Revival

Hogwarts Castle, Somewhere in the Scottish Highlands

November 22nd, 1992, 7:25 PM

Lord Ravenclaw, Headmaster basher extraordinaire, quickly passed by the group that were waiting for him at the start of the Great Staircase, and started to climb it. In no mood, at the moment, for small talk, just rethinking about what he had just obliged to do, again.

'Politics, it's always politics!'

*sigh*

Sighing, Erik is pulled out of his thoughts by the numerous portraits hanging by the walls of the Great Staircase, all of them greeting him while he climbs. He, of course, greets them back.

Arriving on the floor of the castle where the medical wing is located, Erik is already in a much better mood. And his companions on this little journey notice it too. Professor McGonagall, gathering all her Gryffindor courage, takes in a big breath and asks 'his' new Lord and boss.

"Lord Ravenclaw, if you don't mind my question, but how did you become Lord Ravenclaw?"

Chuckling a little, while the 'bimbo' Leona quickens her steps and hugs his arm dearly, Erik answers the Professor's question.

"No, I don't mind, Professor McGonagall. Like Baron Black said in the Great Hall minutes before, I married into the Ravenclaw family. Susan and I have been sweethearts since my start here in Hogwarts, when I was eleven. Mother-in-law, that is, Rowena, noticing that we would not stay apart from each other, started teaching me out of the school curriculum. Salazar and Helga took part of my weekends and started to teach me all types of extra tidbits. Manners, management, traditions, politics. Everything that they could teach to help me out of the school curriculum, they taught me. Eventually, Susan and I started dating, and we married when we were twenty years old. That day, Rowena adopted me in the family too, naming me Lord Ravenclaw."

Professor McGonagall, now understood a little more about her boss, together with Mr. Filch and Madam Pomfrey, and seeing that they were almost in the infirmary, tried one more quick question.

"And why would Salazar Slytherin and Helga Huflepuff go out of their ways to teach you?"

Smiling a little, still remembering the time that the three founders spent teaching him, he answered the Professor.

"You see, it's very simple, Salazar was Susan 's godfather. She even has the middle name 'Sally' in honor of her godfather. And Helga, since she couldn't have children of her own, loved the Ravenclaw twins like they were hers. They saw what Rowena was doing, and decided to help her friend in educating her future son-in-law. It helped too in Helga's case that I was one of her 'Puffs'."

Finished Erik just as he arrived at the infirmary double doors and swung them open.

Erik awaits with Leona, still hugging one of his arms affectionately, for Madam Pomfrey to enter the infirmary first. When she does, she quickly directs Erik and the other to where the petrified kitten and student were.

Erik observes the victims and pats lightly on Leona's arm.

"Leona, honey, please examine and diagnose the victims for us?"

Leona looks up to Erik's face, gives him a smile and nods her head. Letting his arm go, she goes to the hospital bed with the petrified cat on it.

A blue magic circle encompassing the cat's petrified body appears over itm and starts to slowly go up and down, bathing the cat's petrified body on its light.

Mr. Filch, the kitten's owner, looks at the process with apprehension. Madam Pomfrey seems very curious about the diagnostic method that she is using. While Erik and Professor McGonagall just standing, watching the process.

Not later than 30 seconds, Leona finishes with the cat, and starts the same process with the petrified student.

Erik notices the boy's strange arms position, and asks Professor McGonagall about it.

"Professor McGonagall, do you know why this student has his arms in such a strange position?"

The Professor smiles a little, and answers Erik.

"Mr. Creevey is a muggle-born student, and like most of them, he got very excited when was told about the magical world. He had a hobby of taking photos in the muggle world, and when he discovered that magical photos could move, he spent the little money that he had buying a magic camera. And from the moment he put his feet on the Platform 9¾, he started taking photos of everyone everywhere. He was found holding his camera, like taking a photo, but the internals of the camera were totally destroyed during the attack."

Letting a 'hmm' out, Erik observes Leona finishing the examinations, taking at least three times the time that it took with the petrified kitten.

Leona approaches Erik and talks to him about what she found.

"The state of petrification that both victims are suffering is very similar to the Gorgon Sisters' curse, but way weaker than theirs, but the origin of the curse is the same, in a snake-like creature. I can wake them up at any moment."

