LOGINZara’s POV
What could my husband be discussing with that low life lady?
Not as though I care, I only cared about his money. I planned to get enough money from him and run away with my man friend, James.
James and I had been together before I even met my husband. I just had to marry Ethan Blackwell because of his money.
He is not even good in bed. But James? He handles me well.
James and I had our usual hotel. It was a private place. Very far from where we could be caught. I had aborted for James six times and I lost my womb the sixth time. James said carrying a child was going to expose us quickly.
At first, I was worried I lost my womb. But, James assured me it was nothing. He said we were going to adopt after we get enough money from Ethan and elope to start a new life.
I bribed our family doctor with money as he also requested for my body to manipulate our test results from being revealed that my womb was damaged to stating that I was suffering from chronic infection which affected my fertility and made my chance of birthing very low.
It was an advantage for me because I never planned to give Ethan Blackwell a child. I also freely enjoyed my time with James without the fear of getting pregnant.
James and I planned to adopt children after eloping.
I was cheating on Ethan and yet, I didn’t want him around another woman. That’s the highest level of witchcraft!
My gaze was on Ethan as he was conversing with her at a corner.
“Ma’am, I deeply apologize for how my wife spoke to you. She is not always like that, I promise.” Ethan Blackwell apologized.
“Oh, no, it is fine sir. I understand.” She replied as she smiled.
Her smile annoyed me more because she looked more beautiful. Her ponytail was beautifully styled, although, not professionally styled. Her simple pink dress made her fair skin tone pop out. It was obvious she was endowed and finer than me. But, I refused to accept that.
“Are you still willing to work for us?” Ethan smiled as he asked.
“Yes, sir. I am willing.” She replied.
“Has your instructor explained the terms and conditions to you?” Ethan asked.
“No, sir. He hasn’t.” She replied, looking confused.
“Alright. You’ll be our surrogate mother and it is a traditional type of surrogacy which means your egg will be used to create the pregnancy while I provide the sperm. There won’t be any form of sexual intercourse between us and you’ll become pregnant through artificial insemination.” Ethan Blackwell explained.
“Oh….o..okay sir.” Blessing stammered as she replied.
“In addition, you will be moving to the Blackwell’s estate immediately it is confirmed you are pregnant. You will be treated as a Blackwell and you will be provided with everything you need.” Ethan explained further.
The instructor cut him in as he was trying to explain further.
“Ermmm, Mr Blackwell, it is our responsibility to explain those things to her. Don’t stress yourself. Let me continue from where you stopped.”
“Miss Hayes, Mr Blackwell has explained the major things to you. In addition, you will sign a form stating that you won’t be attached to the baby and you won’t come back later to claim the baby belongs to you.” The instructor added.
I wanted to object that we were no longer doing it. Before I could say anything, my husband cut me in.
“This is our final decision, we are doing this.” Ethan added.
“Noted, Mr Blackwell. I have fixed an appointment for you to meet with the Doctor in charge tomorrow by 9a.m. Miss Hayes, please, be there in time.” The instructor said.
“Miss Hayes, is there anything you’d like me to do for you?” Ethan asked.
I became more irritated by the sound of the question.
“What sort of question is that, Ethan?” I asked furiously.
He didn’t even mind me.
“Please, speak, Miss. Be free to make any request.”
“Sir, I have a sick mother whose health keeps deteriorating daily. I should have taken her to the hospital, but I can’t afford her hospital bills. My brother will soon return back to school, I haven’t been able to raise his school fees. I don’t know if I can get a little amount of money from my pay to take care of my mother.” She said with pity written all over her eyes.
“You haven’t even started, you’re already asking for payment. What a gold digger you are! That is your problem and deal with it.” I cut her in.
“Don’t!” My husband yelled at me.
That was one of the few times he ever yelled at me in five years. But as for me? I had lost count of the number of times I yelled at him.
“Take your mother to the hospital and text me the bills. Here is my card.” Ethan said as he handed the card over to her.
She stared at the card for a few seconds.
“Oh, poor thing! You’re just seeing a business card for the first time?” I abused her. She didn’t mind me, she opened her purse and placed the card in her purse carefully.
After we left the office, all through our drive home, my husband didn’t say a word to me. Everywhere was silent like a grave yard. I decided to break the silence.
“After everything we’ve been through together, a replacement is what I deserve?” He stlll didn’t say anything.
As I was busy looking for trouble, a call came in. It was James, my man friend.
“Ah, this man wants to put me in trouble.” I thought.
I had warned James severally to stop calling me. I wanted to do the calling only.
