LYSARA

" Let go of the girl, Kaeren,” Professor Holden says, stepping out from behind one of the trees, hands nestled in his pants pockets. Kaeren straightens up immediately and lets out a frustrated sigh.

" But professor she's…”

" You are not sure of that. Let. Her. Go.” The professor demands. I do not really think Kaeren is going to obey, given the fuck you attitude he gives everyone, but he sighs and steps away from her.

The professor turns his attention to me, his gaze feeling like wax on my skin. " I apologize for my boys’ behavior, especially Kaeren's. You are free to take your leave now.”

" But she's our mate isn't she?” Kirrian asks. " Why did you refuse Kaeren not to bite her?”I hear Kirrian ask as I begin to walk away. When I don't hear the professor reply, I turn around to find them walking away in a single file.

I pass by the cafeteria on my way to my dorm and get my favorite chocolate milk latte and a bag of chips to help me think, before heading on to my dorm.

As I lay on my bed munching away the cheese, my mind becomes a whirlwind of questions.

Why is my wolf so dangerous and untamed? Why isn't it like other wolves that just come normally? Also why did the professors seem so invested in learning more about my wolf?

But amongst all these one thing sticks with me more than the others. The fact that I just saw the three most feared alphas in our school drink blood from someone. Not three of them, but if Kaeren does it then his brothers must too.

Werewolves don't drink blood, or do they?

I take a sip of my latte and lie down on my bed, feeling tired from the day's events.

“Lysa, you're the center of discussion everywhere!” Coral bursts into my room, her excitement bleeding into me. " The way you threw Jessica across the room? Top heroic move! Bet she'll be scared to even look you in the eye now."

I roll over facing the wall, wishing she'll just leave me to some peace and quiet. “Probably just made her angrier. She's definitely going to throw the biggest tantrum of the millennium."

" Don't you see?” Coral says sitting on my bed. " You won't be bullied or mocked for being wolfless any longer. Hell you might even find your mate."

I suppress a snort. If only she knew I already found my mates and they're a bunch of blood sucking wolves.Kaeren of all people had to be one of them!

While Coral babbles on and on about how much of a celebrity I've become in less than five hours, I rack my brain trying to find any information I can get on wolves that actually drink blood. Nana was a knowledgeable woman and always had something about wolf history to tell.

But for the life of me, I can't remember any such thing. Guess a journey to the library tomorrow is what I'll do.

" Do you think Alpha Victor would be glad if he found out?” She asks me. I shake my head and force myself to sit up. Coral won't leave until I give her the attention she wants. " Why not?”

I shrug. " I don't know, Coral and I honestly do not care. All I did was save Emory from getting killed by Jessica. I'm not the least interested in becoming a topic of discussion.”

Another big reason why I didn't mention or give anyone the idea that I'm not wolfless. I hate being the center of anyone's attention.

" Can we forget what happened today and talk about something else?”. I plead.

