I replaced my sister. Stepping into Claire’s wedding gown, I vowed myself to Tobin Voss, the most feared mafia lord in the city. It was the perfect deception, my way of punishing her for a lifetime of betrayal. With every smile I gave him, every lie I told, I slipped deeper into her life, hiding my true name beneath the mask of a devoted bride. I thought I could control the game. Pretend. Lie. Survive. But Tobin is not a man easily deceived, and his world is built on blood, power, and loyalty. One slip and I’m dead. Then Claire returned. Broken but ruthless, and hungrier than ever to claim what I stole. Her husband, her throne, her place at his side. Now I am trapped between his dangerous desire, her merciless vengeance, and the secrets that could burn me alive. He thinks I am his bride. She thinks I am her enemy. And I don’t know which one will destroy me first.

-Author.|K I R I L L|The darkness embraces the sky as I step forward in the eerie silence, the sound of dry leaves crunching underneath the pressure of my foot steps. The streets that usually are busy in the morning are deadly calm, haunting silence hung around me as I kept walking forward without letting the darkness around me affect me. The moon hid behind the dusty clouds casting a very blur glow up far from the sky.My each footstep echoed in my ears because of extreme silence that took the hold of these abandoned streets. Taking the gloves out of the pocket of my jeans, I continued my walk while I put them on.I took the mask out from my other pocket without stopping and placed it on my face, hiding my identity from the world and burying the secrets and mysteries of these menacing night. The deserted cabin, that I found here a few days back, came in my sight because of the distant glow that came right from that place. I paused, looking around, carefully, checking just in case someone was being nosy enough today but when I found nothing and no one, I headed towards my destination forward, the deserted cabin.Leaving the dark and standard woodland behind, I, now stood at the door step of the deserted cabin. Taking one last look at my surroundings, I knocked at the door for perfect four times.I stood there waiting for it to be opened and it did, nine seconds later, revealing a man in grey. He was wearing a grey hoodie and sweatpants, his face covered with a skull mask but it did not hid his identity from me. I know who I am looking at, I know who I will be talking to, in short, I know who is he.Ivan Smirnov.Without getting any words out of his mouth, he stepped aside giving me the room to step inside. The silence stayed the same even when I entered a room with few people in here."Is everyone finally here?!" A very sharp and filled with enthusiasm and excitement reached my ears, cutting through the silence.Alexander Petrov. He came in my sight four seconds later, wearing a black t-shirt that had a panda printed on it pairing it with black joggers. He looks like a fucking clown but he claims that this is the dressing style in trend. So, I decided not to waste my words on him."Kiwi!" He screeched with an over bearing elation in his voice, like for some reasons he believes I am his closes friend out of all four of us.Yeah, four.Despite me, Ivan and Alexander, there is one more man who is sitting by the window, staring out at the darkness that surrounds us while his fingers played with the sharp edge of the knife.Nikolay Romanov. He is calm, like usual, but all of us are aware of the storm that swirls inside his body. Even though he looks as cool as ice, we all are aware of the fire that burns his soul. Despite the facade of being the most untangled or resolved person, people think of him as, we all are aware of how fucking messed up this human is.All four of us are somehow screwed in the head. If one is smart enough to keep it inside him, like, Nikolay, other one is dumb enough to not let any moment slip from his palm of exposing himself out of his excitement, like, Alexander."He is in the other room." Ivan spoke the first sentence of today after fifty three minutes while I opened the refrigerator to get myself a bottle of cold water to satisfy my dry throat.I twisted the cap of the bottle open as I gave him a quick nod before bringing the bottle of water to my lips and letting the cold water travel down my throat and to my body through the food pipe."Should I bring him?" Alexander asked, eagerly, his eyes twinkling with the thrill that awaits us.The chair, Nikolay is sitting on screeched audibly as he turns on it to face us with a stoic expression.Nikolay meets my eyes with his blank ones before he takes the mask from the table and puts it on his face, hiding behind it, hiding everything behind it.I glanced at Ivan for his answer and he answered me with a brief nod, the mask still on his face as if it does not suffocate him. But I do not say anything, and decide to mind my own business.Yes, it is that easy.I looked back at Alexander who is waiting for my answer, enthusiastically, like a kid waiting to recieve his candy or anything that rots their teeth to extreme lengths.I give him a nod in response as my lips slightly pulled upward in a smirk, as the adrenaline rushes inside my veins at the thrill that we are going to enjoy every second of.Alexander did not wasted anymore time before sprinting inside