chapter five

The drive was a very long and bumpy one. My son Kayden was at the back seat sound asleep, while I drove with no idea where I was going, there was only woods everywhere. I arrived at my destination and was surprised when I saw no one there, I almost thought I had been lied to, until five hefty men came out of the woods with nothing but shorts.

" Who are you?" They asked in a commanding voice

" I'm Claire smith" I said eyeing all of them up and down suspiciously. The pepper spray was In my back pocket and my car door was locked with Kayden inside sound asleep.

" What business do you have here human?" Asked the ginger haired guy

Human? That means I'm at the right place.

" I need to speak with the alpha" I said

They seemed surprised that I knew what an alpha was.

" What do you need our alpha for?" They asked

" I need help with my son. He is...uh" how was I going to say this without sounding stupid

" What happened to your son" said the blonde one

" can I just speak with the alpha....please" I said

" No one speaks to him without getting through us" said the ginger head in a threatening manner

My heart rate began to spike and I clutched the pepper spray in my pocket. Ginger hair guy moved forward and I brought out the pepper spray out of instinct and sprayed his face. He didn't seem to be affected by it, and he held my hands roughly and I screamed in fear.

Kayden woke up and began to cry, but then his cries began to sound like a tiny growl. All five of them stopped what they were doing and stared at my frightened face.

They all took a whiff of the air and they seemed to realise something.

" Do you smell that?" Asked the ginger head to no one in particular

" Yeah...he smells like one of us. Like a werewolf" said the dark haired one

They all eyed me suspiciously and took a More threatening stance. If they were scary before, they were worst now.

" You said he is your son. You gave birth to him" The blonde one said in disbelief

" Yes i did. Don't you dare touch him" I said

They took a long whiff of the air and decided that I was telling the truth. Of course I was telling the truth.

Suddenly their demeanor seemed to change from attack to protect.

" You want to meet our alpha right. Come with us" said the fourth one

The shriek that left my lips when they all suddenly turned to wolves just like Kayden had when he was born was baffling. Yep! I was at the right place.

I followed them in my car, but they were still faster than me. We drove through the town and it seemed to be extremely civilized. There were beautiful buildings everywhere, it seemed like a normal neighborhood. We arrived at a huge building that seemed like a hotel but it wasn't a hotel.

" Wait here. We need to speak with the alpha first" said the blonde guy

I was still in the car with Kayden in the back seat and they all stood protectively around me as If gaurding me.

"  alpha duncan is ready to see you" said the ginger head.

How did he know the alpha was ready to see me when he was here the while time, i wondered.

Walking into the building with Kayden in my arms, I felt like I was on a runway. My body had completely healed as if I was never pregnant, and everyone kept staring and sniffing at me.

" My soldiers seemed to bring unbelievable news to me" said  alpha duncan the moment I walked into his office.

He was a middle aged man with a little bit of gray hair. But his voice was very dominating and commanding.

" What is unbelievable about the news" I asked

" That you, a human gave birth to a wolf" he said

I felt offended at his words. Did he think I was lieing

" It is unbelievable because it has never happened in our history before. Your kind never survive childbirth. But you did" he said in disbelief

" Guess I was just lucky" I said

" I don't believe in luck.......Who is the father of your child" he asked

I felt ashamed and I wanted the ground to swallow me. The alpha seemed to understand and did not ask any further questions.

" Whoever he is, he must be a very high ranking and powerful wolf because your son already has the scent of a strong alpha at such a young age which is rare" he said

I was surprised at this revelation. But that doesn't matter right now, what matters is Kayden.

" I had met a witch who told me to come here. She said my son needs to be part of a pack, that all wolves need packs" I said

" Yes he does. We will take you in Claire smith, both you and your son. You are now a part of the blue eclipse part" he said in a very intimidating voice

At his words, I felt like a veil had been covered over me and Kayden seemed to notice too. He sneezed and shifted from wolf form and into human form.

" Incredible" said the alpha in surprise. He stared at Kayden in amazement.

" That was my exact reaction too" I said with a smile on my face

" How old is he Claire" he asked

" A week old" I replied

" And he can shift already. The earliest shift we had ever seen was a thirteen year old. Most wolves shift on their sixteenth birthday." He said

" He is okay right? There's nothing wrong with him is there" I asked worriedly

" No there isn't. It just means that your son is the son of a powerful wolf, he might be more powerful than me" he said in wonder.