" Sure thing!" She says and instantly diverts the topic to next week's bonfire!

~~~
I wake up abruptly, breathing heavily. I turn on my lights and look around my room, but I can't see anyone there. It's almost like I imagined it.
But I didn't!
" Lysara,” it comes again, faint and pleading. It's coming from everywhere, yet nowhere in particular. The voice is soft and lulling, like that of a mother trying to put her baby to sleep.
" Lysara.” It comes again, this time calm and convincing. It's like the wind, playing music with the leaves.
As if under some kind of spell, I shift to the edge of the bed, place my feet into my slippers and walk out of my bedroom. I exit the dorm and start walking towards the pull.
The voice has stopped calling, but the invisible pull is so strong that I can't resist no matter how hard I try to.
I keep on walking in the dark, with only the moon to guide my steps,as I follow my instincts towards the woods behind the gym.
“Are you lost, My Lysa?" Professor Holden's voice brings me to a stop. The presence guiding me instantly disappears and I'm left with an empty sinking feeling.
I turn around and face the professor. " You shouldn't be out here this late, professor.”
" Neither should you, Lysa. But I'm sure you know that if you are advising me on the topic. Do you tend to sleepwalk?"
I almost hug him at the excuse he's giving me. I had no idea how on earth I was going to start explaining what just happened, when even I don't know for a fact what exactly happened.
So I nod and bow my head apologetically. “Yes, professor. I do sleepwalk. I'm sorry if I disturbed you. I'll be on my way now."
He doesn't stop me as I hurry past him.
As I make my way back to my dorm room, I'm certain of two things. Professor Holden thinks I'm hiding something, and whatever called me out tonight, will definitely call again..
    KAREAL “What do you mean I can't bite her?" Kearen asks glaring at Holden with defiance. “She's our mate, isn't she?" Holden completely ignores him. He's standing by one of the two bookshelves in his home office, searching for something, probably one of the books he spends his days reading. Kaeren is not pleased by Holden's attitude. I can't tell from the way he curls his lip and paces about the room. " You felt it too, didn't you professor?” Kirrian asks, nonchalantly biting into an apple. " If she's not our mate then who could she be? And if she is then why can't we bite her?” “She might necessarily not be your mate,” Holden replies, returning to his seat with a book in his hand. He sets the book aside and awards us his full attention. " How old are you three?” " Twenty four,” Kirrian replies. “And how long have you had your wolves?" “Since we were ten?" “Good!" Holden says, leaning into his seat. “Your wolf has been starved of its mate for fourteen years. The magic Lysara
  • THE LAST CELESTIAL WOLF    CHAPTER FOUR: THEY'RE MY MATES?
    LYSARA Every eye in the room is on me and suddenly I'm the center of attention. Everyone is staring at me now with shock filled eyes, including the professor. The whispers begin slowly, then multiply till I can hear them clearly. " Oh My God! Was that Lysa just now?” " Never thought for once she's this powerful. Why does she keep sucking up to Jessica then." “And that aura surrounding her? I’ve never experienced anything like it. It's surreal." Jessica has shifted back to her human form and is fuming at me. Her eyes are practically red and she's breathing hard. " What. Did. You. Just. Do?” I don't answer. I weigh my options to see which will favor me in this situation. I could lie and tell her and everyone here that it was really nothing and they just imagined it. But there's no way over fifty people would imagine me leaving my seat to the ring in less than two seconds. “What did you just do, Lysa?" Jessica yells. “I thought you were wolfless. How come you have such speed and
  • THE LAST CELESTIAL WOLF    CHAPTER THREE: AN ACCIDENT AT COMBAT LESSONS
    LYSARA At his brother's command, Kaeren lets go of me and I claw at my throat, desperate for a breath of fresh air. " Oh My God, Lysa!” Coral, my best and only friend, comes running and stoops to the ground beside me. She helps me to my feet, gently rubbing my back in the process. “Come on, let's get you out of here!" She takes hold of my hand and pulls me away from the crowd. Kaeren still looks like he wants to kill me, but he can't do anything now that his brother has interfered. When I get to where Kareal is standing, he puts a hand on my shoulder to stop me. " You should learn to pick your battles carefully, little one.” I move past him without a response. No matter how Kaeren gets pissed off, he isn't going to kill me. I'm still an Alpha's adopted daughter.Coral takes me to my dorm and sits me down on my bed, before searching in the cabinets for first aid. “You can't keep letting them treat you like this," she murmurs, getting on her knees before me so she can apply ointm
  • THE LAST CELESTIAL WOLF    CHAPTER TWO: RESTRAINING MY WOLF
    LYSARA My heart drops to my stomach. Oh no! If Arcadia is my nightmare, Kaeren is the primary villain in it. I instantly take a step back, not daring to look up to see the amount of damage I've done, though I doubt it's that much of a damage. Kaeren has always been much of a drama queen. I don't need to look at him to know he's probably fuming his ears out, the whispers of onlooking students do the job just fine. *Is she that blind to spill coffee on Kaeren?* *She must have a death wish.* *She's so dead!* I summon enough courage to look up at Kaeren and he's furious. His eyes are literally shooting daggers at me and if it had any effect on me, I'll probably be melting in fear right now. Rather, I do what I know how to do best. Apologize. "My apologies, Kaeren. I wasn't watching where I was going…" Before I can even finish my sentence, a laughter rings across the courtyard, loud and mocking. “Now this has to be the funniest thing I've seen all semester,” Kirrian sa
  • THE LAST CELESTIAL WOLF    CHAPTER ONE: WOLFLESS AT AN ALPHA ACADEMY
    LYSARA “I was wondering why the air suddenly smells like trash!" Helen's voice hits me before I even fully make it out of the car. The driver opens the boot and I collect my luggage before he drives off. Jessica is already with her little fan club, smiling as they fawn over her like she's the reincarnation of the moon goddess. I let out a heavy sigh as I adjust the strap of my backpack and drag my suitcase behind me, grudgingly making my way to my dorm room. I normally wouldn't pack too much clothes just to accompany Jessica home for a sick leave, but I was hoping to convince the alpha to send me to the pack school instead. Guess whose wishes went unanswered? That's right, me. "Jessica, didn't you say your father was going to send the freak to the community school in your pack? Why does the air still reek of…the slumps" Helen, Jessica’s best friend and president of Club Jessica wrinkles her nose like the air actually stinksJessica gives her award winning smile. “Well, father ha