the other room to bring out the prey for us predators, the hunt for us hunters and the thrill for us thrillers. One minute and seven seconds later, he returned with a man. Holding him by his collar he dragged the man with amber eyes along with him before pushing him between us, predators, and he ended up landing on the hard floor. His amber eyes filled with unshed tears, that he probably wanted to shed now, but decides not to. His arms have a lots of cut marks, a few are healing while others are fresh but, unfortunately, the blood does not come out to empty his body.My gaze shifted to his bruised face, the body part which Nikolay used as his punching bag and still managed to keep him alive. Alexander is responsible for the blade marks on his arm, yeah, he can be creative like that. When I found no other injuries, my eyes drifted up from him to Ivan in suspicion. Instead of using his mouth to answer my question he tore down the dirty shirt of our captive, revealing the dark red marks of a belt. I hummed, satisfied with his answer.I met the eyes of three of my partners and gave them a nod, directing them to be prepared to chase the prey. They all smiled, an evil smile, that can send chills down one's spine.I gazed downwards, my lips tilting upwards in a crazy satanic and evil smile before I whispered out that one word in a hushed tone, "Run."And, he did.Unfortunately.Annie's POVTobin stood in front of me with a gun aimed at my head and shouted, “The file for Project X is gone! You planned it with your sister, didn’t you? Confess, or I’ll shoot you!”I shook my head and said, “I don’t know anything, Tobin! I swear Claire didn’t tell me anything! I didn’t know she was gone until you said it!”He didn’t move and kept his finger on the trigger and asked, “You expect me to believe that? Your sister’s gone, the file’s gone, and you’re acting like you don’t know?”I said, “I’m not acting! I don’t know what Claire did or who she’s with! I thought she was at my parents’ place like you told me!”Tobin lowered the gun but kept it out and said, “You’re coming with me. If you’re lying, you’re dead.” He turned to his guards who were two big guys in black by the door and ordered, “Take her! Follow me!”They grabbed my arms with a grip that hurt and pulled me out of the guest room. My legs felt weak but I kept walking as we followed Tobin down the hall. My mind
Annie's POVThey took me back to the penthouse. I felt utterly uncomfortable as we stepped inside, and I couldn't keep my mind at ease with what Tobin’s punishment would be.Anyone who crosses him either ends up dead or vanishes, which is pretty much the same thing as being dead.We walked into the penthouse I’d been stuck in for the last four weeks. Tobin nodded at his goons. “Blindfold her.”Rough hands tied a cloth over my eyes. I became scared immediately as they grabbed my arms and led me forward.I stayed still for a while before they held my hand and guided me to walk blindly. After a few seconds, I heard a door squeal open. The guards’ footsteps retreated, leaving me alone and the lock clicked behind me.“Take off the blindfold,” Tobin’s voice ordered.I pulled it off and blinked.Holy shit. I’d never seen this room before.Black walls, chains dangling from the ceiling, hooks everywhere. A wooden cross with leather straps stood in one corner. A metal cage big enough for someon
Annie's POVI created the nightmare I found myself in…If I knew I'd be getting married to Tobin Voss, I would have found another way, maybe release her?I never wanted it to come to this, but Claire left me no choice. She has always taken what was mine. My boyfriend, my grades, even the attention from my parents. She knows how to twist things, how to make people see her as the golden one and paint me as the jealous sister. But the last straw wasn’t about a boy or a lecturer. It was my scholarship. That scholarship was my escape to my already hard life. I worked myself to the bone for it. Late nights, early mornings, no friends, no distractions, just books and discipline. It was supposed to be mine.My one way out of this crappy life that I live. But Claire, as usual, couldn’t stand to see me have something she didn’t. She flirted with one of the board members and somehow convinced him to hand it over to her. When the letter came and it had her name on it instead of mine, I felt somet
Annie's POVThe nightmare of marrying my twin sister’s fiancé was finally beginning to fade. I’d slipped into her life seamlessly, scrubbing away every trace that might make Tobin Voss suspect the truth.I was still on edge...I was always watching, always listening, but so far, I had played my part flawlessly. So, please… Tell me why.Tell me why my sister is standing at the gate in the middle of the night?"Who is there, Annie?" I heard Tobin's voice from up the stairs and I could hear his footsteps getting nearer.“No one! Just a stray!” I yelled out loud enough to stop him from coming downstairs.I glared at the monitor once more just to be sure it was really Claire, my sister.Fuck! We are all dead if Tobin finds out he has been duped.“Who is there?” I heard Tobin's voice right behind me.I felt my soul leave my body as I turned around to meet him a few meters away from me.“It is just a stray,” I repeated my answer.“Why then is your face stuck to that monitor like you had seen
