Ryker's POV

I scratched at my hair as I walked into my dorm building, dragging myself up the stairs like each step personally offended me. It was already noon, the kind of late that made you feel useless before the day had even properly started. I had not bothered leaving the hotel after Leo stormed out. I needed time. Time to think, time to breathe, time to stop feeling like my chest had been opened and rearranged by a madman.

  • THE DEVIL'S BOY TOY   Falling all over again.

Ryker's POVI made my way back to my room with my whole chest aching for him.The campus path was nearly empty now, lit only by scattered lamps and the distant glow of dorm windows. My footsteps sounded louder than usual, almost as if the night itself wanted to remind me that I was walking alone. But I didn't feel alone.Leo's face was still with me.The tiredness in his eyes. The way he tried to act like he wasn't in pain. The stiffness in every movement. The way he had said so little while somehow telling me everything. How difficult must life be for him?How heavy must every single day feel?To wake up and already know your choices were not your own. To speak lies you did not create. To smile for cameras while bleeding behind closed doors. To be raised by a father who cared more a

  • THE DEVIL'S BOY TOY   Alone with you.

Leonardo's POVCatherine was fast asleep beside me, her breathing soft and even, one hand resting across the sheets where my body had been moments ago.I stared at the ceiling.Sleep would not come. The room felt too warm, every blink dragged me back to that house, to the crack of gunfire, to blood on polished floors, to my father's calm face while I screamed.Even here, miles away, he occupied every inch of space.I couldn't breathe in this room anymore.Carefully, I slipped out of bed and reached for the shirt draped over the chair. My leg protested the second I stood. Pain crawled upward through bone and muscle like fire ants.I looked at the cane leaning against the nightstand.Wood. Metal. Humiliation.A prop to keep me moving.A souvenir from my father."Fu

  • THE DEVIL'S BOY TOY   Wait for your sake

Ryker's POVStudents were still crowding the hallway near the school cafeteria, all of them buzzing like bees around sugar. Some sat on the floor with wrapped gifts in their laps. Some leaned against the walls pretending not to care while fixing their hair every time footsteps sounded nearby. Others whispered loudly about how they hoped he would smile at them, wave at them, maybe even say their names.I stood near the back, arms folded, trying to look like I wasn't there for the same reason.Hours passed. The hallway that had once been noisy enough to shake the walls slowly thinned out. People began checking their phones, sighing dramatically, complaining that their feet hurt or that they had tutorials early the next morning. Every time the elevator dinged or a door opened somewhere down the corridor, heads snapped up in unison.Every single time, disap

  • THE DEVIL'S BOY TOY   Avoid the suspicion

Leonardo's POVI pulled the apartment door open, and the first thing I saw was Catherine springing up from the couch like she'd been waiting there for hours."Oh my God."She rushed toward me before I could even step inside. Her arms wrapped tightly around my neck, nearly knocking the breath out of me, and for a second I just stood there, stiff and exhausted, while her perfume swallowed the air around us.“Leo?" she blurted against my shoulder. "Do you know how worried I was? No one would tell me anything. I called and called and nobody answered. What happened to you?"I carefully peeled her arms off me and stepped further into the apartment, using the cane to steady myself. The door shut behind me with a heavy slam that echoed through the room."I'm here now," I said simply. That did nothing to calm her.She followed me across the living room, questions spilling out of her mouth faster than I could dodge them."Why do you have a cane? Why are you limping? Why didn't anyone let me se

  • THE DEVIL'S BOY TOY   What it is and What it isn't.

Ryker’s POVI slurped the rest of my small portion of spaghetti and chased it down with a cup of water that had already gone warm. It was past three in the afternoon and I was only just having breakfast, if cold cafeteria pasta could be considered breakfast. We’d had a surprise test that morning, one of those evil little academic ambushes lecturers seemed to enjoy, so I skipped food and ran to class half awake and fully unprepared.I was also fairly certain I had done terribly.Nothing says academic failure like stuffing yourself with carbohydrates in public.I scraped the last forkful from the plate and leaned back in my chair, letting out a sigh. Around me, the cafeteria hummed with its usual midday chaos. Trays clattered. Chairs scraped. Students laughed. Someone at the next table was arguing about football statistics with so much intensity you'd think he was the teams coached or something.I was just about to stand and head back to my dorm when the doors burst open and a group o

  • THE DEVIL'S BOY TOY   Centre of all the attention

Leo’s POVThe SUV pulled into the school premises right in the middle of the student hangout area, exactly where my father had ordered they drop me off. Of course he had chosen the busiest possible spot. He wanted me to make an entrance. He wanted eyes on me. He wanted everyone to notice the limp, the walking stick, so his stupid media lie about me being involved in an accident would seem more believable.Even pain had to serve his image.Paulo sat beside me in the backseat, clipboard balanced on one knee, his expression calm, he adjusted his glasses and glanced down at my leg.“Young master, remember you are not to put too much strain on it,” he said in his accented voice. “Pressure, yes. Too much pressure, no. That is not good for healing.”I only nodded, what else was I going to say?My father had demanded that Paulo follow me to school at least until his session with me was over and another doctor had to step in, exactly like we did at home.If this was a regular situation I woul

  • THE DEVIL'S BOY TOY   Noise and Possession

Leonardo’s POVI didn’t think.I just moved. My hand wrapped around Catherine’s wrist, and before she could even question it, I pulled her toward the dance floor.“Leo?” she laughed l

  • THE DEVIL'S BOY TOY   Not the end!

Ryker’s POVMy world tilted.“My mom gave my room out for rent?”The man—Jerry, apparently—just shrugged like it wasn’t a big deal. Like he hadn’t just casually rearranged my entire life.“I pay for it,” he said, scratching his stomach. “So yeah. It’s mine for now.”I blinked at him.For a second,

  • THE DEVIL'S BOY TOY   Still With You

Leonardo’s POV“Yes, Father.”I kept my voice level low, even though my grip tightened slightly around the edge of the kitchen counter. On the other end of the line, his voice was sharp, controlled, and cutting through the speaker like a blade.“You allowed Catherine to wander around your universit
