Just like the old tale says, the moon goddess blesses the luna bride on the first full moon of the year. And yet, here I am dying in vain because someone frames me up for an act that I have not done.
While falling into the cliff, I am still clinging to that small ray of hope that someone will rescue me. In the end, I only see a light. It is so bright that it blinds me.
And before I know it, I find myself waking up once more in a human form. I am even more surprised to discover that I am inside an unfamiliar room.
Instantly, I begin to rummage my entire body but I see no single wound.
What happened just now?
I remember falling into the cliff after being pushed down by that traitor. However, as I try to visualize that person’s face, somehow, I just fail to remember anything about it. All that I can recall is the foggy clouds obscuring the face of that person.
“Good morning, Miss Silverstone. I was about to open the curtains for you.”
Suddenly, I turn out to be surprised by an abrupt entrance of a maid I haven’t seen before.
“Who are you?” I ask since I really don’t know who she is.
The maid just looks at me bearing a complete expression of shock, right before her hand even touches the hem of the curtain. Out of the blue, she ran towards the foot of my bedding while bursting out in tears.
She is even wailing right in front of me while saying, “My goodness, Miss. I feel sorry that you had to go through this after the accident.”
Accident? Does she know anything that happened after I fell off the cliff?
I am actually supposed to ask her about it, but she immediately discloses information that I find intriguing and, at the same time, surprising as well.
“Miss, I know that going through such a car accident must have been so traumatizing to you that you even had lost some of your memories.” she said.
Car accident? I didn’t even have a car accident, I fell into the cliff and died? Just what in the world is going on here?
After that, the maid continues to chatter, “And also, Miss, my name is Taylor and I am your personal maid. I have been with you ever since you were 10. Tell me, miss, If there are things you can’t remember just ask me to fill it in for you.”
And since I am completely unaware of what is going around me. I instantly take advantage of the fact that she believes I lost my memories. And so I begin asking random things about me.
“Who am I?’
“You’re Miss Claudette Silverstone. You are the last surviving Silverstone after your late father died in that accident. Your mother died of an ailment when you were ten.”
So I am now taking on a new identity? I immediately looked around the glass wall room of any mirrors and saw the vanity mirror adjacent to my bed. I jolted out from the bed to look at my face in the mirror and I became so shocked to see a different person.
This is not my body. This Claudette has rustic wavy hair and jade eyes. She has paler skin compared to mine and I must say that she is truly a beauty compared to me.
Taylor suddenly approaches me, saying, “Is there something wrong, miss?”
“Where are we, Taylor? Where am I?”
“Miss, you’re here in your parent’s house in Anacortes.”
So I am still in Anacortes. And yet, I haven’t heard of any family name that bears the name Silverstone in my whole existence.
All of these mysteries are beginning to give me a headache.
And as Taylor seemed to be seeing me getting all worked up she immediately said, “I believe you still need to get some rest, miss. It isn’t good for you to stress yourself. You’re still recovering from the accident.”
“I’m fine, Taylor. But actually, I would appreciate it if I could at least get a breather from the outside.” I immediately suggested.
Taylor seems reluctant with my request that I even have to go through the process of giving her a pleading look just so she gives in. And after some time, I prevail from persuading Taylor in the end.
However, I end up being disappointed to find out that she will just bring me to the backyard of the house. There is a small garden in this house’s backyard and a yard table and chairs for anyone to use.
Taylor brought me some pastries and hot cup of tea to drink while I’m here.
“Is there something wrong, miss?” Taylor suddenly asked me. I am so close to telling her that I am actually expecting she’ll bring me a little too far outside the house.
But as I was to tell her about it, a man came to interrupt us. He appears like he is around his late fifties or something. He is well dressed in his tux and he is even wearing a pair of white gloves. If my assumption is right, he can actually pass for a house butler.
“Good day, Miss Claudette. I seemed to find you’re enjoying your tea outside?” he asked.
I gave him a look that said it was fine. But I really am not sure how to address him. I’m scared that I may actually address him wrong because I don’t know who he is.
Thankfully, Taylor saved me by speaking on my behalf when she said, “Ah well, Sir Klen, Miss Claudette happened to be suffering from memory loss due to the accident. She doesn’t even remember me. And that, I had to reintroduce myself. Perhaps, you might actually want to reintroduce yourself too.”
Sir Klen reacts a bit of a shock. He seems to be unaware that their Miss Claudette lost her memories, when in fact I just made it all up.
“Good gracious, I am fully sorry, miss Claudette.” Sir Klen even bows down at me, he is sincerely apologetic when I don’t see any reason for him to be even one.
“It’s all right, Sir Klen.” I told him.
I am so surprised to see Sir Klen suddenly kneeling before me and asking for forgiveness once more. “I hope your late father could forgive me, miss. I don’t mean to oppress you by calling me Sir. Please, Miss Claudette, just call me Klen.”
It’s actually hilarious that just because I forgot that Klen and Taylor are part of Claudette’s servants, everything about today just completely became a little comic. I believe I should start watching my behavior from now on.
“I must have forgotten. Anyway, Klen, would you like to join me for some tea? I’d appreciate it if you'd help me remember some things about this household that I have forgotten.”
Klen is immediately flattered by my abrupt invitation. And although he refuses to sit at the same table as me, Klen prefers standing by my side as he begins to answer most of my queries about Claudette Silverstone.
From my conversation with Klen, I am able to discover that I am indeed reborn again and at the same time, the clock moves backwards into five years before my engagement with Matteo. And that is the time before Matteo and I even met each other.
I also learn that Claudette is the last living Silverstone across Anacortes, and she also happens to be the last heiress of the Silver Moon Pack.
