CHAPTER 5; HUMILIATION

What I came to see the moment I entered the church made me tremble in horror. There, playing at the screen beside the altar was me and Rhyan doing that thing. I stayed rooted at the ground where I'm standing, unable to move an inch and utter a single word.

"Aubrey... How could you do this to me?... I love you so much how could you cheat on me?" Tyler said crying pitifully. He's standing near the altar waiting for his bride looking so heartbroken.

I don't know what's going on anymore, the church's designed like there is going to be a wedding and there are also a lot of people, but why is Tyler the one near the altar? Who is he waiting for? It's not the time for our wedding yet and we've decided to get married next year, what is going on?

"W-What?" I said in disbelief.

I looked around and realized that there are more people than I thought. Some of our teachers are even there and there are a lot of other people who are not so familiar to me.

All of them are looking at me like I'm a horrible woman who sleeps around. I saw Shane from one of those people and she smirked at me. Tyler walked towards me crying, then he held my hands.

"Aubrey... The video's not real right? You didn't cheat on me right?... Please tell me.." Tyler's crying so much that even I would believe him if I'm one of the crowd watching.

"Tell me, Aubrey... You didn't sleep with Rhyan right?" He said and I couldn't take anymore. I raised my hand and slapped him.

"How could you do this to me Tyler?... Is this why you forced me to come here so you could humiliate me?" I said crying and then I felt a palm landed on my cheek which made me stumble back.

"How dare you slap him? You're the one who cheated, what right do you have to act like this you slut?" Fiona said, she's one of my friends who secretly likes Tyler.

"Don't waste your time with this kind of woman Tyler... You deserve someone better." Fiona said holding Tyler's hand.

"We're so disappointed in you Aubrey... We didn't know you're this kind of woman!" Clara said also one of my friends.

"How could you believe in the video without knowing the truth?" I said.

"The video says it all Aubrey... Stop acting innocent! You're just a bitch!" Shane said. My best friend betrayed me.

"You believe too? You know better than anyone!.. Well, I guess even if you do know you'd still side with Tyler since you're his mistress!" I said and everyone in the church murmured and Tyler started to look uneasy.

"Aubrey... Why are you lying? Everyone here knows how much I love you..." Tyler said looking even more heartbroken.

"Stop it you bitch! How dare you accuse him of cheating?" Fiona said angrily.

"Why don't you ask Shane then?" I said and Shane looked away.

"Shane... Come on tell them it's not true..." Tyler said gently but Shane didn't answer.

'Oh my god... Why isn't she answering? Maybe it's true?' Said the people in the crowd.

" Aubrey, please... Just tell me the truth and I will forget everything." Tyler said changing the topic.

" Tyler are you out of your mind? How could you forget everything she did to you? How could you forget the pain she's caused you?" Fiona said persuading Tyler to cut things off with me.

"But I love her so much I can't live without her..." he said clutching his chest emotionally gaining everyone's sympathy.

"ENOUGH TYLER!" I shouted at how ridiculous his words are. Everyone was shocked and they all glared at me.

" Aubrey, don't you feel sorry at all? How could you do this to him? I'm so disappointed in you, you act and look like a nice and innocent person but you're rotten inside." Our teacher said and I saw Tyler smirk at me.

Everyone's pointing their fingers at me, they don't know what happened and they've already made their judgment one-sidedly. I know no matter how much I try to explain they wouldn't believe me. I know no one will help me in telling them what exactly happened and that I'm the victim here. I'm tired... I didn't do anything but love, so why must I suffer all this humiliation?

"I'm so tired..." I said in a low voice and everyone stopped talking.

"The person I love the most cheated on me with my best friend... And the people whom I thought are my friends are just fake. I was raped and all of you pointed your fingers at me! You don't know how painful it is to know that the person you loved for three years, has never actually loved you all those times you were together!" I said crying emotionally.

" Stop making things Aubrey!" Fiona said.

"Shut up Fiona! I know you like Tyler and tried to seduce him multiple times even knowing I'm around! Now I doubt you haven't slept together!" I said, her eyes went wide and she looked so nervous unable to utter a word.

"HAHAHAHA...SEE? YOU ALL ARE A TRAITOR AND YOU'RE ACTING LIKE A BETTER PERSON!! I'M THE VICTIM HERE!" I shouted and everyone started to doubt what happened.

"Stop making things up Aubrey! Just confess already, stop dragging other people in the picture!"

"I SAID SHUT UP!" I shouted again and Fiona flinched.

"Have you ever wondered why the video is muted? And why does it only focuses on my figure and not showing my expression? You've never wondered, right? Because you're all so dead set on making me the bad person!"

"ENOUGH OF YOUR LIES AUBREY!" Fiona yelled.

"Will you stop and just listen Fiona?... I have something more important to tell Tyler." I said and she finally shut her mouth.

"Aubrey... I know you're only saying those words to lessen the guilt you feel towards me. But Aubrey you don't have to feel that way, I will try my best to understand and change what I am so I could satisfy you, I know it's because I'm lacking so please..." Tyler said gently and I understand what he's trying to do, he wants to look like a humble person who loves me very much who'd do everything for me so I'd stick around.

"Aren't you tired of acting? Can't you just be honest like last night, like this morning? You're acting so different that I want to puke." I said and Fiona tried to meddle again but I glared at her.

" Aubrey, how could you say that?" Tyler said crying even more like he's in so much pain from my words.

"You really won't stop acting?" I said staring at him sadly.

"Fine... You won! " I said as I took a step backward away from him.

"But Tyler... Your plan's screwed."

"What are you talking about?" Tyler replied his expression getting serious.

"You wasted three years of revenge for nothing..." I smiled at him sadly. The crowd is shocked after hearing the word revenge but they didn't say anything. Tyler was shocked by my words, he grabbed my hands and we left the crowd where we could talk privately.

" How dare you utter that word in front of everyone just because I'm letting you say whatever you want!!!" Tyler said cupping my cheeks tightly. I pushed him away and he stumbled.

"Have you ever loved me even just for a second?" I asked him pathetically.

"FUCK! WHY ARE YOU EVEN ASKING THAT WHEN YOU ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER?" Tyler shouted at my face.

"I'm sorry for whatever my father did to you... " I said sincerely.

"Can your apology give me back my mother? HUH?!! " He said gripping my shoulders tightly.

"I'm sorry... But you took your revenge from the wrong person." I said.

" Wrong person? Every person who shares that bastard's blood is the right person!" He said angrily but there's a glint of uneasiness in his eyes. I raised my hand to touch his face gently and I smiled at him

" Yes, you're wrong... Because I'm adopted. The James couple isn't my real parents" I said sadly lowering my gaze.

"Do you think I'd believe you?" He said letting go of my shoulders.

"No! You don't have to... It's up to you to decide."

"You really didn't love me, you don't even know that simple thing," I said my eyes still not meeting his.

"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry for wasting your three years. But thank you... For staying by my side all those times, I was genuinely happy the three years we were together. Thank you for everything... I'm hurt but I never regretted ever loving you, I still love you and I love you so much I can't bring myself to hate you, but I don't think I will be able to forgive you." I said meeting his eyes with my tears rolling down my cheeks, he just remained silent and unmoving.

I raised my hands to hold his face, I tiptoed and kissed him. He didn't move an inch and just let me be.

"Tyler...Let me go. And let's not see each other ever again." I said smiling while crying at the same time and a tear rolled down his cheek.
