Chapter Seven.

Since she’d agreed to the “rules” of their marriage, Ethan only came to her room on the seventh.

Aurora learned to live with the arrangement and eagerly looked forward to the seventh of every month.

She soon got weary of it though.

Ethan treated the activity like it was one of the activities to be ticked off his schedule. He was the first man that she’d ever been with, but even she knew the art of lovemaking should not be this mechanical…this formal.

Any attempt she made to spice up their sex life was looked upon with disdain by Ethan.

Her sexy lingerie disgusted him, and an attempt to stimulate foreplay irritated him.

“Let’s just get on with it.” He would say through gritted teeth, “I’m already giving you what you wanted, Aurora. A marriage with the heir of the Langford Capital Group!” He scoffed arrogantly, “And yet, you want more?! Why are you so freaking greedy! Isn’t this enough, goddamn it?!”

Aurora soon stopped trying, as she quickly learned to live with their stoic sex life, believing that she should be happy with what she was getting.

Thinking back on everything now, Aurora could not help but scoff in disbelief.

Disbelief and disgust at her foolish self.

Why on earth would she have to beg to be intimate with her husband?

And she’d waited for every moment of it, like it was the very air she breathed.

Well, not anymore.

She was getting divorced from him, and she would not be engaging with this farce anymore. As far as she was concerned, she was dead to Ethan’s touches and charm now.

And even if she was, she would not be making love to him while he smelled like Celeste!

She glared up at him, her light colored eyes hard like granite, “Get off me! I’m not in the mood for this. No!” She scoffed slightly, then snarled, “I don’t want this!”

Ethan’s eyes narrowed with fury as he stared at Aurora underneath him.

She was…different.

Physically, she looked pretty much the same, but there was something…different now.

He noticed that her soft, pliant body which was usually alit with desire at this point, was lying rigid and cold beneath him. Even when his rock hard bulge was pressing against her stomach.

He swallowed hard.

This had never happened before.

Although, he treated their love making sessions like one of his board meetings; just out of duty, he had always been fascinated by Aurora’s soft body, and how her innocence and eager desire made him feel.

It was nothing like he’d ever felt with Celeste or any other woman.

It was all Aurora, and soon he found himself looking forward to the seventh of every month. He could easily add another date during the month for love making, but what would that say about him and his love for Celeste?

He was only doing this out of duty, out of respect for his grandfather’s wishes. God forbid, he’d be drawn to this woman and her body.

But now, she was refusing him?

Ethan stared deep into her eyes…

Those eyes which had always looked at him softly, now had fire and was that…disgust in its depth?

Disgust at what? At him?

Ethan’s jaw clenched with fury.

How dare she be disgusted at him?

He was doing her a favour, giving her her greatest wish while he suffered being away from his lover, and she dared to have an attitude and throw tantrums?

He took a deep breath, tightening his hold on Aurora’s hands as he pinned her back to the bed.

“Quit the games, Aurora. You know you want this.” He gritted, “Better take the opportunity while I’m being nice!”

He pushed his rock hard bulge against her all the more, and Aurora’s eyes widened with panic.

Summoning all her strength, she pushed him off of her.

Ethan tumbled off her and onto the bed, surprised at Aurora’s aggression. He got up the next second, throwing his jacket to the ground.

“What the fuck is your problem, Aurora?!” He yelled, his eyes wide with rage, “Are you fucking kidding me?! I’m already this sick with your games and your face, and you dare to put up such an attitude?!”

Aurora made sure she was out of reach, close to the door, incase she needed to bolt out.

Ethan had never been violent or hit her before.

Infact, he’d always stayed away from her, sometimes missing their monthly compulation without any reason and being very arrogant with it.

He treated the entire act like it was a favour to her and she should be grateful for whatever scraps she would get out of it, while he himself was not bothered about the whole thing.

So, why was he acting so different now that she refused him?

She gave him a hard look, scoffing under her breath.

“Ethan Langford, you probably thought I’d continue to be all submissive concerning this forever,” she thought in disdain, “That’s too bad. All I feel for you now, is disgust. You will not disrespect me ever again.”

She took a deep breath, and wrapped her arms around herself to remain composed.

Ethan wanted to know why she was refusing him his robotic sex, and she could very well not tell him that she was divorcing him.

At least not now.

She hadn’t heard back from her Senior Caspian, and she needed to give Ethan his last two doses of Aurex-9 before she left. If not for anything but out of respect for the old patriarch, the Chairman Langford, who had arranged her marriage with Ethan.

Once that was done, nothing on this earth would tie her to the Langford family.

Nothing. Not even Riley.

She gave Ethan a square look, “I’m on my period,” she answered calmly, “I’m really not in the mood for this, so just get out, please.”

“Your period?” Ethan repeated, laughing but there was no mirth in his eyes, “Don’t mess with me, Aurora. Your period ended ages ago, on the 28th!”

Shit, he does know her cycle.

And why he keeps track of it, she would never know.

Probably because he didn’t want her to ‘tie’ him down with another kid again.

She clamped down hard on her anger and glared at him only, “It came late this time. And I’m tired of explaining myself to you. Leave.”

Ethan’s face reddened and he was about to say something more, when his cell phone rang. He fished it out of his jacket on the floor, and glanced at the caller ID flashing on the screen.

It was Celeste.

“Ethan, I’m so scared right now! The power went out here, and I can’t see a thing. I can’t even reach my glasses and I don’t know what to do!”

Aurora watched him, a tiny little smile of disgust on his face as he immediately brushed past her to the door.

“Don’t worry, Celeste, I’m on my way.”

The door clicked shut behind her, and Celeste could finally breathe in relief.

Good God, if Ethan had actually touched her tonight, she would have thrown up in his face.

She walked to her bed, just as her cellphone pinged. Thinking it was her Senior Caspian with good news for her, she immediately glanced at it, and her hands stilled.

Celeste: It’s the seventh, Aurora. Yet I am still able to call Ethan out. Guess he’s all mine tonight…oh, and forever as well.”

Aurora smiled calmly, “You can keep the trash, Celeste.” She muttered to herself, “I’m sick of the stench!”
