My Parents are Bitches.

'You live here?' Barbara asked. Her nose was turned up in disgust.

Wendy nodded. She looked at her house from the window of the limo and wondered what was wrong with it. She had never felt embarrassed about how her house looked. At least not from the outside.

If there was anything would embarass her, it was the thought of her visitor stumbling into empty liquor bottles that were usually scattered everywhere or bumping into her parents sniffing some drugs.

That was why she had no friends. She never let herself get so close to any one. That way, no one had an excuse to come to her house.

'But prostitutes are paid fairly well for the obvious little job they do. Why do you still-' Barbara continued.

'Bee, just let the girl go see her parents. There's no need for these questions.'

Barbara quickly switched to puppy dog eyes mode. 'Louis, I'm just looking out for you. She is just a gold digger.'

'Barbara, I know. But we don't have all day. Let her go see her parents. I'm already stressed from all these nonsense. Plus, we have a flight to catch.'

'Fine.' Barbara sulked.

When Wendy got out of the car, she stared at the apartment she had lived all the her life with her self absorbed parents. Nothing had changed with the years.

Her parents made shit loads of money. And yet her life was basic. Less than basic. No flashy clothes she knew they could afford. They would not even send her to college.

Her father was only interested in gambling thousands of dollars away and coming home high and drunk. Her mum was invested in gathering jewelry, drugs and alcohol as well.

No one had ever cared about her. She took care of everyone. Cleaned up every time her drunk parents made a mess. She always made the sacrifices.

Now she had made one sacrifice. This one that had changed her life, completely.

She squared her shoulders and matched into the house.

Immediately she opened the door, the familiar scent of booze hit her. Her mum sat leisurely at their worn couch sipping from a wine glass. The casualness in her posture was annoying.

Wendy started to march towards her mum, fuming. How dare she be so relaxed? The woman heard her footsteps and stood quickly, glass in hand.

'My babyyy'

'Cut the nonsense mum!' Wendy screamed.

The woman had the nerves to look hurt.

'Wendyyy' Her mum purred.

'You have the nerve to sit and sip wine when I was held hostage by someone immoral enough to pay for a prostitute?'

Her mother looked at the wine glass in her hand, hissed and put it down on the table. She moved to where Wendy stood and began to inspect her body with exaggerated concern.

'Did he hurt you?' She kept asking.

'Stop it!' Wendy screamed, tears falling down her cheeks. 'Mum, a man called you threatening hell and you're so relaxed? Tell me you called the police.'

'Call the police? Call the police? Wendy do you know what the police would do to us? Do to our business?'

'So what did you do? Just tell me you did something. Anything. And where the hell is dad?' She screamed again.

'Your dad he was beaten up yesterday in the casino bar. He got into a fight. He is in a really bad shape.'

'So he didn't do anything to save me. You both did nothing to get me out of the mess you got me into in the first place.'

'Your dad doesn't know what happened. But I was worried. But I knew I brought up a strong woman. I knew you would get out of the situation. I missed you my babyyyy' The woman held her in a tight hug.

Footsteps were heard and they both turned to see who it was.

'Sugar' Her mother murmured, her eyes suddenly emotionless. It was one of the girls that worked for her mum. Her mother quickly handed the girl a piece of paper. ' That's the address.' And soon the girl was gone.

Wendy stood there speechless. She had seen these girls come in and go out of their house for years and not once had she considered that they were prostitutes and not excorts.

'You guys trade prostitutes? Like all of them June, Syann, Monica, Sugar, Brenda, all the girls, they are prostitutes?' More tears were flowing.

'Wendy babyyyy'

'You knew I was going to be compelled to sleep with that man and you still asked me to stand in for Monica?'

'I explained everything to you, Wendy. And I knew you would not let anyone force himself on you.'

'How low can you get mum?'

'Chileee, everything we do, we do for you.'

'Oh, shut up! You've never done anything for me. All you've done is use these girls to satisfy your greed. You even used me as well. I'm the one who has continued to clean up after you guys.'

'I really don't understand why you're being dramatic.' The woman hissed and picked up her glass of wine. 'You're back home already. What's the big deal? You even got yourself good clothes and jewelry. I should be angry. You got there and did heaven knows what to my highest paying client.' She lowered herself on the couch.

'What the fuck? Like what the fuck did you just say to me? You hitched me up with a man as a prostitute. He called you threatening to do things to me and you sit there and say those things to me. You didn't even try to save me, for fuck sake!' Wendy shouted.

'How am I supposed to look for you? I don't even have the guy's name?' Her mother shouted back.

'You don't - You don't have the names of these clients?'

'They do not register on the site with their real identity. There was no way I could have known who was keeping you!'

What was this woman saying? Wendy was stunned. This woman actually pimped her to a man she didn't even know?

'But you definitely saw the news. You saw the blogs and the-'

'Wendy, your father was furious and broke my phone yesterday morning. I could only make calls with the old landline. June is getting me a new one today.'

'Fuck! So you didn't see me on the news, you didn't -?

'Why were you on the news? You didn't kill someone, did you?' Her mother dropped her glass of wine.

'Oh well, I got into trouble and I got married to your client.' She flashed her ring and she saw the woman's eye glow with greed.

Her mother stood up and grabbed her hand.

'Wendy, this is one huge ring. This man is wealthy. He is wealthy, right? Oh my God, look at this rock!'

Wendy snatched her hand back. Irritated and disgusted at her mother.

'I'm going to my room to get my phone and few things. I have a honeymoon to get to.' She almost ran to her room and her mother followed her.

'You can't leave without telling me who your husband is? I would want to know him this my son-in-law who can afford such a ring.'

'Louis Schelling.' Wendy murmured.

'I know a Schelling. He wants to be mayor.'

'His son.'

'Oh wow, my baby got herself a wealthy husband. I'm so proud of you.'

'You're not even going to ask me why I married him?'

'It doesn't matter. Can I meet him?'

'No' Wendy picked up her phone and stormed out of the room.

'Whyyy? Babyyy' Her mother followed her.

'Look, mum,' Wendy turned when they got to the hall. 'I would not let your greedy fangs get anywhere near my husband and you had better be careful. He doesn't know you are connected to the prostitution stuff. He is deadly. Stay away from us!'

'Wendyyy, that's not a nice thing to say to your mum.'

'And you weren't exactly nice to your daughter when you pimped her out as a prostitute.' She walked quickly to the exit door.

'I said I'm sorry.' She heard her mum sat before she opened the door.

'I don't care.' She opened the door and stepped out. 'Fuck you.' She murmured under her breath and shut the door hard behind her.

Now, it was time for the honeymoon.
