Thomas's pov.

It was evident in alpha Federico's face and body language that what I said got on his nerves.

As much as I enjoyed tormenting him with words I didn't want anything I said to hurt Azalea's well-being.

"Let's skip the proverbs Dad, let's talk about the pack matters and all I have to discuss with the neighbouring pack," I said and sat on his couch.

He joined in and we started discussing pack matters.

There was so much tension in the room as we spoke because our eyes and minds did more of the talking.

We spoke politely to each other in a normal tone but our facial expressions were not matched with our voices or what we said.

I was so suspicious of him and the way he was behaving, I feared deeply for Azaleas.

Our words were carefully selected while we spoke, and despite our obvious suspicions against each other we continued to discuss the neighbouring pack's status.

The atmosphere in the room changed because of the unspoken aggression we felt against each other.