If my memory serves me right, back in the present time, the Silver Moon pack was considered an extinct pack after the rest of them got infected by an unknown disease.
The Silverstone family is the last line that belongs to this pack, but after a year, Julius Silverstone and his daughter, Claudette Silverstone, died in a car accident and thus ended the line of the whole Silver Moon Pack.
In this lifetime, however, I get to be reborn or more like reincarnated into the body of Claudette Silverstone. Which makes sense how she is able to survive the car accident.
Learning all of these abruptly shifts my eyes to look into palms. I’m still pondering how things came to be, since it is still a great mystery to me how I am able to be reborn once again.
The eagerness to find an answer for that drives me crazy, but right now, I understand that if I am given this chance to alter the course of events that leads to my untimely death in the present time, of course I should use it well. Particularly if I wish to begin exacting my revenge against everyone in the blue moon pack and that mysterious person who betrayed me.
Now that sounds really suspicious. But I know I can’t just argue with her about it. Taking that step might just make her harm me or take back the antidote from me. I have to pretend like everything is okay from my end.In this situation I am in, I have to make it appear before Magindara’s eyes that I totally agree with her suggestion. Somehow, there are points from her statement that really do convince me but a greater picture doesn’t deny me the intuition that she might be trying to take me in as tool for her ulterior motive.I don’t know what it really is but I have to be vigilant and ready about it. Ready in a sense that I at least could handle the situation even if I am not aware what kind of battle that I am about to face here.“I’ll see what I can do.” I just replied.I believe that would be the safest thing to say for now.“Do you have any other question so far?” Magindara asked me. I wonder why she suddenly came up with that question.Did she find or somewhat noticed it from m
“Nothing that involves you or Florante.” I told him that shut him up quickly. This time, I didn’t wait for Leandro to act on my request to withdraw the troops away from Magindara. And so, I yanked my head to their direction and yelled, “All of you! Lower your weapons and withdraw from her at once!”“You can’t do that, Miss Emalia.” Leandro tried to protest.“And why can’t I?” I retort back.“Because I am the one leading them, Miss Emalia.”“Very well.” I said with full pride facing the troops, I then added, “As your master’s bride, I also hold the highest command alongside your master. Deny me of this and you shall be severely punished by your master.”And it was like a fearing statement, all the troops begin to withdraw from Magindara and not even Leandro was able to stop that.Magindara still hasn’t remove her barrier but I saw on her face that she is convinced that I did this so that we’re somewhat even for keeping me alive. I nod at her as I make my exit from the cave.As the gua
It makes me feel regretful though but a tinge part of me has become quite the curious as to how the image from the translucent pearl just keep on showing Florante when I am so focused to see my mother? My inquisitive thoughts have been rattling me once again and this just makes me frustrated as I know I won’t set myself aside without trying to know the reason why. But apparently, it seems that Magindara doesn’t have the answers for me as well and this bugs me.“I feel bad for this but do you still wish to try it again?”Though deep down within me says I would prefer to, I think it would be better off if I won’t pursue trying again. It’s kind of scary trying again and then Florante will just be the end result of it.And so I told her, “No. We’ve done it twice already. If it’s not meant for me then it’s okay, but what I just don’t understand it that, why does it keep on showing Florante no matter how I try to concentrate to see my mother? Do you perhaps know a deeper thought about it?”
After handing over the small flask of my tears to her, Magindara went to her drawers and drop in some kind of a blue liquid into before she heads back in front of the translucent pearl once more.“Come closer. Now, as I drop your tears into the pearl, I want you to envisage the moment you wish to see.” She told me.It will be quite difficult for me to try and picture it out since it was the day I was born. I have zero recollection about it except for the stories that my dad often tells me.I wonder how on earth will I start creating such image in my head. But as Magindara head on to drop the liquid on the pearl, I quickly had to concentrate and think deeply about that moment when I was born. I could use my baby images to help me concentrate and it appears that it is working. The translucent pearl is beginning to glow and I couldn’t hide my excitement that I’ll finally get to see the image of my biological mother after twenty-seven long years.Even though Magindara has stop from singi
The beauty of the silver clam boasted as it spread itself open before us. It revealed a shiny pearl inside.“This is a translucent pearl. It can give you a mirror to reflect anything you wish to see from the present and past.”Could that pearl really be that powerful enough to see anything from the past?“Will I be able to see someone from the past even if I hadn’t got the chance to know them?”“Well, the pearl never misses anything the water could see.”“There is someone I’d like to see. Could it be possible thought…I wonder.”“Do you have anyone in mind you met while you are anywhere near bodies of water?” Magindara asked.I’m not sure if it’s okay to tell her a weak side of me. But I’ve been yearning to see an image of my mother. I wonder for real, if doing this will give me the chance to see her even for a short while.“I’m not sure. The last time I was with her was when I was born. My father says she died giving birth to me.”“I’m sorry about that but it seems like we have no oth
“You came back here for the purpose of knowing the truth. But your appearance in this era has made quite some changes in the present time without your knowing.” Magindara stated. She glides her way towards rock formation that resembles a cellar.Magindara gestured me to follow her and I followed. It’s such a surprise that I actually don’t find it scary following her. For some reason, I am just too confident or was it more like I find it normal. It never came into my mind that I am inside an enemy’s lair and a mythical creature that could easily harm me. was this boost of confidence because of the other half of the orient pearl residing inside of my chest?I held into my chest and tried to scrub it gently, I wanted to feel the pearl inside of me but when I find myself looking weird, I immediately stop.Magindara and I stop when we reach the ground where a lot of jars are kept. From different sizes and colors. The whole place appears like Magindara’s secret laboratory for me. I didn’t k
