CHAPTER 6

"Mother?" I call. I just arrived from the convenient store with Mr. Hendrake. It's almost 9 P.M. I didn't realize the time.

I called Mom's name again but no one answered. Maybe they are already asleep because the night will soon fall. Mom will have a lot more to take care of tomorrow.

I went to the kitchen and opened the lid of the pot. I sighed when I saw that there was no more food there.

Fortunately, I ate there at the convenient store.

I went to the room and opened the door. I smiled when I saw Mom as well as my two brothers side by side in the same bed and sleeping soundly.

I looked at Mom and shook my head when I saw the wound on her hand from washing clothes. It is guaranteed that she will not be able to act properly again. I approached her and fixed the blanket.

"Don't worry, Mother, we can get out of poverty," I whispered softly. I smiled before leaving the room.
