2024-11-26 16:46:27I arrived in a town that barely had acess to the internet, there was more woods than there were people. Everyone knew everyone and they could tell immediately that I was an outsider.
I got a two bedroom apartment and decided to get a job. I was wealthy and had enough money to last me for a lifetime but I still needed to do something to keep myself busy. I applied to work in a restaurant as their manager and they felt that I was overqualified but I didn't care. I did tell him that I was pregnant and he was okay with it. I got acquainted with some of the town folks and they seemed to like me genuinely. Months went by and I had already began to show. Surprisingly, I kept craving meat all the time and no matter how much I ate, I was never satisfied. Strange things kept happening to my body and I knew that some of them were not normal. women became tired while pregnant but I was the opposite, I always had more energy than most people and I started doing things I couldn't do before. I was worried for my baby. "Child, you do not know what you are carrying do you" an elderly customer said calmly the moment I walked out. " Excuse me?" I said in confusion "Do you know what is inside of you" she asked me. Her eyes seemed to be staring into my soul " Of course I do. It's a boy" I said with a smile on my face. What is it with old people and being rude. "That is not what I mean. I mean do you know the father of your child" she asked me My face became ashen at her question and I felt the need to lash out, but one look at Dave the owner of the restaurant, I decided to keep my anger in check. " Thank you very much for your concern but I would appreciate it if you mind your business..... Ma'am" I said through gritted teeth I was about walking back into the kitchen when she gripped my arm tightly. "I didn't mean to offend you Claire, but this child you carry is not just a child" she said "How did you know my name? Are you a stalker?" I said in shock and fear "I am not a stalker clair and you if you give me a chance I can explain everything to you" she said rather calmly " And why would I do that" I asked suspiciously "Because you know that this pregnancy isn't normal. I can tell you more about the strange things you've been experiencing" she said My eyes widened and I was suddenly interested. I would do anything to make sure my baby is safe. " Meet me at the parking lot after your shift" she said ********* After my shift, I went to the parking lot with a pepper spray in my bag. "What took you so long Claire" said the elderly lady " I had some last minute errands to run" I said "I am Mary Wyatt" she said " You already know who I am so no need for introduction" I said " What do you know about werewolves Claire" she asked " They are myths and do not exist in real life" I said " What if I told you that they do and the child you are carrying is a wolf" she said with a serious expression. I stared at her waiting for her to laugh at her silly joke but she didn't. " Why would you say something as stupid as my child being a werewolf" I said annoyed " I knew I was wasting my time." I began to walk away but stopped the moment I felt something trickle down my legs. I looked down and saw that my water had broken. " Oh my gosh! It's not time yet" I said in fright I was in my second trimester and my water suddenly breaking was not a good sign. Mary rushed towards me and took me into the backseat of her car. " The baby is ready to be born Claire. Wolves do not reach nine months, they stay till six months. You are due" she said " What the fuck are you saying! My baby is not an animal!" I yelled in pain I tried to get up but it was of no use, I could already feel him coming. I began to push and soon I heard the cry of my baby boy. Mary wrapped him in a blanket that was already in her car, as if she was waiting for me to deliver all along. I held my son in my arms for the first time and I felt completely whole again. But then the strangest thing happened, my newborn son turned into a wolf and then back to a human. I stared at him in shock and then at Mary. " Wolves exist Claire, and your son is one of them. I am a witch and I can help you" she said I would always put my son first before anyone. Even if he is a teapot, I would still love him no matter what. " Tell me everything I need to know" I said " Wolves live in packs and your son needs a pack Claire. You need to find his father" she said " How do I find him when I don't even know him" I said in frustration " Drive 80 miles east, tell them you need to meet the alpha and you would get answers there" she said " but for now you need rest." "I need to get to the hospital" I said drowsily " You don't need human facilities, your body is already healing because of your son. His blood in your system is healing you Claire" she said with a smile. " It is? Oh my little angel" I said while kissing his forehead. Five months ago, my biggest problem was marrying James Perez, but now it was how to keep my baby safe and away from harm. "
