CHAPTER 90

By the time Rolph stepped into Jan's office, he found Jan standing by a window with a freshly lit cigar in his mouth.

Rolph humbly walked over to Jan's desk and stood there with his head bowed, waiting for further instructions.

"Sit down." Jan muttered.

In fact, if Rolph's five senses, except for his down-turned eyes, weren't focused on Jan, he probably wouldn't have heard the order. It was as if Jan wasn't talking to him. This made him wonder if there were more troubling things to come. Whatever it was that had Jan so distracted could only be resolved by Jan. Even his own present issues were out of his hands.

Rolph took one of the seats and waited.

He didn't have to wait for long because Jan puffed a fog of smoke then returned to his seat where he opened his laptop and turned it to face Rolph.

On the screen was an open letter from the leader of Robert's family.

"They have contacted you?!" Rolph gasped.

"Read it." Jan replied.

Rolph heaved and started reading.
