LOGINLacy’s POV
Alpha Rafael’s words hit me like a hammer to the face.
I felt the strength seep out of my legs; I was lucky to still be kneeling if not I would have collapsed.
I just knelt there, a confused look on my face… unable to process the words that the man I loved just uttered to me.
How did we even get here?
Could I not catch a break?
I had not even processed the fact that he was putting an end to our relationship, had not even dealt with the heart break from that, then came that white witch from nowhere and now there she was again, standing by his side…
That was who he was choosing as his Luna? How? What was going on?
“Do you have anything to say for yourself?” he thundered at me.
I felt the ground beneath me shake, the crowd was hurling insults at me, spitting and booing with all their might.
My eyes searched the crowd for some sort of support, I spotted my family and they were staring at me with disbelief, unable to even support me.
No one I know knew about the affair I was having with the alpha, right now I just looked like a lunatic who attacked the future Luna without cause.
I tried to look to the man I loved for support, there was nothing but murderous hate in his eyes as he glared at me.
It felt like another knife was slowly inserted into my already chopped up heart and I died within once more.
If only the ground could open and swallow me, I opened my mouth but my throat burned and constricted so badly, I could not even speak.
Would it not be better if he killed me? Banishment was a fate worse than death.
“She has nothing to say for herself,” he continued, “Her guilt is certain and undoubtable.”
I gasped, was alpha Rafael so dense that he could not see that I was hurting? Could he not see… the pain choked up my thoughts and my vision blurred.
It was as if I was having an out of body experience, I felt completely numb as the guards grabbed me from either side and dragged me away from the booing crowd.
I took one last look at the podium and that was when I saw the white witch, her arm was interlocked with that of alpha Rafael and she was staring at me… that same infuriating smirk was on her face.
That was the last thing I recalled before passing out from exhaustion.
****
When I came to, I was in the woods wet and alone.
I sat up hurriedly and looked around me, tall trees ran back and forth with broad and encapsulating canopy.
It was raining lightly.
I sat there for what felt like an eternity, I had nothing, no one, nowhere.
I had never stepped foot outside the pack since the day I was born. We were taught that beyond lay other packs, the dreary human world and the other kingdoms as well as unspeakable evil and filth.
How was I going to survive in a place like this? I had no idea what to do or where to go?
“Why did you not just kill me!” I yelled and a clap of thunder drowned out my voice. “You should have just killed me, curse you Rafael, curse you!” I yelled once more at the top of my lungs as the tears poured down freely, I clasped my chest as I forced myself to get up.
I had disgraced my family and gotten banished. I didn’t deserve to live, there was no point, my pack… all I had known since birth despised me, rejected me… I was nothing without them.
What was the point of living? As the picture of her arm interlocked with his flashed in my mind again, my heart tore open afresh.
I had loved that man for a year and never for once had he flaunted me publicly with such pride.
My feet carried me forward, I didn’t know where I was going, I didn’t even know why I was even bothering to move.
I kept stumbling through the forest until I reached an abrupt cliff and then I stiffened as I almost lost my footing and plunged towards the dark depths below.
“The cliff of a thousand souls,” a deep voice boomed from my left.
I turned to look so wearily, there was a man sitting at the far edge of the cliff, dangling his legs freely, he turned to look at me.
His eyes were abnormally blonde, something I had never seen before.
But I was too grief-stricken and heartbroken to be amazed by it or by him.
“They say that this is where banished wolves or wolves who have lost the will to live come to die. If you listen carefully, you can hear the howl of the grievous souls at the bottom.”
“Is that so, maybe I should join them,” I inched forward, kicking small rubble into the abyss below.
There was no point to me living again, I could not survive without my pack, it would be better to just end everything now than to try living with the badge of shame and disgrace that I wore.
I inched further again, my toes were over the edge now, only the heels of my feet kept me grounded as I looked down into the dark abyss.
A streak of lightning cracked open the dark skies and threw a little light into the darkness below – I could have sworn I saw hands reaching out to me, beckoning me to take the fall.
I inched forward again.
“I get that you want to die but do you plan to take all three of them with you?”
His voice was as clear as a clap of thunder and it touched something so deep and primal, I paused and looked at him, “What?”
His blonde eyes fixed themselves on me, sending a vicious chill down my spine, “Did you not know? You are pregnant with triplets.”
