CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN.SIX MONTHS LATER.Things did not get better between Adele and Jamal even after all the promises Jamal had made to her. He still kept late nights, travelled for business trips that lasted weeks and above all, he still kept meeting with Danielle very often. CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT.The moment Jamal and his driver arrived at the hospital, almost every hospital staff came to attend to him. Adele was immediately taken into the emergency ward while he walked helter-shelter around the corridor, tears flowing down his eyes like a waterfall.His hands and t-shirt were completely stained with blood, but that was the least of his problems at that moment. CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE.Ever since Jamal heard the news of Adele's miscarriage, he has not been able to stop tears from flowing down his cheeks. He had gone into the toilet several times to bawl out his eyes. He had been in the hospital all night, but he had not set his eyes on Adele because he was scared of how she was going to react when she set her eyes on him. CHAPTER THIRTY.The rest of the week went by with Adele not seeing Jamal like she had requested. She stayed in the hospital to be monitored, while Jamal continued with his work. He only came to see her when she was fast asleep so she wouldn't see him and get upset. One day, when he had gone to see her, the doctor called into his office and told him about Adele's situation. He had said that Adele had injured her uterus as a result of the miscarriage and it was almost impossible for her to conceive again. When Jamal got home that night, he didn't sleep. He kept thinking about Adele and how much she would hate him even more when she heard the news herself.He felt guilty for the things he had done to her and he wanted to take responsibility by making things right between them, but he knew Adele also needed time to heal from what she was going through, so he was going to give her time.He told his parents and sister about the miscarriage. CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE.The same calm atmosphere was maintained between Adele and Jamal for the rest of the week. Adele did not want to see Jamal most of the time and Jamal made sure to make himself less available in her presence. Grandma tried her best to talk to them, but Adele had already made up her mind. Her friend Linda, successfully found the house and paid the rent. Adele had also found a way to furnish the house, all without Jamal's knowledge. Everything was set and now, all she had to do was think of a way to escape his claws. She knew Jamal had always wanted to keep their marriage a secret from the world, so she intended to use that fact to blackmail him once she escaped and he tried to forcefully bring her back home. CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO.Jamal kept thinking about Adele throughout his meeting. Nothing the directors were saying made any sense to him. All he wanted was for them to finish talking so he would end the meeting and go meet Adele at Monteplaza.He had made a special reservation at the lounge so they could eat and spend some time together. Adele had been very quiet and reserved ever since she got back from the hospital and he hated it, but he understood her that's why he made sure he gave her the space she needed.He loved his wife and he wanted them to be close again. Before going shopping, she had met up with Linda, who gave her the keys to her house.She was very proud of all that she had managed to do and prayed to God to give her the strength to move on from Jamal and their failed marriage.
