"I have thought hard about how I would like to proceed with all this and I did not come up with anything, unfortunately. So much to think of and consider. In the meantime, though, I would like to ask if you are okay with me not clearing the air about what Lucas's wife to be assumed."

The text message ended.

Marcus read the last part of the text message three times. He could not comprehend it.

At some point, mid-way through the text message, he had assumed Isabelle would suggest ending whatever was going on between them, but she did not. Instead she asked him if he was alright with pretending to be her baby's father.

Marcus had already silently placed himself as a stand in father for her child and was more than willing to be her or his legal father if he was allowed to of course be, but this? this was a different request. She was asking him to be her child's pretend father not a stand in father but a pretend one.