Lacy’s POVRosa sat regally, her legs were crossed, and she gave me a fleeting look and then turned her face away from me and muttered something to one of the women that were close to her.I hesitated, a part of me still wanted to charge full steam ahead and confront her, but my instincts told me it would be a bad idea.Thoughts of what happened six years flashed in my mind, and my heartbeat quickened.“Uhm,” the lady smirked as she approached me, “Lacy, right?”I shot her a dangerous look. She gasped.“Such an animal, see the look on her face,” a voice whispered loud enough for me to hear it.“My goddess, how did she get in here?” another responded in the same hushed voice that was just loud enough for me to hear it.The lady speaking to me cleared her throat and tried to look authoritative. She was dressed in a flowing yellow dress and high stiletto heels.I caught her eyeing my snow blonde hair.“So shameless, she is still rocking this look,” another voice muttered in the ball room
Lacy’s POV“Wait, what does that mean?” I said, a sudden weariness falling upon me.Lucas was fuming, his chest rising and falling as he stared at me.I wanted answers, “What the hell are you talking about? On the hook how?”“Like you care,” he finally replied. His words cut deep and forced me to squint, “Of course I do care, I care about you and mom.”“Bullshit! Okay? You don’t.”He marched back to the door and yanked it open, “Just get out, Lacy. we were doing well before you came back into our lives.”I didn’t move an inch, “I am not going anywhere, not until I see mom!”“She does not want to see you!” he yelled as he simultaneously slammed the door back.“That’s not true,” I shook my head vigorously.“Mom was sick and, in the hospital, and somehow, you made it all about you, and then you went ahead and disrespected the Luna. You could not even respect yourself!” his voice shot up. Veins were bulging in his neck.My gaze narrowed even further as I stared at him, “Where is mum, Luca
Lacy’s POV“Wh-,” I felt myself stutter and shudder.“Shuu-” he placed his right index finger on my lips and pressed it shut.He was touching me.Electricity ran through my face, and I stiffened and fought back a moan.“No one tells me what to do – Get it?”I wanted to say I did, but his finger was still pressed against my lips.He slid it down slowly, and when it crossed my upper lips, he let it linger on my lower lips, pulling it apart a little. It was like being shocked repeatedly. I just stood still shuddering as spasms hit me back to front.I could not even explain what was happening and things that I thought I would never feel again began to creep up.My nipples got very erect, and I felt goosebumps all over my body. Our gazes were locked, and there was something devious dancing in his eyes.I took a step back and was almost sorry that I did.It was like whiplash. The sudden surge and regression of erotic feelings in me made me dizzy.I staggered and held onto the wall to balanc
Lacy’s POV“I do not like to repeat myself, tell me what you want!” Baron Steel demanded.“Nothing,” I said and folded my arms.“Nonsense!” he exclaimed, “You expect me to believe that?”“Believe what you want. Frankly, I don’t care.” I paused for a while, “If I am being completely honest, I do want something.”“There we go…”“But not in the way you think,” I said, cutting him off.His gaze narrowed, “Out with it.”“I am the type of person that can prevent problems for you before you are even aware of them, that is what I am good at and two, it is in my private interest to ensure that Mr. Jackman don’t get the deal.”He studied me for a while, his gaze hard and calculating.I stood still and took a deep breath. In the face of the fierce gaze of monsters like alpha Rafael and his beta, Ted, Mr. Steel’s gaze was nothing.“I like you,” he said at last. “Lacy, right?”I nodded. He slid the photos back into the envelope, “I will be in touch.”I gave a small smile, bowed courteously, and th
Rafael’s POVThe meeting with alpha Harden went better than I could have ever anticipated. Finally, I had the upper hand, all that was left was to keep a low profile until the day of the alliance meeting and finally, this nightmare with Blaine would be over.Because of how quickly the meeting wrapped up, I returned back to the pack in record time.“I need you to explain yourself,” Ted voice roared.I told the driver to hit the brakes and then wound down the back window.Over in the distance, near the parking garage, Ted was having a confrontation with a tall, lanky man – there was no doubt in my mind that it was Mike Flamez.I got out of the car and began to approach the arguing men on foot.“I have nothing to say to the likes of you,” Mike retorted with a smug and defiant look on his face.Ted sneered and came closer, “What did you just say?”Mike’s hands went behind his long trench coat.I could intuitively feel it, he was reaching for a weapon – a fight was about to break out.Non
Lacy’s POVHis expression was still calm, “Why are you so interested in protecting the image of the man who wants you dead?”I gasped and stared at Blaine, “What?”He arched an eyebrow, a questioning look still on his face.“Alpha Rafael is not the one who wants me dead,” I said in his defense.I didn’t know why I reacted that way but I felt the overpowering urge to defend him, “It is Rosa, she is the problem.”He scoffed, “Don’t be naïve, Lacy. Do you really think a luna can make a move with the blessing of her alpha?”I shook my head, “No, no, you don’t know Rosa like I do. Trust me, this is all on her.”“Wake up, Lacy!” he snapped. “How can you not see it yet?”“See what?” I spread my hands out, “What are you talking about?”“You think it is a coincidence that you and your KIDS…” he stressed, “Were attacked so close to the alliance meeting?”I frowned.“Rafael thinks he is going to win. That is why he is making all these bold moves, not minding what I can do about it, don’t you see
Lacy’s POVDespite myself, I chuckled. He had to be kidding and what a cruel joke it was to tell to someone that was already despondent. But those penetrating blonde eyes remained on me, the intensity of their gaze forcing me to focus on them and dispel the thought that this was some joke.“I wonder
Lacy’s POVIt felt as if I had walked into a cold room.Alpha Rafael just remained seated behind his desk, his piercing gaze following my movement.Something was different about the man, usually, his gaze was intrusive but in a way that turned me on and invited me in.Right now, I felt like a mouse
Rafael’s POV“What!” I banged my table and stood up, eyes wide and unbelieving.I was not certain if I had heard right, “When?”“A couple of minutes ago,” Beta Ted muttered.I exhaled deeply, “Where is she?”“In the guest room,” he responded stiffly.I glared at him, I gave him one simple instructi
Lacy’s POV“Don’t stop,” I moaned breathlessly. He growled in my ear and the deep vibration from his throat stirred my insides and I felt my thighs vibrate in a sensual response to his voice so close to me.His grip on my hips tightened as he pushed me against the ornate table and leaned in close,
