ログインLacy’s POV
It felt as if I had walked into a cold room.
Alpha Rafael just remained seated behind his desk, his piercing gaze following my movement.
Something was different about the man, usually, his gaze was intrusive but in a way that turned me on and invited me in.
Right now, I felt like a mouse in a lion’s den, every fiber of my being was telling me to get out of there as quickly as I could.
I did not understand what was going on, “Is this not a good time?” I chucked, trying to break the ice.
“It was fun while it lasted, it is over now,” his chilly voice greeted me and froze me in place.
My mouth hung open as I stared at him.
He had made no motion to get up, to greet me with an embrace and a kiss like he usually did.
I forced a smile and willed my legs into moving forward towards the minibar to the right.
He just kept watching me, his fingers interlocked and his elbows on the varnished and polished table.
My hands were shaking when I held the bottle and spilled the content all around all in the name of pouring myself a drink.
“Do you want one?” I asked, trying to sound as causal as possible, I failed.
He didn’t respond.
“I will pour you one,” I said more to myself than to him.
I carried the two glasses back and dropped one on a pad for him while I held the other in my hand.
“You – you… you…” my throat clasped up and I found it impossible to make a sentence. I downed the glass of iced Scotch.
The liquid courage was what I needed right now, “Is this why you asked me to come?” I finally managed to get the word out.
“Alpha, if I did anything wrong, give me the opportunity to make up for it, please,” I dropped to my knees.
His gaze hadn’t left me since I walked in, now he reached for the glass I dropped and emptied the content in one shot and then got up.
My eyes looked up at him pleading, my throat burned and felt constricted again, there was a lot I wanted to say, to ask but I could not manage to let the words out.
He walked past his desk, each step calculated and slow, he paused at my side and looked down at me.
I could not recognize the man that was staring down at me, eyes that once burned fiercely with passion were now cold and repelling.
Before he even spoke, his gaze alone cut my heart in two and I gasped.
“Feel free to have another drink, take the bottle if you want, pull yourself together… and be gone before I get back.”
A piercing pain radiated from my left chest and ran across to the right causing me to clutch my chest suddenly and wheeze.
He scoffed at my reaction and then walked out the door.
When I heard the door click behind me, I broke down.
What did I do?
Why was this happening now?
It still felt so unreal, how did someone turn from loving to whatever this was so quickly?
The tears flowed freely down my cheeks as I forced myself to stand.
My legs wobbled but they held my weight, I sniffled.
Disobeying a command from my alpha was something not even a broken heart would allow me to do.
I wiped my tears with the back of my hand as I stumbled towards the door.
My head spun, my heart tore at me and my throat made breathing almost impossible, as I stumbled towards the narrow corridor that led to the servant exit.
“It is you, isn’t it?” a rich female voice called from behind.
I paused, sniffled and then turned around.
The woman in front of me now was dressed in a corporate purple and black attire, she looked vaguely familiar but I could not place where I had seen her before.
On top of that, she had unnaturally pale skin with blonde hair.
I squinted as the tears stung my eyes as they began to flow once more.
“I suppose I have you to thank for keeping his bed warm for me,” she smirked as she took a step further.
I squinted, keeping his bed warm? Who was she referring to? Alpha Rafael?
She chuckled as she came closer, “Mhh,” she said as she ran her fingers through my hair, “Not bad, my mate has good taste,” she smacked her lips.
Before I could stop myself, my left hand flew forward and smacked her hand away from my hair, “Don’t touch me!” I snarled.
“Oh… feisty,” she laughed in my face.
“What did you just say?” I took a menacing step forward, my wolf rising to the surface and fighting to take control.
She didn’t move an inch, the smile on her face only grew wider, “Wait… he didn’t tell you? Oh, poor, poor you.”
“Tell me what?” I snarled as Kira my wolf rose closer and closer to the surface.
“Why he ended things with you of course,” she chuckled in my face.
I fought the tears and pain that was swelling within me, my last restraints were about to snap, my face was red now, veins bulging on my temple.
The smile vaporized from her face and she scowled at me, reached out and poked me with her right index finger. “You had your fun but he is mine now. I am going to be Luna and there is nothing a sneaky whore like you or anyone else can do about it.”
Something within me snapped when I heard those words, white light exploded in front of my face and when I finally regained my vision, my claws were out and dripping with blood and I was snarling.
The blonde deathly pale woman was on the floor yelling and clutching her left hand that bore four red livid claw marks.
“Help, she is trying to kill me!” she yelled.
