trickle down her cheeks, making her look pitiable."Of course,
ElviraMy brows furrow with confusion as i try to understand what he means by having a phobia of women.I...I don't understand," I stutter, wriggling uncomfortably on his lap as confusion furrows my brows. It's my first time in such an intimate position with a man, and I'm trying to comprehend what he means by having a phobia of women."You heard me right, my darling little wife," his voice, deep and intoxicating, rings out. It's official, this man is crazy! What in the world have I gotten myself into with this deranged psychopath? If it weren't for saving my brother, I would've punched him so hard in his perfect face!I force a laugh, attempting to play it cool."Okay," I stutter again, clearing my throat before speaking up. "If you can't be seduced by any woman, how am I supposed to bear you an heir to continue your legacy within five years?" I ask."It's up to you, baby," he whispers, gently biting my earlobes. This man is such a flirt! How can he claim not to be easily seduced by
ElviraAfter Demetrius pays for my brother's hospital bill, the doctors begin treatment on him. I stand outside the ward with my mother, anxiously waiting for when I receive good news. I look at my mother, who keeps glancing over at Demetrius with furrowed brows. "Elvira, who is this man?" my mother asks, whispering into my ears. "It's a long story, mummy," I say, not wanting to explain the full details of the whole issue. "How did you get the money to pay for your brother's hospital bills?" she asks again, watching me with raised brows. "Five freaking million dollars, Elvira!" "Mummy, I've told you, it's a long story, and I will explain everything to you later!" I say, trying not to raise my voice at my mother. "Are you now a prostitute?!" she asks again, raising her voice this time around. Unfortunately, Demetrius hears it and looks at us with a raised brow. I suddenly feel embarrassed at my mother's statement, the weight of everything that has happened on me. "Just...just
Elvira"Thank you so much," I cry, hugging him tightly as I bury my face in his broad chest."Don't cry, little wife," he says, tapping my hair lightly. He doesn't say anything again and just lets me unleash all my emotions. After some minutes, I stop crying and lift up my head. Tear stains can be seen on his clothes, but he seems unfazed about them."Umm... umm... tha... thank you for everything," I say and try to go back to my seat, but his grip tightens. I chuckle nervously and try again, but he just doesn't want to release me just yet.Giving up, I stop struggling and stay quietly. Almost immediately, we drive out of the hospital premises. After a few minutes of driving, we arrive at his mansion.Just as we are about to come down from the car, a tall, masculine figure comes rushing towards us."Damien!" the person calls as he knocks on the window. Only one person calls Demetrius Damien; Hendrix.Demetrius sighs and rolls down the window. "What the hell are you doing at my house, H
ElviraFearfully, I gulp down saliva, my eyes darting around the lonely, slightly dark corridor. "Man up and walk down that hallway, Elvira!" I tell myself with a shaky voice. I make up my mind to go down the corridor to Demetrius's room.I can feel my hands shivering uncontrollably. Gulping down saliva, I raise up my leg, ready to start walking, but suddenly, I hear footsteps approaching me—really fast! "Who the hell is there?!" I yell, my eyes darting around the place. The footsteps grow louder and louder, until they are almost upon me. I panic, my heart pounding in my chest. I frantically look around for something I can use as a weapon and spot a vase on a nearby table. I grab it, dump the flowers on the ground, and raise it in a defensive stance.I hear the footsteps grow loud with each passing second. Finally, a tall, mysterious shadow appears. "Ahhh!!!" I yell, closing my eyes and raising the vase above my head. I run towards the source of the footsteps, ready to strike who
