I bit down on his hand, hard enough to draw blood.

Damien let out a sharp hiss and instinctively released me. I stumbled back, panting, heart pounding like a war drum in my chest. The sharp taste of blood lingered in my mouth, mixing with the bitter tang of fury.

"Selene, what's your problem?! Just come with me!" he barked, his voice rising with frustration.

I glared at him, fire dancing in my eyes. "Why? So you can sell me off like cattle to clear your filthy debts?" My voice cracked with a mixture of rage and betrayal.

Damien's face contorted in desperation. "You're the only hope I have, Selene. I thought you loved me... I thought you were willing to do anything for me."

I stared at him as if he were a stranger. My heart clenched, but it wasn’t love anymore. It was disgust. Pity. Regret.

"You're something else," I whispered, my voice thick with emotion. "Yes, I loved you. And now I regret eve

The hallway of Ronan’s company felt like walking through a corridor of royalty. The air itself held a kind of cold sophistication that clung to my skin like velvet laced with ice. Polished marble floors reflected the sparkling chandeliers above, casting prismatic light across the space like the walls themselves were made of diamonds. Everything screamed opulence—the kind of wealth that didn’t need to announce itself, but you felt it in your bones, like pressure in the air before a storm.Employees lined the hallway like obedient shadows.“Good morning, Boss. Good morning, Ma’am,” they echoed one after the other, their voices polite, measured, rehearsed.I forced a small nod in response at first, but after the fifth or sixth greeting, it felt like my neck was about to snap off. I quickly gave up, choosing to mimic Ronan’s cold indifference. He didn’t spare them a single glance—his jaw set, gaze locked forward, and posture screaming authority that needed no acknowledgment. But me? I fel

I quickly tore my gaze away from him, feeling the burn creep up my cheeks like wildfire chasing dry grass. And just then—his!—the betrayal arrived. A hiccup. Of all things. He chuckled. A low, teasing sound that rolled from his chest like smooth thunder. I didn’t dare look at him again. My pride was already tap dancing on broken glass.Without a word, he reached down beside him and picked up a bottle of water. I tried to ignore him, to pretend I didn’t notice the way his fingers curled around the plastic, the way his biceps flexed slightly as he brought it to his mouth—not to drink, no. He used his teeth to unscrew the cap. Effortlessly. Casually. Sinfully. Then he held it out to me, his gaze steady and unreadable. I could feel the warmth of his fingers even though he wasn’t touching me.“Here,” he said.“Th–thank you,” I mumbled, my voice too small, too strangled. I took the water from him, hoping it could wash away the hiccups—and the humiliation.“You should be careful, damsel.” Hi

  • THE DEVIL'S POSSESSION   Chapter Twenty Four: I Belong To You

Selene's POVI stepped out of my room, my heels clicking softly against the marble floor. My outfit was deliberate—black tailored trousers hugging my hips, a silky purple blouse that complimented my skin, and a pair of matching purple heels that gave me just enough height to meet Ronan’s brooding stare head-on. A small clutch hung from my shoulder, the same shade of violet, completing the ensemble like punctuation at the end of a statement: I will not be invisible today. But the sitting room was empty. Cold. Silent. Ronan was nowhere in sight. I expected his looming presence on the couch or maybe a casual lean by the staircase, glass of whisky in hand, delivering some snide remark. But… nothing."Ma’am," a soft voice called out.I turned. One of the maids approached, her hands folded neatly in front of her. "The boss asked me to inform you that he's waiting in the car."I gave her a curt smile. “Thank you,” I said. There was a strange weight to those two words as they left my mouth. T

  • THE DEVIL'S POSSESSION   Chapter Twenty Three: You Have Five Minutes

Selene’s POVI lay sprawled across the oversized bed like a bored cat trapped in a cage of luxury. My fingers idly tugged at the corner of the velvet duvet as I stared at the flat-screen TV mounted on the wall. A dull romantic comedy played—a genre I never cared for—but it was background noise for the war waging inside my head. The characters on screen laughed and kissed as if life were that simple. I scoffed quietly. My stomach churned with unease, but I ignored it.A knock echoed on the door.I didn’t answer. Didn’t even flinch. Whoever it was could wait. Let them stand there. Let the silence answer for me.But of course, that wasn’t the kind of house I was in. This place didn’t understand boundaries. The door creaked open, and in he came—Ronan.Just the sound of his footsteps crossing the marble floor made my body go rigid. I peeled my gaze off the TV and looked at him, my eyes narrowing instinctively like a lioness sizing up a predator. A sharp pang of annoyance pinched my chest.

Next Morning: Selene's POVThe soft patter of water against the tile faded as I stepped out of the bathroom, a thin fog of steam trailing behind me. My skin still prickled from the warm shower, but the chill of reality quickly replaced the comfort. I wrapped the robe tighter around myself, my bare feet whispering against the cold marble floor as I walked toward the dresser.Today, I wasn’t going to the dining table. There was no way I could sit across from him—Ronan—not after last night. Not after the kiss. The punishment. The humiliation. My stomach churned at the memory, not from hunger but from a cocktail of rage, confusion, and something far more dangerous—something unspoken.A knock sounded on the door, light but firm."Come in," I said quietly, already halfway dressed, my voice barely above a whisper. I hated how soft it came out, how uncertain. The door creaked open, revealing a young maid in uniform, her eyes cast down with the careful submission they all wore like a second sk

Ronan stepped closer, his boots echoing softly against the polished floor like a warning bell."Price," he said, his voice low, almost reverent, as if my name held a weight only he understood. His gaze pierced into me like a blade, dark and unreadable, yet brimming with a promise I didn’t want to decipher."I have a lot on my mind that I want to do to you," he murmured, his words sending a shiver crawling down my spine. "But trust me, damsel, you can't handle any of it."I scoffed, folding my arms defiantly, my eyes never leaving his. Does he think I’m weak? That I’d crumble under whatever twisted punishment he’s dreaming up? I muttered inwardly, the scoff louder in my mind than in the room.He only smiled, like he could read my thoughts. Like my rebellion was entertainment."I'm waiting for my puni—"My words were stolen mid-sentence. In one swift motion, Ronan's hand grabbed the back of my head, pulling me forward with an unrelenting force. His lips crashed into mine.I froze.Shock
