Chapter 1: Humans

POV: Winston

There was something about being immortal that was beautiful. The fact that no one was waiting for you to slip before they could catch your hand. There was no cliche part in any side of your life. You are just alive, nothing to breed on, nothing to feed on. You just stare through the middle of the blinds in your large office, a place you can watch pathetic humans walk and pass with their daily activities all going through their heads. 

I felt like that every moment. It was sickening to observe humans. There was nothing special about them, except the fact that they all claimed to love deeply, which was a lie because every single one of them ends up hurting the person that they love. I was just immortal, and sometimes I wanted to stare hard at them like I knew I could, because they were beneath me, and sometimes, it is simply not possible. 

I had a meeting to attend by 2 pm and I still had a lot of papers to sign. I hadn’t even had lunch yet and I was still busy. ASOS was moving forward as I had originally planned from the very beginning, that was my second hobby. Planning things. Apart from the various resort homes and other things that I had, watching my company grow for the better was the best. I know the purpose of this meeting is to close a deal that I had been longing for years now. 

It was finally happening and as happy as I was I couldn't take my mind off lunch. I know that I haven't been eating properly because I wanted to close this deal as fast as I could, ASOS couldn't afford to wait another year for it to be realized. I had spent years just for this deal. ASOS was always topping the news as the best five underwear companies in the world and I was not going to stop now. Not now, not anytime soon. 

Being the billionaire CEO of ASOS, it was my top priority to take the company to greater heights, and closing this deal beautifully was one of them. Yes, I am a billionaire, my name has appeared in lots of magazines and newspapers as one of the best businessmen in the country, even in Forbes, although it gets old. But there was something these humans thought they could, figure out every part of my life, which obviously, they could not, there is just something they can never get, even in their many years to come. 

I mean I've been in business for years now and there's nothing that I haven't been through to get to this point and sometimes I look back and reminisce. I smile just thinking of the old times when men's and women's underwear wasn't a big deal, people didn't care what brands they wore, it mattered.

I had to prove them wrong. Underwear was a very serious type of clothing and should therefore be taken seriously, people choosing carefully the kind of brands they wore. That was my priority and I succeeded.

I checked my watch and it was almost 2 pm. I packed my desk, getting ready to go for my meeting. I liked just a few things at this point of my life, my office, my house, and of course what is a man without pleasure? 

Nothing. 

My mind went back to last night, the crazy blonde that warmed my bed and my cock. I shivered, smirking. I'll fantasize about the rest later but right now I have a meeting to attend. I stepped out of my office and almost ran into my secretary. Her soft, blonde hair cascaded down her heart-shaped face in silky waves. She was a pretty woman. What was life going to be without pretty women?

Her eyes brightened as she exclaimed, "Mr. Winston! Your meeting starts in a few minutes!" 

I raised an eyebrow at her. "I am aware of that. Have you prepared the paperwork?" 

"O...oh yes sir!" she replied, handing me the file she had been holding in her hand.

I took the file and looked through it, nodding in confirmation. 

"Alright then." I closed the file and nodded curtly at her. "Thank you."

It was a brisk walk to the meeting room, two levels above us and in the elevator, I cross-checked the files again to make sure there were no lose ends.

It was important to be meticulous with these dealings.

 Walking into the conference room, all eyes turned to me as I stood at the threshold of the room, immediately getting assaulted by different scents, perfumes, and odors.

That was the thing with being what I was. I could sniff out scents I wasn't even interested in. Usually, I ignored this primal instinct, but being in a space with these many people only heightened my senses.

Pleasantries were exchanged and we got down to business immediately, going over everything we hadn't finalized yet.

The meeting didn't take too long as we had already gone over the deal before and the only thing left was to close it, which we finally did. I was happy indeed. Happy enough to dwell in the well-deserved praise and pat myself on the back. 

The whole deal was a success and I was proud, it wasn't easy to get but I guess something just happened right?

"Thank you, everyone, for the effort that you all put into this. I'm grateful and I'm glad to announce that everyone will receive a bonus along with their salaries when it's payday." I announced this to the team who made this a success. They all clapped, shouting thank-yous with smiles on their faces. 

"Mr. Winston? You have a call, it's a private number" my secretary handed my phone over to me.

"Hello? Who is this?" I asked but there was no reply. 

I was about to ask again when- " Hello Winston. I hear you are celebrating your success after getting that deal you have always wanted." The familiar voice responded.

The hairs on the back of my neck rose. Shivers traveled down my spine. 

His voice... His voice reminded me of something deep, something that others cannot find out about me... No matter what.

I left the room quietly and inconspicuously, keeping my voice at bay and trying to maintain a calm composure as I kept the volume of the call very low so only I could make out what was being said.

"Why are you calling me?" I growled into the phone, gazing out the window and trying to imagine his stupid face. "This better be an important, asshole."

"Wow!" The sarcastic voice of my best friend and favourite person in the world, for now at least, laughed happily. "Good fucking day to you too. One question! Do you ever stop being a jerk?"

"Nathan!" I snapped, trying to control my annoyance. "Get to the point."

"Fine. Sheesh. You know, it helps to get laid every once in a century. Does wonders for your psyche-"

"I warned you not to call just because you want to but because there's something important you want to discuss. Do not test me." I said, coldly.

"Chill man." He sounded serious now. " I heard you closed the deal. I just want to congratulate you, okay? I'm proud of you, man."

I sighed, deciding to cut him some slack. "Thanks..." 

If he was still the childish asshole I know he is, I knew he was rolling his eyes sarcastically at me as he said, "Yeah, sure. Thanks, Nathan," he mocked my voice.

"I mean it!" I growled.

God, this idiot really knows how to push my buttons.