I ended the call. He kept calling over and over again that it made my husband suspicious. He just couldn’t ask questions because of his calm nature and the trust he had in me. The silence was an advantage too.
We got home, the house helped served us dinner, we ate and we went to bed without saying a word to each other.
The following morning, he woke up and dressed up to meet the doctor in charge of the surrogacy.
“Can I come with you?” I asked.
“If you want,” he replied casually.
“I’m sorry for the drama I pulled yesterday. I just didn’t want to loose you.” I hugged him as I apologized.
He became calm. “It’s fine. You know I love you. I am doing this for us. We need a heir. I can’t just marry another wife and neglect you because of your health issues and that is why I feel surrogacy isn’t a bad idea.” He replied calmly.
“I know. But, how do I cope with another woman in our home? I am worried. What if she shifts your attention from me?”
“Nothing of such will happen. We will be fine.” He said as he kissed me on the forehead.
We left the house for the hospital. As we alighted from the car, I saw a man coming from the hospital, wrapping his right hand around a pregnant woman’s waist. The man’s figure looked familiar.
As they came closer, I couldn’t believe what I saw.
It was James, my man friend, with a pregnant woman coming out of the hospital.
Ethan’s POVWhy was my wife staring at strangers? What business does she have with them? “Babe, do you by chance know any of them?” I inquired. “What? Know them? No! I don’t!” She replied. I decided to mind my business and focus on what we visited the hospital for. Miss Hayes, my wife and I met with the Doctor. With my Lawyer, Barrister Mark, also present, everything went seamless. Barrister Mark cleared his throat and said “Miss Hayes, I hope you know what you are signing in for?”“Yes, Barrister, I do.” She said confidently. “Good. This is not the same as gestational surrogacy. Your genetic connection to the child creates additional legal and emotional considerations. Are you aware?“Yes. I am.” “Alright. Sign here.”Without hesitation, Miss Hayes signed. Several weeks after the insemination, the doctor confirmed the pregnancy. At the next scan, they discovered two foetuses. My job knew no bounds. I went ahead to get a nanny for her mother so she could concentrate on why sh

Blessing’s POV“I am so sorry, I don’t know how they missed your name. You’re qualified. Please, join others in that office.” He apologized. I wiped my tears immediately. My heart leaped for joy and my joy knew no bounds. “Definitely, my mother’s prayers are working” I said to myself as I joyfully walked to the room. We were addressed again by the same lady. “I congratulate everyone here for making it this far. The next step is medical assessment. We have our own private hospital we use. Our Doctor is trustworthy and competent. We have been working with him for fifteen years now. The driver will drive you to the hospital to take your test and after some days, you will get an email if you are qualified or not. Only three persons will be selected; because there are three opportunities available. Even though, one opportunity is better than others. The best candidate will get the best.” She stated. A lady sitting at my right hand whispered to her neighbor by her right hand. “I hear
Blessing’s POVI shut my eyes. I thought that was the end of me. Suddenly, I heard a voice. “Hey, are you okay? You seem worried and lost in thought.” A gentle young man said as he stepped out of an SUV car. I finally opened my eyes. I found myself lying on the floor. He rushed to me, held my hands and helped me up. I felt so embarrassed to be helped by a rich, fine young looking man. He was neatly dressed and here I was, looking tattered from head to toe. Before I could process the whole situation, I heard another voice. “Baby, why would you even touch such a filthy thing? Ewww! She looks so dirty.” And you, thank your stars the driver was patient enough; if not, you would have crossed to the other side. Next time, learn to walk with your eyes open and your brain intact.”A young lady said as she dragged the man into the car. I could sense she was the man’s wife. “Carry your filthy body from the road before the driver hits you this time.” She screamed from the car. I managed t
Blessing’s POV“If you don’t pay your debt in thirty days, you and your family will be left with no choice than to lose this house.” These words kept ringing in my head over and over again. “My family and I can’t afford to be on the street.” I thought.*****Few hours ago, two men stepped into our house. I was in the kitchen preparing a meal for my sick mother when I heard a knock at my door. I went to the door, opened it and found two men at the door.“Good day, ma’am. Is this Late Mr. Hayes house?” One of the men asked. It took me some seconds to respond as I was busy shifting my gaze from one man to the other. None of the faces looked familiar.“Yes, he was my father. How may I help you?” I finally responded.“Great. We are from Fixed Capital Investment Company. Your father loaned a huge amount of money from us and the time he signed to pay back is due. We heard he is no more and that is why we have come to inform the family so we can get our payment.” The other man said.I insta
