CHAPTER 59

Riella's POV.

I pulled the car to a stop in the middle of the driveway to our house. Just like Harold had requested that I did, I had gotten my job over with and was now here at my house.

I heaved a sigh as I gathered my things in my hand before pushing the door open and stepping out. The sky, a beautiful orange ray spread out on it that cast a beautiful glow down to earth. It was like the color orange had smeared a blue surface; so beautiful, so natural.

I tucked a stray hair behind the back of my ear. I had let my hair down on my way back from work. Setting my lips into a small smile, I ambled toward the door where I knew Carolyn was patiently waiting.

But when I pushed open the door and stepped into the living room; the empty sight of the place was what greeted me. There was no Winter, no sight of my bubbly best friend.

Strange.

I kissed my teeth and set down my things on one of the couches before making my way toward the kitchen. Mostly because my throat was itchy and dry.
