Abandoned

Louis was on his phone throughout the flight.

He was back to being Mr. Grumpy immediately his personal assistant had stepped out of the limo to sort out stuff. She never came back.

And Wendy could not be any happier. She was tired of the lady's constant trolling.

She spent the entire flight stealing glances at her hunk of a husband. She stared at his long neat fingers that wrapped around his phone, gently and yet firmly. The way his fingers moved when he pulled them through his hair unconsciously. The crease between his eyebrows each time he concentrated a little harder. She stared at his muscled thighs crossed delicately, one on another.

Her husband was hot.

She tasted the word, husband, in her mouth over and over again. Louis was her husband.

But he hated her.

She did not expect that the man would love her or even like her. His taste in women was obviously very different from her plain face and body. Even if he kept his relationships from public eyes, he looked like a man who preferred models, actresses and beauty queens. But the fact that he thought the worst of her and hated her for trying to screw his life up was what she didn't like.

And God, she had tried. She had tried to prove her innocence. But it was obvious his mind was made up. To him, she was that lowly prostitute that tried to set him up.

She made a mental note to have a talk with him again concerning the allegations. She was not sure she could live with a man for God knows how long, when he thought the worst of her.

She would wait till he was calm enough to listen to her. Those cameramen had obviously been following them from the event to the hotel. He was a public figure, it was only natural they followed him.

'Hello, Señora.' Wendy felt someone shake her. She opened her eyes and saw an old man hovering over her with a wide smile on his face. She screamed, startled.

'Señora, it's me.' The man assured.

She looked at him and wondered if she was supposed to recognise him.

'I don't know you.' She looked around. It was obvious she had dozed off. The helicopter had landed and Louis, her husband, was no where in sight.

The old man laughed. 'I know you don't know me. I am Mr. Schelling's foreman. Please call me Santiago.' The man's smile was so friendly that it scared Wendy.

'And where is Mr. Schelling?' She asked.

'He should be having his nap, Señora. He ate lunch and -'

'He ate lunch? For how long have I been in here?' The man didn't leave her in his chopper, sleeping. No he couldn't.

'I don't know how long you have been in here. I just came around to check the helicopter and saw you. The boss probably forgot you in here. Please Señora, let me help you down.'

Forget her? Was she a shoe or a piece of cloth that could be forgotten? Was this the game he had brought her to this place to play?

'Thank you.' She murmured when the kind old man helped her down. Her sandals sank into the warm clean sand. She looked around, momentarily stunned at the beauty around her. The Island was surrounded by beautiful deep blue waters.

'This place is beautiful.' She whispered.

The man beside her chuckled, took her hand gently and let her towards the white magnificent mansion that stood in the centre of the island.

'Mr. Schelling owns this place?' She whispered as soon as she stepped into the building. It was palatial. It was a freaking castle. The large beautiful and delicate chandeliers almost reached the floor. Very large portraits of a beautiful woman with Louis' green eyes and brown hair hung on almost every wall.

The man laughed again. 'Clarissa!' He called.

A red faced woman in rather too many clothes appeared quickly.

'She's Mr. Schelling's guest. Take her to one of the guest rooms while I confirm from the boss where she should be kept.'

The woman gave Wendy a tiny mischievous smile and led her to a room.

'Do you not have any luggage? Or will you leave tonight?' The red-faced woman asked in a tiny voice. The mischievous twinkle was still in her eyes.

Didn't the man tell his staff anything about her?

'My luggages are coming.' Was all she managed to say. At least, she was promised new clothes.

The woman left and Wendy slumped on the king size bed. The woman's large portrait was in the room as well. She imagined it was in every room. She stared the beautiful woman with soft green eyes. The woman was gorgeous.

Wendy wondered if she was Louis' mum. She imagined what she would have to say about their arranged marriage and if she would hate her like her son did.

She could not believe Louis left her unattended to, in a chopper and went for lunch and a nap. He could not be that heartless to eat while she dozed in a parked chopper.

Her stomach growled in protest. She hissed and turned on her belly. She had not eaten since the previous evening and she was hungry. Her stomach growled again and she sat up angrily.

Where the hell was her husband? Yes, he did not like her but he did not have to starve her.

And where in heaven's name were her clothes? She was not expected to walk in the heely sandals forever, or was she? Wendy furiously pulled off her sandals and threw them across the room.

How dare he bring to a strange place and treat her like trash?

Without thinking, she marched out of the room into the hall way.

'Louis Schelling!' She screamed on the top of her voice. 'Louis Schelling, you had better come the fuck out from wherever you are now before I scream this house down.'

Doors began to open and different domestic staff begin to sneak out. Everybody is visibly surprised by her outburst.

'Louis Schelling! Louis Schelli-' She stopped when Santiago rushed out and grabbed her.

'What are you doing, Señora?' He whispered tugging her hand. 'Mr. Schelling does not like his women making scenes around here. You'll get into trouble if-'

'His women? His women?' She exclaimed on the top of her voice. 'I'm not his woman! I'm his fucking wife!'

Everybody gasped.

'Yes, I'm his wife. Louis Schelling, you didn't tell them that I'm your wife. Yes, he gave me a fucking large ring. You see it?' She flashed her ring to everyone.

'Louis Schelling, you better get your ass down here or I am going to get my phone and make a video, telling the world what about the truth behind our union. I am going to tell-'

' Enough!' Louis' voice boomed and Wendy looked up to see her husband standing at the head of stairs looking at her with hard eyes.

Everybody scurried away including Santiago.

Wendy watched her husband walk down the stairs with anger visible in his features and she felt like she was shrinking. She could almost feel the heat from his body as he got closer.

'I w-was l-looking f-for you.' She stuttered.

'What did I tell you about drama?' He growled. His voice was dangerously low. ' Come with me.' He took her arm and dragged her out of the house.
