SERAPHINA'S POV

I couldn't sleep the entire night. I kept thinking about what would happen if the Alpha King eventually regained consciousness and decided to send me from the pack.

My parents and I would have no choice but to become rogues. Since it would be the Alpha King himself sending us away, no other pack would dare take us in, especially if they discovered that I was the reincarnation of the Umbra Beast, the werewolves' greatest enemy.

Maybe I should have just let them proceed with the

RONAN'S POVIt was almost noon, and we had been fighting non-stop for hours. At first, we were gaining the upper hand, but things suddenly took a turn. The vampires started overpowering us, attacking with silver swords. The silver swords were one of the greatest advantages they had against us. Their speed too was another problem, they were so fast.I could tell that my wolf was already getting exhausted, but we had to push through. We couldn't afford to lose this battle. We've lost a lot of our warriors, and we were now seriously outnumbered. Father ordered one of the warriors to seek help from the neighbouring packs. I could only hope he reached them safely and returned with the warriors as soon as possible. Before we could stop them, the vampires had already infiltrated the pack, killing people and destroying their homes. We had to focus on stopping those still close to the border from going further into the pack and causing more destruction.Unfortunately, it wasn't easy. Their spe

  • THE LUNA WITHOUT A WOLF   A DANGEROUS ENCOUNTER

SERAPHINA'S POVThe moment I heard that they had entered the main pack, I quickly stood up, wanting to rush home and make sure my parents were safe.“They will be fine. They should know how to take care of themselves,” Clara assured me.“But the vampires are really strong. They might not be expecting the attack,” I replied worriedly.“So, what exactly are you planning to do when you get there? What if you run into some vampires on your way?”“They would be able to tell from my scent that I'm not a wolf. Maybe they wouldn't harm me.”She chuckled mockingly.“Yeah, right! Did you see how fast they were during the fight? Before they even have time to notice your scent, they could have taken you down.”“I picked up a few fighting skills from my trainer. The one Ronan hired to train me. Maybe it's time I put those skills to good use.”“When was the last time you actually fought someone?”“During my training…”“And you think you can defeat enemies that even powerful warriors are struggling

  • THE LUNA WITHOUT A WOLF   CHAPTER SEVENTY-TWO

SERAPHINA'S POVImmediately Ronan left, I became extremely worried. I had never felt that anxious before. I watched through the window as he walked away, and then I saw him shift into his wolf.I opened my mouth in shock. His wolf was the biggest wolf I've ever seen. It was even bigger than Alpha Lucian's wolf, and its fur was a mixture of light and dark brown.“Wow! It's so big and beautiful,” I said in awe, forgetting about my worries.“What is?” Mom asked as she came over to peek through the window.“Ronan's wolf,” I answered. But before she could say anything else, he sprinted away.Mom hissed.“There's more at stake here than admiring someone else's wolf,” she said as she walked into the kitchen.“It's my first time seeing it, so I'm surprised by how big it is,” I explained.“He's an Alpha, not just any Alpha. He's the heir to the throne, so he will naturally have a large wolf capable of intimidating others,” Clara explained.“That's cool,” I said with a smile.“What is all that

  • THE LUNA WITHOUT A WOLF   CHAPTER SEVENTY-ONE

RONAN'S POVI woke up to the sound of someone banging on my door. I've been extremely busy over the past few days, and I had planned to spend today sleeping in and getting some rest.I groaned as I got out of bed.“Can't I just have one day to myself? Just one day to rest,” I muttered as I made my way towards the door. The person knocked loudly again.“I’m coming! You don't have to break the door down!”I opened the door and found Yomi standing outside.“You'd better have a good reason for trying to break down my door this early in the morning,” I said before turning and walking back into my room.I heard him struggling to catch his breath behind me.“Alpha...” he called urgently, but paused to catch his breath.I sat on my bed while he remained standing by the doorway. I yawned and looked at him, waiting for him to finish whatever he had to say.“...We've been attacked,” he finally managed to say under his breath.I immediately stood up.At first, I thought it was probably a minor at

SERAPHINA'S POV“Dad?” I called.“You got back before nine,” Dad said, standing up and lighting the candle in the middle of the table.I stood in one spot, staring at him.“He kept to his word. That's impressive,” he said before turning and walking towards his room.“Why do you hate Ronan so much?” I asked, stopping him in his tracks. He paused and turned slightly to look at me.“What makes you think I hate him?”“Your attitude towards him, bringing another mate for me. I'm sure that if he weren't the Alpha, you would have forbidden him from even seeing me.” I took a deep breath. “He's my mate, Dad. You have to stop being so mean to him.”He let out a dry chuckle.“You see, everything I'm doing is for your own good. But you won't understand that because you're blinded by your feelings for him.”“I'm not blinded!” I protested. “I love Ronan, yes, but I'm still capable of knowing what's right for me and what isn't.”“Ronan is good for you,” Dad admitted. “I've seen the way he looks at y

  • THE LUNA WITHOUT A WOLF   CHAPTER SIXTY-NINE

SERAPHINA'S POVFor the next few days, I kept reminiscing about what had happened between Ronan and me. No matter how hard I tried to distract myself, my thoughts always found their way back to that moment. And I wanted more of it.Maybe it was because of the mark. Whatever the reason, I couldn't deny how much I craved being close to him again.I've been constantly checking the mark since that day, and thankfully, it hasn't disappeared. Perhaps the first mark had vanished because we didn't complete the marking process. My cheeks warmed as I recalled everything that had happened after Ronan marked me for the second time."What are you thinking about?"Someone's voice interrupted my train of thought.I turned to find Evelyn staring at me. I sighed and looked away, pretending I wasn't thinking seriously. She and Liam had come to visit me after hearing that I was sent out of the infirmary. They probably assumed I'd be sitting alone at home, feeling miserable and overthinking everything t
