The next morning, Bruce was one of the first people to arrive at the office. As one of the early birds, I happened to cross paths with him in the office, and I could tell he was in a bad mood and he looked like he was ready to bite someone's head off.

"Why the hell didn't you arrange the files I asked you to arrange yesterday?" Bruce asked. "And why haven't you replied to my text from last night?" he added.

“Why should I arrange files that I didn't disorganize?" I responded. "And I didn't see your text last night. I slept off and I must have missed the notification this morning," I added.

"You slept off while your boss was texting you?" he retorted. "This shows how unserious you really are about your work," he remarked.

"I… uh…" I stammered.

"I warned you not to talk back at me." He barked.” And mind you, I want all those files arranged before the end of today," he instructed sternly.

"But..." I tried to interject.

"No more excuses. You may leave," he dismissed me.
