Valerie pov 

    When we came downstairs ,my mother was already waiting for us , 

 " What took you so long "

  " Sorry mom I had to take a shower "

  " I Wouldn't accept lateness "

  " We are sorry mum "

  " Enough !! let's go I don't want us to be late "

  " Okay mom "

   She picked up her bag and We quickly followed her to avoid more problems . Bethel was busy adjusting her dress ,why I just kept stirring at her .

  " Bethel can you please stop acting like a slot "

  " Stop talking nonsense Valerie am only trying to look good for my self "

  " You mean and For the king "

  " Whatever"

    We arrived at the palace , it was a beautiful sight to behold ,Indeed this is The real definition of wealth , Bethel mouth was opened wide , At first I was short off words but I decided to come back to My senses .

   " Bethel could you please close your mouth "

  " Stop talking nonsense , Valerie are you seeing what am seeing "

  " Yes I am it's a beautiful place ,But it's meant for the rich not like people like us "

  " Who said so ,I want to have this kind of life ,infact I want everything for my self the house ,the wealth ,the riches ,the power ,I want everything gor Myself Valerie and I would be damned if I don't have all of it "

  " Stop acting like a desperate woman ,mother never trained us to be like that ,you have to behave well remember why we are here so please don't do anything that will cause mother her job "

  " Just shut up your talk way too much ,it's not a crime to want the finest things of life girl ,I love good things and want to have it so what am not asking for too much " 

  " Stop Bethel Just stop "

  We Were still in the middle of an arguments when mother called out attention .

  " Valerie , Bethel when you guys are done arguing you come down from the carriage "

  Without wasting another seconds we quickly jumped down , The gate of the  castle was opened and we walked in , Bethel was almost melting inside with excitement .

  " Oh My God Valerie I can't wait to see The king oh my God tell me how do I look "

  " You look Good "

  " Just Good No Valerie I want to look beautiful , stunning , I want to look ..Please tell me what's the right word to use please "

  " You look ...."

  I was about to tell her the bitter truth when my mother stopped me .

  " What the hell are you girl talking about , Valerie ,bethel get your ass over her "

    we finally realised that we have been standing in a spot for too long .

  " Sorry mother "

  We both said it at the same time 

  " Listen to me girls ,We are here for a job so let's do it and leave mind you we are going to be coming here for a week so please children be of good behavior I don't want you girls messing around ,his majesty wouldn't be happy about it seeing commoners like us messing around the palace "

  We quickly nodded our heads in response .

  " Especially you Bethel I know why you dressed seductively today because you are trying to get the king's attention but you have to know something ,his not our class , and secondly his getting married soon that's why we are here "

   I almost burst into laughter ,but I decided to hold Myself back .

  " Mother you can't say that to me , And besides I don't mind being the second wife of the king "

  " Shut your mouth bethel ,you can't Marry the king just get that into your head and stop thinking too highly of your self "

   This time I couldn't hold back the laughter , Anymore ,I started laughing none stop .

  " Why are you laughing "

  " Nothing mom that was the exact  words I told her mother but she wouldn't listen Thank God you Just said the same thing to her"

  " Okay that's enough ,I believe we all understand each other now so it's time to get back to work "

  We were about to move further when a lady In her late sixties with three guards standing behind her stopped us .

  " Good Morning Mrs Theresa"

  " Good Morning ,I believe you are here to resume your work duty "

  " Yes infact we came on time , I was just about to report to my duty post "

  My mother was reporting about her job prescription to her but lady theresa had her eyes on us .

  " Who are those "

 

   She pointed towards our direction 

  " Sorry I don't introduce them to you earlier ,meet my elders daughter , Bethel and my youngest daughter Valerie "

  " Hmm I see so you bought them here to work "

  " Yes for the function "

  " Good "

  She snapped her fingers in the air and Two maids ran up to her 

  " Take them to the maids chamber and make them change their outfit ,"

  " Yes lady Theresa "

  They walked up to us and we had no option but to go with them Bethel was so pissed off by lady theresa  I could tell she whispered into my ears .

  " Who the fuck is this woman ,she just spoiled my day , Trust me I will make sure she loses her job once I become the queen "

  " Stop talking too much Bethel and Just follow simple instructions "

  We got to the maids chamber and changed our outfit , Finally we where directed to our place of work I was told to clean the hallway why Bethel was assigned to help out in the kitchen .

  I Quickly started doing my job because I had an appointment with Eric later today ,When I got to the middle of the hallway I noticed  a beautiful flower vase I was mesmerized by its beautiful so I decided to touch it .just then I heard a deep ,calm , and elegant voice from behind  .

  " Be careful with those I bet you don't want to loss your head for touching it "

   I Quickly turned towards the direction where the voice was coming from ,I was shock to see a man standing there staring at me ,it was as if he was staring at his prey .

  " Am sorry ,I just love the design "

  " Really that's nice " 

  " I turned to leave but I surprised to see him standing in front of me .

  " Holy shit you scared the life out of me what ..the..hell"

  " Tell me you like the vase "

  " Yes I do but please don't tell the king I touched it "

  I could see a little hit of surprised in his eyes but he didn't say anything ,I raised my head up to take a closer look at his face,I was mesmerized by his beautiful ,how can a man be this handsome what caught my attention was his eyes ,it was blue like an ocean but something in them was screaming  " Run for your life   "
