The Mysterious Lake

Author’s POV:

A mysterious lake: A small town away from California. People of the town have been seeing this pond over 100 years. But yet they know nothing about that lake like who created it and who is using this.!!

Most surprising matter is the water label of that lake never changed and the water is fresh as always. The lake area is restricted and there is a boundary covering the lake. People say that few deaths incident occurred who entered into that area. Some used to say that this is somehow connected to the electric power plant which is around two kilometers away from the lake. But none knew how and why this is connected to that electric power plant.

It was heavily raining there at the night. A van entered into the power plan area very quickly and stopped in front of a door where Dr. Sheen was standing with an umbrella. He shouted, “Jordan, take the body and keep it in proper place and be very careful”.

It is few minutes before dawn, A boy of 14 years old sanding on a hill outside the restricted area, seeing that the water is gone from the lake and two persons came out from the bottom ground of the lake. They talked about something and then they did something on the ground and again went somewhere. The water is back again just like before.... “Mack, Mack, wake up, you are getting late for school”, his mother Dina Daniel was calling him.

He wakes up and stands on the floor then started going towards the washroom twitching his eyes by his fingers. Started brushing his tooth. Looking at the mirror he thought to himself that if he should visit that lake.

“Deisy… come down baby and have your breakfast, you are getting late for your school”, her mother, Jenifer shouted. From the dining table, Ron, her younger brother said that she was a nut who always do late for breakfast. “She is your elder sister, Ron”, said their father, Mickle. She came down and tapped Mickle’s head. Taking a bread, she said that she would be late today as she wanted to do some assignment works with Belley. Yeah, ok. But be home before sunset., said her mother. “Oh.! come on mom, I am 18 now”, she argued. “You are not 18, honey”. “Yeah, is just one month left”. “I am waiting for you both at the car”, saying that Mickle stood up and went towards the car.

Ron and Mack were talking and waking towards their classroom. “Ron, do you have any idea, where is Jerry?” asked Mack. “No idea”, replied Ron. Some senior asked them “where is your third musketeer”? “We haven’t seen him today yet”, Mack replied.

In the classroom while the class was going on, they were whispering. Ron said “did Jerry tell anything that he would not be present today”? Mack replied “I did not hear anything like that from him. Let’s visit him in the afternoon”. “Ok” Ron agreed. In the meantime, the professor noticed them that they were not attentive to the class and throwed a piece of chalk. As soon as Mack noticed that the chalk hit him in his forehead and heard the lecturer ordering them to get out of class. Both of them stood up and said sorry and promised the lecturer that they should not do that again. The teacher allowed them to continue with the class.

At the tiffin time, Mack and Ron both went to the basketball ground. Sat in the spectators’ area and started having their tiffin. There a game was going on. They were enjoying the game. Suddenly, they heard “Come on Zen”, someone shouted. “She is your sister, right?”, Mack said to Ron. “Yeah, a stupid one”, Ron replied. “I see”, agreed Mack. “What do you mean by ‘I see’”, Ron argued. Mack astonished and said “What”? Why did you say that? I just said as you. “She is my sister I can say. Why you?” Ron asked. “Ok, I am sorry...”.  The game ended where Zen’s team had lost the game. He was frustrated. She went down and passed water bottle and said “yeah it is ok, you have done your part quite well”.

At the end of school there was a rush. Ron’s mother reached there to pick up her son and Mack started cycling to his home. “Mom, today Jerry did not come to school” Ron said to his mom. “Why? He usually did not miss school”, Ron’s mom said. “Yeah. Today I am planning to visit his house in the afternoon”, Ron said. “Is it important, honey”, asked mom. “Don’t worry mom. Mack will be with me. We both planned to go there”, Ron replied. “Ok then come back home early”, Ron’s mom added. Ron thanked his mom and said “love you, mom”.  “Love you too, dear”, Ron’s mom said. 

Belley and Deisy were doing their assignment study. Belley said to Deisy “we are done for today”. “Yes”, replied Deisy. And added that did you seen the match today? Belley replied in the affirmative and told that Zen played great but just not enough to win the game. Deisy informed “Yeah, but it was not about him. It is about the others of his team. They really could not support Zen”. “Yes, you are right”, said Belley. “Well, you are attending to my birthday party tomorrow, right?” Belley asked Deisy. She also said to Deisy “Mr. Zen will come tomorrow and also; I have invited all of our friends as well. It will be fun. I shall be waiting for you”. “I shall try, I am getting late for home see you at school tomorrow” Deisy replied in rush. “Ok, see you then”, Belley said. 

“Ron, are you home?” Mack shouted. “Yes, coming, Mack. Wait a bit” Ron replied. He also bid his mom saying “see you, mom. Shall be back soon”. Both started cycling towards Jerry’s house. “While cycling, Ron asked to Mack that why are you late. We should have started earlier”. “Yeah, Ron. We should have started earlier. Actually, I was asleep after having my launch”.

Coming to the destination they stand their cycle at the garage and pressed the calling bell coming to the front door. Jerry’s mother Lusie, opened the door and we said “Hello aunty”. Then she came out and she surprisingly uttered “you are here...!!”
