LOGINCHAPTER 12: TOUGH QUESTIONSMira’s POVThe moment the door closed behind me the room felt heavier. Alpha Theron sat behind his desk, he was calm in a way that made my stomach twist. His eyes were sharp like he could see every lie before I even spill it out of my mouth.“Sit!” he said.I sat. My palms were already sweaty.“Tell me where you’re from.”“Ashback Pack.” I said. His eyes narrowed a bit.“And who are you exactly?”“Huh!"“Who are you?"“My name is Mira. I was born there."“Born where? Are you okay?"“ I lived like every normal girl until everything changed.”“What changed?"“The Moonbrand choosing me as the Luna.” I explained. His fingers tapped on the table slowly like he was measuring my heartbeat.“What did you do that made them exile you?”I felt the sting of the word again just by thinking about it. The truth always sat heavy but I pushed through it.“They said I disrespected the council. That I challenged their order. But all I did was defend myself. Someone accused me
CHAPTER 11: TRUSTElric’s POVThe following morning came slowly but my mind was awake. I barely slept. My head kept replaying Mira’s smile from last night and the fear in her eyes when she told me her story. I had promised to protect her and I meant it and promised to keep my promise to her forever. So I went straight to Alpha Theron. His office was dark like always. He liked to stay in the dark more than the sunlight. He looked up the moment I entered.“Elric,” he said, voice low. “I heard you brought someone back. A girl with the Moonbrand. Tell me if that is good or bad for this pack.”I swallowed slowly. Theron was not the kind of Alpha you can lie to.“She’s not a threat.” I told him, sounding more like I'm defending me. “She didn’t even know the type of powers she was carrying. She just wants a place to breathe. I brought her because she deserves safety”Theron leaned back like he wanted to read the riddle on my face.“Peace or destruction Elric. Which one does she bring?”“Peac
CHAPTER 10: FLASHES OF POWERMIRA’S POVStepping into the shadowfang pack, I felt the changes in the air. The pack moved around us, they're strong and alert and watching. My heart beat in my chest but Elric walked beside me like he owned everything in this pack. When we reached his mansion, I honestly forgot how to breathe. The place wasn’t a house. It was a whole kingdom on its own. Tall pillars. Wide glass windows. A long balcony that wrapped around the top floor. I’m sure my mouth was open because Elric chuckled behind me.“You haven’t seen anything yet.” he said “this is the small part.”“Small!” I whispered because that was all my mouth could manage. He opened the door and a warm air brushed my skin. The inside smelled like pine and something crisp that reminded me of rain. Everything looked soft and lived in. He didn’t decorate to impress anyone. It felt like a place where someone strong rested after carrying too much.“You live here alone.” I asked as I stepped in.“For now.” h
CHAPTER 9: RETURN TO SHADOWFANGElric’s POVThe forest grew quiet as we walked and whatever called Mira’s name was now gone. Now, there's no whisper , no echo , nothing. Mira kept glancing over her shoulder like she expected the trees to speak again. I didn’t blame her though, she was vigilant. Even my wolf stayed alert.“We’re close,” I said as the smell of Shadowfang territory drifted in the air. It's home but not really home, it was not after I left six months ago.Elara scurried ahead. “Why does the security look tighter than when we first left? Did they move the whole army to the border?”I studied the patrol lines. The guards were thicker and their movements were now sharper. Even the barrier stones looked newly reinforced. Something must have happened, or maybe Alpha Gideon was just being himself. Or he might be paranoid and dramatic.I sighed. “Great. This will be fun.”Mira pulled her cloak closer. “Are you sure we can enter unnoticed? I really don’t want to cause trouble f
CHAPTER 8: THE FUTURE WITH YOU Elric was already in front of me before I finished catching my breath. He drew his sword so fast the air around it whistled. His whole body stayed low, ready to attack whatever knocked me off my feet. Elara shifted beside him, blade raised, her eyes darting through the trees. My back still throbbed from the hit. The force felt like a giant hand had slapped me out of the world. “Elric,” I whispered, still dizzy. “Stay behind me,” he said. His tone carried no argument. His eyes never left the shadows ahead. Elara moved to my other side. “If something comes out of that mist, I'm cutting first and asking questions next.” Something moved, it was soft and slow, like someone brushing cloth against leaves. Elric lifted his sword higher. Then she stepped out. A woman with silver-streaked hair and sharp eyes that missed nothing. She didn’t look dangerous, but the air around her felt heavy. Her dress was simple, her expression unimpressed, and she
CHAPTER 7: MOONBRAND GLOWED The air in the councilor’s office was too cold, like the walls were holding their breath. Alpha Rael stood behind the wide wooden desk, his jaw tight, eyes fixed on the old moon crest that is carved into the floor. The candlelight flickered. The door creaked open, and Councilor Matthias stepped in, his robe dragging behind him. “Alpha,” he said, his voice uneasy. “Something happened last night. The Moonbrand bronze... it glowed.” Rael lifted his head slowly, his eyes narrowing. “Are you sure?” Matthias nodded. “I saw it myself. The color wasn’t dull. It shines bronze like fire in moonlight.” For a long time, Rael said nothing. Then he turned to the window. “That mark hasn’t glowed in centuries,” he muttered. “It only reacts when a Moonborn’s blood stirs again.” Matthias stepped closer. “But that’s impossible. We exiled her. She drank wolfsbane and no one survives that.” Rael’s voice dropped low. “And still the bronze glowed.” Silence filled
