Merida and Jordan arrived at the police station and were shown to detective Morrison's office. Merida wanted everything over. She was afraid for herself and more for her boys.

Detective Morrison leaned forward, his eyes locked on Merida. "You think it's your husband, Timothy Barclay, behind the two attacks?"

Merida sighed, her voice trembling. "I don't think, detective, I know. He's started stalking me again. I saw him twice. He left notes."

Jordan rubbed her back, trying to calm her down. "Calm down, Mama."

Detective Meyer raised an eyebrow. "But you said you didn't know where he was the last time you were here."

Merida's voice rose, panic creeping in. "I didn't know where he was. He works with some agency. I don't even know what he does now. He used to be a private investigator."

Detective Morrison held up a hand. "Calm down, Miss Corpus. We want to understand everything, so we know the next thing to do. Did you inform the police in Quebec?"

Merida nodded. "I did."
