The Council's vault of Ridgewood trembled beneath the heated voice of the men.

Fists slammed against the enormous oak table; it groaned, but nobody listened. There was a clamor of chaos as arguments reverberated off the stone walls. With each voice attempting to overpower the others.

Someone repeatedly knocked on the table trying in vain to establish order.

The council was a mess.

Suddenly with a loud bang, the vault's doors flew open. As soon as Rufus walked in, everyone's heads turned. The folds of his flowing royal blue robe jiggled beneath his large stomach and his broad frame barely fit through the doorway.

The hostile glares directed at him caused him to remain unflinching. Instead, he turned slowly after softly clicking the door shut behind him.

Lance stood there, his eyes focused on her.As she raised the bowl and held it up to the bright round moon, he closely observed. Moment by moment, time went by with no action. Her hands trembled slightly as she opened her eyes, watching hopefully that it would work. The powerful light from the moon streamed into the cottage through the window.Yet nothing happened. Not even a whiff of smoke was visible. Maybe she would have to hold it for a little longer. With his hands clasped behind his back, he observed carefully and after a few minutes, he broke the silence.“You can now bring it down,” he instructed.Selene's heart shattered in disappointment. She brought down the bowl, feeling a dull pain in her shoulder. She spoke in a gentle yet disappointed tone. “It didn't work?” she asked in a sad tone.Slowly, Lance shook his head.“No, but there is still an opportunity to try again,” he responded. She wasn't even listening to him as her heart skipped for a moment. Her throat suddenly wen

Selene felt a little more secure once she was inside the ancient cottage. She carefully folded her dark cloak after removing it and set it over a wooden chair by the door. Despite being a simple act it felt like she was letting go of all her worries. Her gaze then landed on the open window. The large, brilliant moon shone through it, a silvery, silent light in the night sky. The moonlight drew her closer to the window. She experienced a strange and wonderful sensation as she gazed up at it. Her strength increased as if a powerful warm wave were over her. She felt a great pull towards the moon, as if it were calling her.Selene stood still with her arms spread apart and her eyes shut as she basked under the powerful beam of the moon.Lance was busy in the center of the room. He was bent forward over a solid wooden table. He used this table for work and it was covered in various fascinating objects. There were numerous tiny transparent vials filled with various vibrant concoctions

As he watched the young boy leave, Ethan froze for a second. Despite his small size, the large wooden crate he was carrying appeared to be quite heavy. As he made his way through the crowd, the boy wobbled and his slender shoulders dropped slightly under their weight. Even though the boy had bumped into him Ethan felt a little sorry for him. He observed until the tiny figure vanished into the crowded marketplace. He exhaled deeply causing a long breath to exhale from his chest. He was worn out as if he had been running for ages. At last, he decided. He made the decision to head back to the Pack House. Wherever Ravena was he hoped she was safe. But why was she trying to hide from being seen? It didn’t make sense. That was the big question that kept coming to him circling in his mind like a tiny whirlwind. She wanted it to be a secret but why would she flee from him?Regretfully. He was unable to respond to this question. In his mind, it continued to burn like a tiny inferno that w

He bared his teeth in rage and balled his hands into a tight fist. His search for Ravena was fruitless. What if something had already happened to her?No. She is strong enough to fight for herself. She survived Nightfang after all.It was clear how furious he was. She had managed to elude him like a fish in a slick stream but he had come so close. He whirled around once more. His eyes darted from market stall to stall scrutinizing each one with extreme care. Perhaps she was hiding inside one of them. He peered around large wooden boxes behind vibrant textiles and past stacks of gleaming goods. He kept looking but he was unable to spot her. She left. It seemed like a magic trick of the magic. She had abruptly disappeared just as he was about to learn the big secret. She seemed to have vanished over the void. Then there was a loud BANG! Something struck him hard from behind. The tap wasn't gentle. It was a powerful slam as if someone had given him a forceful shove. With shock, Etha

Her dark cloak shifted around her like a dark cloud. Like a small bird rushing home, she moved quickly with each step. She really truly didn't want to be late. She could not even consider the possibility of being late for this. The significance of it was too great. Her heart pounded rapidly and frantically within her chest. She soon came to a quiet little path. Compared to the main road, this path was less crowded. It led directly to the large marketplace. However, she had no intention of entering the market just yet. To reach the small cottage she simply needed to stroll past it. Her real destination was the cottage. A soft gentle breeze accompanied the arrival of night. It was cool against her cheek like a feather. She drew her cloak closer to her body. The cloak made her feel warm and protected because it was a little cold. She could still feel something small and hard in her pocket despite the thick fabric of her cloak. A round smooth ring was gently pressed against her skin ins

There was no time left. With a dismissive wave of her hand, she spoke hurriedly. “You may go. Just prepare anything for dinner.”She was preoccupied with other far more important things and didn't care what she ate. Quickly, the maid turned around and rushed to the door to leave.“Wait!”The maid halted in her strides. With wide eyes and a quick turn, she prepared to listen. “Yes, Luna Ravena,” she responded in a quiet submissive tone. Then before she could stop herself, Selene blurted out the words. “Does Ravena have another room?”Immediately, she realized her mistake. Shit! With her eyes wide with surprise, almost shocked, the maid gazed at her. “ What!” the maid exclaimed as she was obviously perplexed by the odd question. In an attempt to conceal her uneasiness, Selene spun around rapidly. And covered her face. She had forgotten herself and slipped out of line.Damn it!Now the maid would undoubtedly be aware that something was amiss. Struggling to be brave Selene inhaled d
