Chapter One

Olive

"Olive! Olive!" the loud screaming of my name woke me up abruptly. I quickly got out of bed scampering around trying to get dressed as quick as i could. I looked at the clock on my bedside it was eight in the morning. I am as good as dead. I definitely slept in.

" Where the fuck are you?" i heard the Alpha shout, i could sense fear all over and hear his footsteps. He was definitely coming down the attic.

I usually get up at five in the morning and prepare breakfast for the pack. Then clean the kitchen before going to school. Yesterday i was really tired hence why i overslept. I knew the kind of beating that was awaiting me was going to be intense. Alpha Sol hated when i made everyone late. He also used any chance he got to thoroughly give me a beating.

I was about to open the door, when a loud bang came, and the door flew right into my face throwing me across the room.

"What did i tell you about waking up late you lazy slouch?" He yelled walking towards where i had fell. The broken door was now trapping my legs. I tasted blood on my lips, the broken door had hit my face leaving a really big cut. 

"I..... I am... Ssooory Alpha." I tried to say meekly.

That landed me a kick in my stomach as he pulled me up by my hair, the door trapping my legs fell over as he dragged me to my feet. Without any notice, he punched me on my face followed by several punches on my head and stomach. 

I fell down and curled as i tried to protect my front area, but he kept on kicking me and punching while screaming. 

"Today is the day am going to kill you," he said picking up what looked like a walking stick. He started caning my back, for a moment i thought my back was on fire. He usually whipped me with a whip or belt but he had never hit me using a stick. 

I screamed while wriggling in pain as he beat me until i felt my whole body go numb. I saw total darkness. Maybe this is what death felt like. Peaceful and quiet. But unfortunately i was not dead just yet. 

"Get up and go make breakfast before i fucking kill you." Alpha Sol said kicking my stomach one last time before he walked out. 

I immediately tried to get up but my left leg was broken or twisted at the ankle. Painful tears flooded my eyes as i tried to help myself up knowing if i was not in that kitchen soon he was going to come back and finish the job. 

My back was badly bruised with my clothes, or what was left of them full of my blood. I limped to the small bathroom and opened my first aid kit as i tried to bandage myself up as quick as i could. 

I slowly changed into new clothes, wearing an oversize hoodie to give my back space to heal and then ran up the stairs my head down straight to the kitchen. But i was not so lucky as i ran into the Luna outside the kitchen area. 

"Where is my breakfast you stupid girl?" she said slapping me hard on my face. I felt heat and the tears came again. "Am giving you five minutes." she said pushing me into the kitchen so hard that i fell on my stomach. 

She then walked with her six inch heels and stepped with one leg on my ankle that was now clearly swollen. 

"Am doing you a favor by letting you stay here. Don't let me regret it you little bitch." she said turning the heel harder on my ankle. She did it for a few seconds but it felt like forever before she walked out leaving me lying there on the floor. I needed a real doctor to check out that leg i was pretty sure it was broken, but they never let me see the doctor. 

I slowly got up ignoring the pain, thinking i will find the kitchen spotless as i left it, but utensils were all over the place. I quickly washed everything again, before making pancakes and sausages for the whole pack. I quickly set the table and served them and went back to cleaning the kitchen. 

I still had to wash the pack houses before i could go to school, but given that my body was in so much pain, i was so much slower than usual. 

I finished cleaning the upstairs houses, i usually made sure not to interrupt anyone or whatever they were doing so as not to get in trouble. I was in my last house when i suddenly started feeling dizzy.

My head felt heavy, i wasn't seeing clearly, i was about to sit down for a minute or two when my body gave up and i collapsed..

The last thing i remember was me cleaning the last house so that i could go to school when i suddenly saw darkness.

I try to open my eyes, looking around me, am not in my room and i have never been here before. The walls were white. I tried to sit up when suddenly a strange voice said to me.

"No don't get up just yet, am so glad you are up. I sure thought we were loosing you."

An elderly man said standing by my bed as he checked my fever. I had tubes connected to my left hand.

"I really need to get out of here." i say as tears start filling my eyes, "If he finds out am here he will kill me please. Just let me go."

"Your ribs are broken dear, i can't let you go just yet. You will need to stay here for another day." the doctor says looking at me with sympathy.

"You don't understand, he will kill me." i say holding his hand.

He looks up at me confused, "Who? What are you talking about?" before i get the chance to answer him, the door opens and there he is.

The man responsible for my broken ribs. Alpha Scott. Immediately the elderly doctor stands up straight and turns to face him.

"How is she?" Alpha Sol asks, in a calm and collected voice. I don't think i have ever heard him so calm when talking about me.

"She has some broken ribs, she will need to stay for another night." the doctor says looking at me again. "You will be okay, you are lucky he found you and brought you in, you could have died. You were bleeding internally." he says before walking out.

Alpha Sol walks towards me smiling like he isn't the one that did this to me. He sits on the chair next to my bed.

" See how much you are costing me? You are so fucking weak."he says squeezing my leg, the leg that was broken and just got fixed. "Now you owe me your life too, you little piece of shit. As soon as you are out of here you are going to work your ass off until you pay me off. No more school for you." He said in his Alpha voice, i had no choice but to nod okay,before he left.

As soon as he left i cried so hard, sobbing until i fell back to sleep again. Why couldn't i catch a break?