Erik nods at Leona's explanation, with crossed arms he just says, still looking at the petrified student. The staff members in the infirmary are holding their breath, unconsciously, while looking at him.

"Do it."

The staff member let their breath out. Leona smiles and gives a nod at him, and goes to the petrified kitten first.

The blue magic circle emcompasses the body of the petrified cat again, but this time it just hover above it, bathing the petrified cat in its blue light. Thirty seconds later, the magic circle fades, the cat twitches and lets out a meow. Shifting its body, the now not petrified cat assumes a sitting position on the bed, and looks around in confusion.

Mr. Filch immediately rushes to his cat's bedside, crying in happiness while at the same time coos 'thank you's and scratches Mrs. Norris behind its ears.

Everyone smiles at that. Professor McGonagall even takes a handkerchief and dabs the corner of her eyes.

"How are your reserves, Leona?"

Leona looks from the cat and owner duo to Erik and answers him.

"I still have over three quarters of my reserves, more precisely around 85%."

Erik nods at her.

"You have built up your reserves a lot in the last decade, honey, good job!"

Erik compliments Leona, resulting in her puffing her chest out, making her already big boobs look even bigger.

"Now if you can, please, wake the student up."

Leona gives him a quick nod and goes complete her task.

The same process used with Mr. Norris is started with the petrified student, just this time the blue magic circle is bigger because the student's body is bigger that the cat's one.

Madam Pomfrey, having seen Leona waking up Mrs. Norris, using just her magic, asks Erik about her.

"Lord Ravenclaw, I hope that you don't find my question impertinent, but who is this woman?"

Erik gives her a mysterious smile, while thinking about how much he tells. Making his decision, he answers the mediwitch while Leona is still in the process of waking up the petrified student.

"Have you ever heard about a famous Italian polymath that lived around the 1500s, named Leonardo Da Vinci?"

Professor McGonagall, interested in the answer too, nods her head in an affirmative way, while Madam Pomfrey directly answers.

"Yes, I have. Some of his works in human physiology are still reference material for healer training."

Hearing that, Erik concludes with almost a grin in his face.

"Leona is the twin sister of that man. Born after him with double of his brains. Great part of her brother's work is, in reality, written by her, including the one on human physiology that you used as reference. She just couldn't be recognized for it because of the culture of the time, and her family took her work and published it with her brother's name."

Madam Pomfrey and Professor McGonagall were now seeing the 'bimbo', Leona Da Vinci, with totally different eyes.

Their short talk finishes, and just in time to see the magic circle fading. The student's arms, that were frozen in a strange position near his face, relaxes together with the rest of his body and soon, the boy blinks, taking long ones first, and then looking around in confusion. Seeing all those adults around him, he slowly asks.

"Er… Where am I?"

Madam Pomfrey, quickly taking in her responsibilities as mediwitch, waves her wand over the now not petrified student checking his vital signs, and answers his question.

"You are in the infirmary, Mr. Creevey."

Mr. Creevey blinks more, taking in what he had just heard, and abruptly tries to sit up in the hospital bed yelling.

"Ah!!! The big snake! Where is it? What happened to it?"

The student was clearly agitated. Everyone in the room managed to notice that. Professor McGonagall quickly tries to calm him.

"Calm down Mr. Creevey, you are safe here."

The boy manages to calm a little and convince himself that everything was all right.

"What happened?"

The boy asked his Professor and head of house.

"You were found, yesterday just before the curfew, petrified at the base of the Great Staircase."

The Professor answers him. Doing a surprise face with wide eyes and even an 'o' like mouth shape, Colin Creevey seemed to understand what happened to him. Taking more of the ambient, he recognizes the figures of Madam Pomfrey and Mr. Filch, but can't seem to recognize the tall man with cool hairstyle, or even the pretty blonde by his side.

Erik, noticing that the boy was calmer, introduces himself and Leona to him.

"Hello Mr.Creevey, my name is Erik Ravenclaw, Lord of Ravenclaw and the Hogwarts castle, and this, by my side, is one of my wifes, Leona Da Vinci. She was the one that woke you and Mrs. Norris up from the petrified state."

