Chapter 18: Confrontations and Threats

As John stood before Charlie Snr., fear seized him, causing his body to tremble. "John, what are you waiting for?" Charlie Snr.'s voice boomed. "Should I remind you of what I require from you?"

John's lips quivered as he replied, "Sir Charlie Snr., it was the school's fault. They contacted the wrong parents. But they are taking steps to apologize."

Charlie Snr. furrowed his eyebrows, considering what John had just said. He saw no reason to doubt him and waved his hand, indicating that John could leave.

With a sigh of relief, John turned to leave Charlie Snr.'s office and shut the door behind him.

Margret drove to her son's school and parked her car. As she was getting out, a woman approached her.

"Hello, you must be Margret?" the woman asked in a condescending tone.

Margret pursed her lips and replied, "And you are?"

"I am the daughter-in-law of the Robertson family," the woman replied haughtily.

Margret furrowed her eyebrows, trying to recall where she had heard the name before.
