Harold's POV.

I was disappointed.

I was extremely disappointed in Damien's choice of a personal assistant for the first time in my life. It was the first time he was doing something I didn't agree with.

Coming into the office to meet an empty seat made anger course down my blood. Why would someone be this late on their first day? Especially after everything. After I asked that she always came to work early.

My excitement felt like it had been punctured like a deflated ball and it had quickly been replaced with anger and disappointment.

I couldn't help checking the time frequently even after I settled down in my office. I couldn't help checking to see when she would come in. And when she walked in at past nine, I didn't know why my anger multiplied.

She stood there by the door, watching me and fidgeting with the things in her hand. It was so apparent that she was nervous with the way she kept shaking and wouldn't comport herself.