Leona, who was again by Erik's side and again hugging one of his arms, looked at the boy and gave him a gentle smile. At that, Colin looked to Leona and thanked her.

"Thank you, Mrs. Da Vinci, thank you a lot!"

Leona just continued to smile at him in aprovation and continued to hug Erik's arm. Erik, seeing that the formalities were finished, jumped to ask the thousand galleons question.

"So Mr. Creevey, can you tell us what you remember about last night? Everything that you can remember can help us."

And Colin started to talk. And boy did he talk!

"Well, after the winning match party in the common room, I decided to talk to Larry, make him some company, imagining that he would be bored alone in the infirmary while regrowing the bones of his entire arm and hand, even more after I heard some others boys talking that you can't sleep while the potion is in effect. Then I went down to the kitchens and asked the elves for some good snacks for someone recovering. They gave me a bowl full of grapes, and I thanked them. Then I went out of the kitchen to go to the infirmary. It was when I was starting to climb the stairs that I saw the big snake. At least I saw part of it, I saw its tail. And it was big, really big! I was so surprised that I dropped the bowl of grapes on the ground. Then the snake stopped moving and I heard a hissing sound. I thought that the snake would flee, and if I would tell about it, people would not believe its size. Then I quickly took my camera to take a picture, and then... And then…. And then I was here, on the hospital bed."

The adults around him were all looking at him with wide eyes. Madam Pomfrey was the one that seemed to recover first, and gave a glass of water to Mrs. Creevey.

Erik then goes to Mr. Filch, who had Mrs. Norris cuddled in his chest.

"And you Mrs. Norris, what did you see?"

Erik asked while looking right into her eyes. All adults, less Leona, and Colin, looked at him with strange eyes, like he was nuts in trying to interrogate a cat. But the cat did a series of meows back to him, like it was answering his question.

*meow, meow, meow*

"Hmm... Thanks cutie."

Erik thanks the cat for the meows/answer and scratches her little head. He then walks back to Leona, who goes back to hug his arm.

"I'm now pretty confident in the identity of the attacker, and it really is Salazar's monster."

He says with conviction. Then he turns to Colin and says the truth about the situation that he just escaped from.

"Your hobby of photography, Mr. Creevey, really saved your life. The lens of your camera took all the brunt of the attack, if you had been slower, I fear that you would have died last night."

The boy and the adults around him blanch at the blunt of his words.

"So, continue with your hobby of taking photos, Mr. Creevey, but remember to ask permission from the person you are taking the photo first, after all, nobody likes a paparazzi. Who knows if you will end up winning some photography competition in the future~."

Erik continues saying to the boy, encouraging him in the pursuit of his hobby. Colin's face turns from its white state to a blushed one, and he mumbles back an inaudible 'I will'.

"Now that the petrified is not petrified anymore, if Madam Pomfrey allows, let's go back to the Great Hall, shall we? There's a feast in progress!"

Erik says, looking to the castle's mediwitch. That nods, liberating her patients.

Colin gets up from the bed to accompany the adults and the cat back to the Great Hall, when Erik adds.

"By the way, Mr. Creevey, keep the part of the big snake and the hissing out of your recount of the events for now, please? We don't want anyone being accused of anything without concrete proof."

Colin nods at the request. He is just a first year muggleborn, but already knows what will happen if people start to point fingers without proof.

While walking back to the Great Hall, Erik asks Madam Pomfrey.

"Tell me, Madam Pomfrey, why was the student named Larry in the infirmary to regrow the bones of one entire limb?"

Madam Pomfrey visibly pursed her lips in fury and answered.

"It was a quidditch accident, Lord Ravenclaw, a simple cracked wrist that I could have fixed in a jiff. But the new DADA professor resolved to take the matter in his own hands instead of taking Mr. Potter to me. The boy even said that tried to stop him, but he insisted on fixing the issue, and he is 'the great' Gilderoy Lockheart."

The last part was said with anger in her belly.

"He ended up messing the spell up and vanished all of Mr. Potter's arm and hand's bones. And he had the audacity to say after that now that he had no bones, there was no more crack to fix!"

The angry mediwitch continued to mumble, after that, what appeared to be some very creative names for this Gilderoy Lockheart.

And Erik, he just filed that tidbit of information for revision later.
