Freya

I was furious at my beta, who was trembling like leaves. As I glanced at him, my eyes were filled with rage. I couldn't believe what he had just said.

What the hell does he think? Does he think he can just order me around here? I'm the pack's alpha, but my dumb beta isn't obeying my orders.

He is questioning my orders. If he does this again, I'll make him pay. I'd have had his head on a platter of gold if it hadn't been for the fact that I'm close to his mate. I don't want to injure my friend by killing him.

"If you dare try to question my order, I'll kill you, not minding if you are my friend's mate." "You should know your place in this pack." I screamed fiercely, and the maids in the area fled in terror, but I didn't care.

At that point, all I want to do is murder him. My wolf was going mad on me; she despised being questioned, and she also disliked the way I pardoned him after what he had just said.

"I'm sorry, Alpha. "I'm going to get it done now," he murmured as he dropped his head in dread before leaving me alone, and I marched angrily toward my room.

I puffed angrily as I sat on the bed, scowling around the room.

It had been years since I had looked for my mate, and I had scoured all other packs for him but couldn't find him.

Now I'm ready to search for smaller packs for him. The beta is attempting to test me by questioning my order. He doesn't want me to go to the smaller packs in search of my mate; instead, he wants me to stay here and control the pack by myself.

I knew he was saying it because he had discovered his mate in one of the packs when we went in quest of my mate. He was overjoyed and couldn't stop praising me, but he now wanted to turn against me. He wants me to be alone without my mate.

He has no idea how I feel after all these years without my spouse. I had assumed that I would not be granted a mate, but seeing that my betta had seen his mate gave me hope.

My grandfather had met his mate the minute he turned eighteen, but he had to wait more than two years for his mate to acknowledge him because his partner was a pack member.

He will be in control of the pack when they are not present, and his friend will assist him.

"Alpha, the chariot is ready," Bruce, my beta, said, and I rolled my eyes.

"Go get your things ready; we'll leave in an hour," I said, shutting off the mind-link to get my clothes and other things ready for the day.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to find my mate, but I'm still holding out hope. I had wanted to find my mate. I knew I'd have no choice but to choose one of the leaders of the neighboring pack as my mate.

I understood that if a pack does not have an alpha, it will fail, yet my pack has been successful without an alpha.

I assumed that everyone in the pack was fine with it, but others were not. They were all desperate to be my chosen partner, and they were willing to go to any length to get it. They are putting my abilities to the test. They thought I couldn't lead on my own any longer. They are doubting me rather than striving to believe in me.

If it hadn't been for my parents' inaction, I would have done considerably worse to them.

My parents were still alive, and they would pitch in with the pack's chores whenever they could.

I was gone. They were also dissatisfied with how the pack members were revolting, but realizing that they were correct left them with no alternative but to do what was necessary.

My father granted me the alpha position when I was twenty years old, and I'm now twenty-four. I didn't like the notion of what the pack members wanted, but I understood that if I don't do what I can now, things will be difficult for me later.

My father had told me that the male pack members had decided on a date for a duel in order to keep the peace. a duel to see who is the strongest. a duel that will decide my mate among them, and if I fail to follow the duel's procedure, I will lose my position as the pack's alpha.

It was said that whoever won the combat would be both my mate and the pack's alpha. I knew that others from other packs would be there as well. Alphas who wanted to marry me lavished me with presents. They're all after me because of what they stand to gain. They were all pursuing me because they wanted to be the mate of a strong Luna, which I didn't want to be.

I despise the title "Luna," and this is why.

since the words just make someone weak. I understood that individuals who had Alphas and Lunas in their packs had done well, but my situation was unique. I don't want to be subservient to anyone; therefore, I did everything I could to avoid becoming weak. I worked out every day and night to get to where I am now. I worked hard not to become a weak and submissive mate, or Luna, to any alpha.

I knew that Lunas from other packs were always obedient and ruled by an alpha. I don't want to end up like them. I don't want to be forced to do something by someone else.

I want my situation to be different. I want my buddy to appreciate me as much as I respect him. I only hope my prayers are answered since I don't know what I'll do if my mate turns out to be a power-hungry werewolf.

I knew the pack members would back down from what they were planning to do once they saw I now had a mate, and I'm glad I did, even if I haven't located him yet.

**********

I'm on my way to one of the tiniest packs in the country, and the first pack we pass by is the blue moon pack, which also happens to be the weakest pack in the country.

The pack was little known, but I had made my choices. I knew going to a small and weak pack wasn't a good idea, but I didn't mind doing anything to find my mate.

"I hope you didn't inform the alpha of our coming." I asked Samuel, who nodded, and turned to give him a hard stare.

"What do I tell you about answering my question with words?" I yelled angrily at him.

"I'm sorry, Alpha," he apologized quickly, and I hopped down from the chariot.

As I moved into the pack, an amazing smell filled my nostrils. The scent of wild wood and cherries flooded my lungs.

"Mate!!!" My wolf screamed gleefully.