Lacy’s POVLucas was outside mum’s hospital room and he got up as soon as he saw me.“I am not here to fight, I just want to see how she is doing,” I said with my hands in the air, a sign of complete surrender. He stared at me and then he sighed, “Good, she has been asking about you… and the kids.”“I haven’t even told them about what happened to their granny yet, can’t bring myself to,” I admitted out loud.Lucas nodded, “That’s probably for the best. She would be out of here in a few days, no need to worry them.”I smiled at him, “Were you just being considerate to your nephews and niece?”He scoffed, “Whatever, come on in.”I followed behind him, the smile on my face getting bigger, “They are adorable, aren’t they? Even you can’t deny that.”He scoffed louder but there was mirth in his voice now, “Don’t you have any shame?”“Not at all,” I giggled.Lucas chuckled. My smile widened.I got a chuckle out of him, maybe things were not so hopeless.Mum was sitting up in bed getting che
Rosa’s POV“Mum, I am telling you. He was as crazy as a bat out of hell!”I was pacing back and forth in my mother’s chamber in the North Wing.“I think he know, Ma, I think he does! I have never seen him this angry.”My entire body shuddered as I recalled what happened. The alpha had never stared at me like that before, not with such a murderous gaze, a gaze that paralyzed me and made me almost piss myself.“Mum! You are not saying anything!” I began to panic.“Would you just shut it for a minute and let me think?” She snapped. My mother was seating in an arm chair with her right hand tucked under her jaw, “What else did he say?”“Nothing, he stormed off after telling me to stay away from that bitch.” I was breathing heavily as I tried to calm myself down.“He smashed my favorite mirror, mum. He did! We are screwed.”“Could you shut it and let me think?” She snapped again.I stared at her and smirked, “This is all your fault, you are the one that told me to go after Lacy. You caused
Rafael’s POV“How much is it going to cost?” I asked.Alpha Johnson’s voice sounded gruff through the phone, “Sixteen million, give or take.”I frowned, “The asking price is 10, what is the other 6 supposed to be for?”I heard him chuckle on the other end of the line, “Alright, make it twelve and let’s call it a day.”“Johnson, all you are getting out of me is 11 and it will be wired to your corporate account within the hour.”“Always as frugal as ever,” he commented, “Fine, eleven it is but don’t transfer it yet. Let the paperwork be finalized with Baron Steel first. I don’t want such huge sum accumulating dust and getting taxed.”“Let me know when. And Johnson… Don’t forget your own end of the deal,” I reminded him.“It is not me you should be worrying about. My vote alone will not get you the result you need. Who else have you managed to convince?”“You let me worry about the other votes, just do your part.”I hung up and frowned.Alpha Johnson was not wrong, I needed at least one
Blaine’s POV“What is this?” Lacy asked as she reached into the envelope and pulled out its contents.I leaned back and watched her expression as she went through them. She was shaking her head, a look of confusion on her face, “What are these? What am I looking at here?”She dropped the pictures that were in the envelope on the table and looked at me with a questioning look.“Blaine, what does this have to do with stopping the merger?”I smiled, “I take it you don’t know who any of the people in the pictures are.”“Am I supposed to know them?” she looked slightly irritated. “This is your smoking gun?”I decided to explain, “The man in the picture – that is alpha Johnson of Johnson Corp and the woman that he is fooling around with is the wife of the CEO of Baron Steels. The company Johnson Corp wants to merge with.”Lacy gasped, “What? Alpha Johnson is having an affair with the wife of the man he wants to do a merger with?”“Exactly.”She shook her head in disapproval, “But how exactl
Lacy’s POVMy emotions were all over the place when I left the alpha’s mansion.I had walked in there angry, bent on confronting Rosa because of what she did. I didn’t expect to run into the alpha there or to cry my eyes out in his embrace.Surely this could not be the same guy that accused me of being a whore and wanted nothing to do with me a day ago.I didn’t know how to feel about it, trying to wrap my head around the whole thing was giving me a headache.“Lacy, wait up!”I paused and turned around, it was beta Ted.At first, my heart skipped a beat and then I remembered that Blaine said that he lost his memory.Still, I felt uncomfortable being close to him, after all, I was right there when his face got smashed into the pillar.“Traitor!” I could still hear the bitter hatred in his voice when he caught us then. A shiver went through my spine.Beta Ted walked up to me with short unhurried steps, “We need to talk,” he said pointedly. My breath caught in my throat. Could his memor
Third Person POVThe situation inside the vacant hall was causing a lot of tension outside.Ted knew from the moment that Luna Rosa walked in, it was going to be a shitstorm and he braced for it.Not too long ago, the alpha had told him to look into the luna, a request that seemed strange and carried some unspoken implications.Ted was no fool, he could tell that this had something to do with the meeting with Alpha Blaine and also Lacy. Everything seemed to revolve around Lacy.Even as he was thinking this, the door opened, Lacy came out and banged it behind her.She looked flustered and angry, Ted observed from the end of the corridor. She turned left and then right, seemingly confused and that was when the twins came at her.Tina came from the left and Tia came from the right and they accosted her. “Trash like you don’t know when to call it quits, do you?” they chorused.Lacy stared at both sisters with anger burning in her eyes, “You are all going to get what is coming to you,” she
