CHAPTER 9

NOAH'S POV

I had no idea where to start looking for Ava so I decided to start with the simplest option; the company where she was working. I drove to the entrance, found a suitable space to park and got out of the car. It was still fairly early as I could see workers trooping in. I approached the receptionist "I am here to see Ava Reynolds"

The lady turned and gave me a weird look. "Who are you to her, Mister? May I know your name?"

"Noah Anderson" I replied.

She paused for a second and I could almost see the changes in her facial expressions. She seemed to process the name and was flustered as she hurriedly picked up the telephone to make a call.

"I am sorry, Mr. Anderson. I will inform the Manager of your presence immediately" she mumbled.

A few minutes later, a man in his early forties walked hurriedly towards me while apologizing profusely. A thin sheen of sweat covered his forehead as he ushered me into the elevator.

The elevator ride to the Manager's office was relatively sile