  • THE LYCAN'S DUEL   Embracing Destiny

Days have passed since the event, and everything is going as planned. Since Lucius and Freya had made the decision to move on with their lives, it was as if nothing had happened over the previous few days. They've made the decision to live in the present rather than the past. They made the wonderful decision to hold both their coronation and mating ceremonies since they understood not to dwell on them. As they get ready for the coronation, which is set to start at noon, they are all grinning. There were guests everywhere, and there was a lively buzz about the pack. There were lots of sounds coming from the pack as people were chatting about the evening's event. After the event, everyone seemed to adore Freya and Lucius. It was no longer a mystery that the werewolf council's leader wasn't as good as he had claimed to be; everyone was aware of what had happened. The fact that Lucius's father was the late Lycan, who previously led the werewolf council, is now well known.Everyone adored

  • THE LYCAN'S DUEL   Lycan's Awakening

LuciusI was furious about everything that was happening, but I was powerless to stop it. I was furious as I listened to the so-called alpha tell me all he had done to my parents. If I hadn't wanted to deviate from the plan, I would have demolished the entire house out of anger. I understood that carrying out that action would compromise the original intent of this plan. I now see why Freya warned me that I may be betrayed by anyone, and that would put me in danger. I was aware that the man's only goal would be to murder me. I was getting so upset at everything he said to me about my parents that I thought I could lose my temper. Hatred toward the man who was accountable for everything that had occurred was visible in my eyes. I realized that it was all his fault that I had never had a wolf in the first place. I was aware that he posed a threat to everyone and that my goal in ending him was to do so immediately. I knew that if things had gone wrong, it wouldn't have ended well, so I

  • THE LYCAN'S DUEL   Thorne's Vengeful Intentions

ThorneIt came as a huge shock to me to know that all this was a plan from Freya. She made me look like a fool. She had outrun me and found ways to protect her mate at all costs, and I felt myself wanting nothing other than to kill her. My eyes turned red as I tried hard not to kill her immediately. I knew that there would be no words of all this to anyone out there if they were both dead. I knew that I had to kill Freya and Lucius, and I have been trying to avoid that as well. It hurt me to know that I would have to kill someone like Freya someday, but I knew there was nothing I could do to escape that. I knew that I would end up killing her today to make sure everything that happens here stays a secret. I knew that I would also have a chance of acquiring Freya's pack for myself. I knew that it would make my pack more broody than it is. I was happy that I would finally be getting a new pack for myself. I knew that it wouldn't be easy for me to take on Freya since she is a strong alp

  • THE LYCAN'S DUEL   Freya's Stand Against Deceit

FreyaI woke up as quickly as I could, ignoring everyone. I knew that they all thought that I was still grieving over Lucius's disappearance, but I'm not. I knew exactly what was going on, and there was nothing anyone would say to me that would make me talk to them. Everybody was extremely worried about me and how I'm fairing without Lucius being kidnapped. I didn't eat last night because I didn't know how Lucius was fairing wherever he was. I was glad to know that the men I had sent to go after him were with him. I had a new sense of security. I walked toward the direction of the place where Lucius was. I shifted into my wolf's form after I noticed that I still had a lot of distance to cover. I shifted back into my human form after I had gotten to the place, and the guards who were there bowed their heads immediately when they saw me. They all wore smiles on their faces, which makes me believe that Alpha Thorne hasn't done anything to him. I knew that they wouldn't be as calm as the

  • THE LYCAN'S DUEL   Freya's Unexpected Arrival

Thorne I was glad that things had worked out my way, and I woke up early in the morning just like I had planned. I sent a letter to Alpha Titus the previous night, telling him the location where we would be meeting to kill Lucius. I was glad that the alpha meant business since he understood my fear, and I was glad that he still wanted to proceed with the plan. I make my way out of my pack with a look of happiness on my face. Anyone who sets his or her eyes on me will notice the vibrant smile that is on my face. I was glad that my plans had fallen into place, and I don't have any reason to panic anymore. I was glad that all this had happened, and I knew I wouldn't have made progress if not for the help of Alpha Titus. I have made up my mind to make his pack flourish more, and that means helping me eliminate Lucius.I walked toward the direction of the cave in which Lucius is being held, with no one following me. I knew that there was no way I would be harmed, and that was because I a

  • THE LYCAN'S DUEL   Caged Deception

LuciusI was brought to a location in the woods after the rogues took me away, and I couldn't help but feel afraid about the entire situation. I could see the fear of the unknown in my eyes. I let out a little moan, my lips giving way. My body froze as I was pulled into what appeared to be more of a cave. I was immediately out of breath and dazed. With a shiver of terror running down my spine, I looked everywhere. I was looking back and forth, unsure of what to do. I closed my eyes and thought about what to do. I could feel myself wanting to try out my skills, but I knew that was a bad idea since every mistake I made might put me in danger. Instead, I should have waited for Freya to come help me. I was aware that I would have to wait for Freya to arrive calmly; if she doesn't show up within the next two days, I shall handle things on my own. I'll see to it that everything proceeds as smoothly as I've always desired. I stared at the wall of the cell I had been placed in. I could sens
